Vero Muerte is a trans, chicana independent artist blending post-punk, darkwave and alternative genres to create her own gothic, hyper-femme world. She draws inspiration from films, catholicism, her Mexican culture and her experiences as a trans woman. Her imagery evokes dark Hollywood noir, lofi analog horror and punk-rock feminism. Motivated by her rebellious nature to go against the status quo, she produces her own music at home and edits most of her visuals herself. She edits her own music videos as well, a skill that she learned in college when she studied film production. Through her music, she is able to express difficult emotions that range from rage to romance.
