Freight was horrible in the last year. Now that covid is father behind us also, we are starting to see the support,y chain pick up steam. Manufacturing is seeing an uptick in the semi truck department. Truck prices have dropped a little and there is opportunities for carriers to grow 2024 did not see any growth in the driver wage department. In fact, last year seen a reduction in wages. Moreover, there was a reduction in freight rates. As you can see the news was grim for trucking. Also the seen a huge amount of drivers get their walking papers. That's right. in November of 24, we seen a mass exodus of the driver pool. 180, 000 drivers to be precise. The reason, the clearinghouse new rule. Merging Lanes. Truck drivers are considered professional drivers. If you want the title, then you need to act like the title. When another vehicle is merges and is driving aggressively, there is a responsibility to avoid a possible accident. If a driver is not at fault during an accident but could have prevented it. He/she is part of the blame. Merging Lanes Safety Departments will always look at other factors besides who was at fault. The person that should be watching for the potential wreck, is also at fault if opportunity was there to prevent. It sounded to me like the trucker was trying to temporary fix a truck to limp it to a shop. I was surprised that the trucker was arrested. In America he would have been tagged and fined. He would have had to pay for repairs and the towing of the vehicle but no arrested. Thats right, In Pennsylvania this week a town has issued a warning to truckers. It is ok to have them on your truck but when in motion the extra lights have to be turned off.

Hypocrisy In Trucking. Have you noticed, in the trucking industry, there is allot of hypocrites? From shippers to receivers to trucking companies, there is plenty of hypocrisy. They say one thing and do another. They fire a truck driver for stealing and then steal themselves. They punish you when you run over on your hours and then ask you to run over on your hours. New Jersey Town Punishes all truckers. Recently a town in New Jersey enacted a law, they punishes truckers, if they park on certain street, the same street they have been allowed to park on for many years. A road had been cited for construction and truck drivers had been given notice. Notice to move their truck and trailers for the road construction A few drivers, for some reason, dod not move their big rigs. Perhaps they dod not receive notice because they were away on the road. Perhaps they were home, resting from traveling and bringing goods for towns, just like the one they live in. Perhaps they just forgot. Well the town got a hair up the rear-end and put in place a law, that fines all truckers now on this street. It sounds like pride to me. Hypocrisy In Trucking Why punish all truckers for a few that made a mistake? This has to stop. Most truckers are barley making it today and can not afford to have to pay for full time parking. Don't worry, you are not alone. In fact, most truckers end up at a job and do not last. Scary Concerns in Trucking. Wow, the title alone makes you think. Trucking for years, has been the number one job in the country. Open up the want ads and "Class A CDL Driver" was the most you seen. Not today. Just look at the Craigslist in Atlanta. At one time there was numerous pages for just one day. That has changed and its a good indicator that trucking is hurting.

I'm new to this podcast but as a 25 year truck driver who listens to podcasts I really think you could lengthen this format to at least 2 hours. 30ish minutes to a trucker is only like 5 minutes to a non trucker. This podcast would grow ten fold if it were stretched out. Good job though.
