I'm excited to introduce you to our guest today, Jeffrey Tanenhaus. Jeffrey has had an incredible journey that started with giving tours on double-decker busses in NYC, working in a busy event planning company, and eventually deciding to leave it all behind and tour the US on a Citibike with nothing but his bike and a few extra items. On his journey, he made a pit stop in Tulsa, and he's here today to share why this city stood out to him among all the cities he passed through. So, sit back, relax, and let's get to know Jeffrey and his exciting story.ABOUT JEFFREY:After biking from NYC to LA on a rental Citi Bike, Jeffrey Tanenhaus moved to a city that seemed furthest behind on the development curve. When the Tulsa transplant lost his full-time job in the pandemic, Jeffrey pivoted to building a tour company that’s now #1 on Tripadvisor. He also opened a tour office filled with vintage Tulsa travel memorabilia in the heart of the Deco District where he sells his travel memoir, West of Wheeling: How I Quit My Job, Broke the Law & Biked to a Better Life.BROUGHT TO YOU BY: THE ROOT COWORKINGHead on over to their website TheRootCoworking.com and schedule a tour, make sure you mention This is Tulsa podcast on your tour for 50% off your first month.Support the showMERCHwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/store/ LEAVE A REVIEWwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/reviews/new/ SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST NEWSLETTERhttps://bit.ly/3BLRCuG #thisistulsa #tulsa #tulsaok #tulsapodcast #tulsabusiness #keepitlocal #travelok #tulsatalks #918 #keeptulsacreative #tulsalove #podcast

TULSA TOP TEN: Part 3Brunch SpotsToday we are releasing a new episode from the Tulsa Top Ten series! Tulsa Top Ten is a series where I collaborate with local bloggers from Instagram to share their favorite places that the metro has to offer. This collaboration is with Instagram blogger Lindsay Morris. If you want to follow along, she is on Instagram at “Tulsa Places.” www.instagram.com/tulsaplaces/#10: Kilkenny’s: Not just Irish brunch! But they do have traditional Irish breakfast (bangers and mush, Irish pudding, Irish baked beans, Irish soda bread). They offer tons of Benedict and Omelet options. I love the Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquilas.#9: Mad Eats: This breakfast-y spot in Owasso is so fun and yummy! And they serve brunch ALL DAY! One of my favorite items is the Brunch Pacos – three buttermilk pancake tacos with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and choice of bacon or sausage served with maple syrup and hash browns.#8: The Tavern: This place is just plain classy! You kind of feel like you’re eating in a university library. It is owned by McNellie’s Group, so you know it’s going to be good. My favorites for brunch there are Chilaquiles and Crab Egg Benedict.#7: Tally’s: Tally’s is a Tulsa tradition. Tally started the original location at 11th and Yale in 1987. Both Tally’s locations serve classic diner food – pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuits, and gravy. You must try the biscuits and gravy and cheesecake pancakes. He’s added cocktails like bloody marys and mimosas in recent years.#6: Savoy: Best cinnamon rolls in Tulsa! They also offer delectable-looking eclairs and cream puffs! Savoy serves omelets, skillets, breakfast burritos, and classic pancakes, eggs and bacon. This restaurant originally started downtown as the Kelamis Cafe in 1928 and has passed through four generations of the same family!#5: Wild Fork: This is a great place to have brunch outdoors on their patio on a beautiful day! Try the Miniature Cinnamon Rolls in a cast-iron skillet and Blueberry Pancakes with Lemon Curd if you have a sweet tooth! Mornings in Havana Cocktail (Coconut rum, mint simple syrup, lime, sparkling) is a delicious and unique brunch cocktail.#4: Roosevelt’s: I also love brunch outdoors on this Cherry Street patio. If you’re feeling like a boozy brunch, check out the Fro Mo (frozen mimosa) or Mimosa Flights, which feature four 4oz. Mimosas! For a hearty brunch, try the Steak and Cheese Omelet or Salmon Lox SMØRRBRØD #3: Duet Jazz: Another great spot to enjoy brunch outdoors! They have live patio music from 12-2 on Sundays. I love the Five Spice French Toast - coconut milk, orange curd, peppered bacon. Other yummy offerings include Huevos Rancheros, Biscuits, and Gravy#2: Smoke: If you’re looking for a delicious, meaty brunch, look no further than Smoke. They have locations on Cherry Street and in Owasso. I adore the Smoked Brisket Poutine - Brown Gravy, Cheddar and Feta cheese, Pickled Red Onions, Chives, and BROUGHT TO YOU BY: THE ROOT COWORKINGHead on over to their website TheRootCoworking.com and schedule a tour, make sure you mention This is Tulsa podcast on your tour for 50% off your first month.Support the showMERCHwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/store/ LEAVE A REVIEWwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/reviews/new/ SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST NEWSLETTERhttps://bit.ly/3BLRCuG #thisistulsa #tulsa #tulsaok #tulsapodcast #tulsabusiness #keepitlocal #travelok #tulsatalks #918 #keeptulsacreative #tulsalove #podcast

Tulsa Top Ten is a series where I collaborate with local bloggers from Instagram to share their favorite places that the metro has to offer. This collaboration is with Instagram blogger Lindsay Morris. If you want to follow along, she is on Instagram at “Tulsa Places.” 10. Ti Amo: They’ve been in Tulsa for 30 years! Two romantic locations - 61st and Sheridan and downtown. Just their bruschetta alone is worth writing home about! My favorite Lasagna in town!9. Bull in the Alley: Talk about the mystery - green door with a tiny bull hanging over it. This place is swanky! And pricey. We’re talking $25 for Creme Brulee. I had a steak and a side of potatoes when we went, and it was delish! There was also someone playing the piano. Very secluded, exclusive, VIP feel.8. Mahogany: great choice for an anniversary meal! Always exceptional, unpretentious service. These servers are true professionals. Exceptional steaks and au gratin potatoes. You have to finish your meal with their key lime pie!7. Polo Grill: it’s a great lunch or dinner spot. They recently added patio seating. Expansive wine cellar. You must try their Lobster Bisque and Salmon “Tamale”.6. Stonehorse Cafe: Already mentioned in the patio seating category. I love their pizzas and a big glass of wine!5. Juniper: fresh, locally sourced food! The menu is very creative! Excellent service. You will never feel the same about brussel sprouts after eating theirs. Autumn Butternut Squash Soup! Be sure to get whatever Risotto is in season!4. Prhyme: another Justin Thompson restaurant. Picturesque Iceberg Salad. They are known for their steaks, but they also have lobster tail, lamb chops, and several other decadences.3. In the Raw Vu: Tulsa’s most impressive meal with a view. Good luck getting reservations on a weekend for dinner! Great place to watch the sunset, eat sushi, and impress your sweetheart!2. Villa Ravenna: mentioned in ethnic foods. It’s dimly lit, Andre Bocelli is always playing, the service is exceptional!1. Blue Stone: We first tried this place a few months ago and were blown away! I feel like it’s a hidden gem that south Tulsans are hiding away. Dimly lit, live music, and dancing on Saturday nights. Some of the best service I’ve ever had.Delicious steaks, fresh Norwegian salmon, sea scallops, etc. Their fresh garlic mashed potatoes are to die for!EPISODE LINKSwww.instagram.com/tulsaplaces/ThisIsTulsaPodcast.comMERCHwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/store/LEAVE A REVIEWwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/reviews/new/SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST NEWSLETTERBROUGHT TO YOU BY: THE ROOT COWORKINGHead on over to their website TheRootCoworking.com and schedule a tour, make sure you mention This is Tulsa podcast on your tour for 50% off your first month.Support the showMERCHwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/store/ LEAVE A REVIEWwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/reviews/new/ SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST NEWSLETTERhttps://bit.ly/3BLRCuG #thisistulsa #tulsa #tulsaok #tulsapodcast #tulsabusiness #keepitlocal #travelok #tulsatalks #918 #keeptulsacreative #tulsalove #podcast

FINANCIAL FREEDOM THROUGH PASSIVE INCOMEMy guests today are Paul Stafford and Miranda Phillips of Elite Wealth and Wellness. Paul and Miranda are both physicians, investors, philanthropists, and much more. Their company, Elite Wealth and Wellness, helps set people free to live life on their own terms through financial freedom. Paul and Miranda went from a negative net worth, to over 100 million in assets under management and passive income equivalent to 3 physician salaries. They offer courses that walk you step by step on how to achieve financial freedom through passive income. WHAT WE DISCUSSPaul, Miranda, and I discuss their background growing up in small towns and what initially drew them to medicine. Neither Paul nor Miranda came from a family of doctors or wealth. They each discuss their travels to Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Kenya, and how important medical missions are to them. They discuss other interests apart from medicine such as soccer, philosophy, and flying. They share how the roots of Elite Wealth and Wellness began in 2015 with the goal of helping others create passive income which leads to financial freedom. They share how instead of escaping their lives, they figured out how to recreate their lives. They unpack the “why” behind the importance of financial freedom. You’ll hear them describe important concepts such as “herd mentality”, “passive cash flow”, “investable income”, “bad debt vs. good debt”, “consumer mindset vs. investor mindset”, and what it means to “buy geese instead of saving eggs.” EPISODE LINKShttps://elitewealthandwellness.comThisIsTulsaPodcast.comMERCHwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/store/LEAVE A REVIEWwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/reviews/new/SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST NEWSLETTERhttps://bit.ly/3BLRCuG#thisistulsa #tulsa #tulsaok #tulsapodcast #tulsabusiness #keepitlocal #travelok #tulsatalks #918 #keeptulsacreative #tulsalove #podcastSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/thisistulsa)BROUGHT TO YOU BY: THE ROOT COWORKINGHead on over to their website TheRootCoworking.com and schedule a tour, make sure you mention This is Tulsa podcast on your tour for 50% off your first month.Support the showMERCHwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/store/ LEAVE A REVIEWwww.thisistulsapodcast.com/reviews/new/ SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST NEWSLETTERhttps://bit.ly/3BLRCuG #thisistulsa #tulsa #tulsaok #tulsapodcast #tulsabusiness #keepitlocal #travelok #tulsatalks #918 #keeptulsacreative #tulsalove #podcast
