Yeah i changed the show description agian, so what, wanna fight about it?
On the 7th day of August 2018, Tuesday, the 7th episode of the 4AM LIBERATION podcast was created! A really short episode today. Some thoughts on stepping away from the screen to find design and strategy based solutions. Check out the facebook group. Say hi :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/4amliberationpodcast/
In this episode, I decided that my past-self would rather listen to shorter episodes. More bite sized, more focused, more valuable content. This is just a quick update of how I'm feeling after waking up at 4AM every day. Please leave a voice message on the anchor app with your amazing show jingle and I'll add it end of a future episode. A much shorter episode today. Making sure certain projects don't end up running away with more time that you intended, can be an ongoing struggle. In this episode, I went step by step and started taking a serious look at where the I can begin to systematize the process of creating/documenting/publishing, so I can have time for more rewarding personal projects. Have a great Sunday.
It's Saturday morning, I did not want to wake up at 4 this morning but I did it! Took a 30 minute bike ride and then got to work on this episode. I wanted to give a quick rundown of some of the ways a resourceful artist can make a living without needing to deal with too much customer service. This episode is for the yard salers, bargin hunters, writers, designers, small businesses, startups or freelancers looking to add additional revenue streams. BEFORE: At times, I might fully commit to taking unproductive action and spinning my wheels on decaying art projects that I’d never get to share. AFTER: I'm working toward taking productive actions that encourage me to commit to taking more productive actions that help gain momentum, instead of polishing large scale ideas in my head until they were either perfect of dead. When I have momentum, I feel like I’m on a train headed toward a desired goal. Sometimes for me, breaking through to the starting point is as simple as starting, but sometimes I can’t seem to find the go-button. Maybe it’s because the end goal might not be clear enough but that’s the case with most art (and some business) projects. I’m learning to be more mindful of my process of breaking through and hitting the MORE PRODUCTIVE GO-BUTTON. Sleepy 9 year old Liberty joined me for this episode and had some interesting insight on her process of getting started when she finds herself with little direction. Enjoy
August 2nd, episode #2, coincidence? Episode #365 will be here soon enough. This morning I wanted to talk about the podcast name and why the word LIBERATION. You take special care when naming your child, because your child's identity is the jumping off point when it comes to most interactions and relationships they will have in their life. Hello my name is... Welcome to the... Next week on... Come on down to... Tell them Christopher from the 4AM LIBERATION PODAST sent you. The name is important. It's also important that you are able to act quickly on ideas and opportunities. Printful/etsy integration. Toward the end of this episode I discuss how i'm able to make designs available for purchase quickly without ever having to hand it using printful together with etsy. https://www.printful.com/a/4AMLIBERATIONPODCAST The timelaps vid is live on facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2117858215128949/ Here's the design I was discussing in episode. https://tinyurl.com/y8yhylgj
4am bike ride. I've been super pumped to make this podcast. I've been trying to figure out what to call it, debating possible domain names, consuming other people's podcasts, organizing my computer, the shed, the house... This episode begins a few minutes after I made the decision to take action and stop making excuses for why it's not the right time to start. During this episode, I realized how much of a drag my misguided perfectionism can be at times. There are times as an artist that perfectionism can add extreme value to a project, other times that same perfectionism, in the exact same spirit, can lead to a lot of wasted time and missed opportunities. I was able to see the resistance for what it was and push through it by taking action and recording this first episode, creating the logo and publishing it all before noon. It's not perfect but it's done and i'm feeling pretty good about it.
