In this PLC programming challenge, we needed to program a start stop motor control with reverse operation in ladder logic, function block diagrams, and structured text. Here is my solution.

If you do industrial automation projects for long, the up's and down's will eventually lead to burnout. What can we do as both individuals and employers to protect ourselves from burnout?
So what is burnout? Most people watching this channel like a good math equation so burnout is when the effort you put into something is greater than the reward you get out of something for a long period of time. And that time factor is important because there is no doubt we are going to have difficult projects in the industry where for a time it seems like there is no amount of money that is worth the amount of effort we put in but as that project comes to the end, then hopefully the math works out that the reward is greater than the effort.
I'm going to review my first RsLogix 5000 PLC program, now called Studio 5000 Logix Designer, that I wrote for an Allen Bradley Controllogix PLC in this tutorial. I had about 1 year of programming experience when I developed this RsLogix 5000 program. A popular request is for us to share PLC programming examples and explain the PLC programming methods used and what can be improved so I'm picking some highlights from my past machines to evaluate. Whether you are a beginner programmer or a seasoned veteran, there should be some good programming in this one.

Have you ever gone back and reviewed one of your old PLC programs? A popular request is for us to share PLC programming examples and explain the PLC programming methods used and what can be improved. If we are going to critique programs, then might as well start with my very first ladder logic program. It is a RsLogix 500 program for the SLC 500 PLC.
