Talking Pictures

In this episode, we're joined by our usual guests, Dhruv and Amartya, along with first-time guest Sayaree for our midyear movie roundup. Together, we discuss six films released so far in 2026 that have sparked conversation, surprised audiences, and shaped the year in cinema.01:34- Obsession25:47- Backrooms37:39- Influence of mixed media on new generation filmmakers 43:22- Hokum54:03- The Drama1:07:53- Undertone (bonus rant :3)1:10:18- Main Vaapas Aaunga (and Imtiaz Ali)1:28:48- Satluj1:45:31- Hero worship in movies and in general1:51:47- Anticipating The Odyssey1:57:29- OutroFollow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_talking.pictures_Follow our guests and host on Instagram-Sayaree: https://www.instagram.com/death_by.chocolateDhruv: https://www.instagram.com/terminalcinemaAmartya: https://www.instagram.com/amartya25Arijit: https://www.instagram.com/_tentinquarantino_Follow our guests and host on Letterboxd-Sayaree: https://boxd.it/z8rZDhruv: https://boxd.it/MafxAmartya: https://boxd.it/MDprArijit: https://boxd.it/fazr

We are back with another Spooktober episode. This time Arijit and I are joined by Ekata as well as The Queen is Dead podcast's Dhruv, Cris, and Amartya. We discuss three classic (Suspiria, Kuroneko, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) that we more or less love and three current year (The Shrouds, Sinners, Weapons) horror films. The conversation spanned for way too long, but it was fun having it nevertheless.Timestamps - 03:10- Introduction to horror and its influences22:43- Sinners29:08- Ludwig Gora or Zimmer51:15- The Shrouds1:11:33- Kuroneko1:39:45- TCM1:58:55- Leatherface vs Michael Myers2:00:45- Tarantino on TCM (from Cinema Speculation)2:03:58- Suspiria2:25:30- Weapons 3:09:15- OutroTalking Pictures Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/_talking.pictures_/Arijit's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/_tentinquarantino_Arijit's Letterboxd - https://boxd.it/fazrTuhin's Letterboxd - https://letterboxd.com/tuhinat221bEkata's Letterboxd - https://letterboxd.com/ekata/Dhruv's Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/terminalcinemaDhruv's Letterboxd - https://boxd.it/MafxAmartya's Letterboxd - https://boxd.it/MDprAmartya's Linktree (to check out his reviews) - https://linktr.ee/amartya25Cris's Letterboxd - https://letterboxd.com/crislimQID Linktree - https://linktr.ee/queenisdead

Arijit and Tuhin are joined by Srijan and Dhruv (we really need his Zoom) to talk our favourite Lynch films, his impact on cinema and culture, and why we love his work. Loved this insightful and long discussion for a filmmaker we adore.Talking Pictures Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/_talking.pictures_/Arijit's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/_tentinquarantino_Arijit's Letterboxd - https://boxd.it/fazrTuhin's Letterboxd - https://letterboxd.com/tuhinat221bDhruv's Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/terminalcinemaDhruv's Letterboxd - https://boxd.it/MafxSrijan's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/srijan.zSrijan's Letterboxd - https://boxd.it/lNXp
