Description

In-depth conversations about film and other art forms, entertainment, and life.

My goal is to use this show to talk about my journey as a filmmaker and how I got to where I am now. I'll be having guests on the show that are friends and fellow artists, and my hope is that we can both entertain you and inspire you with our conversations.

In our second and final road trip episode, Sam Nork and I say goodbye to HorrorHound and hit the road as we discuss all our adventures there and the memories that were shared. Find out who we got to meet, who made us both cry, and all the moments that led to internal screaming. I want to give Sam and our fellow HorrorHound friends a huge thanks for making this such a special, memorable weekend!
In this first-ever "recorded on the road" episode of Technical Difficulteas, myself and my good friend and fellow horror fanatic, Sam Nork, discuss our love for the indie horror video game company Puppet Combo. We also discuss our hopes and plans for the 2024 HorrorHound convention, as we recorded this episode in the car on the way to HorrorHound! Make sure to stay tuned for part two where we discuss (but mostly fangirl) about what our actual experiences at the convention were like. (Spoiler: pretty frickin' amazing)
Hey everyone! I'm happy to be back and finally finishing the story I started to tell last year about my journey as a filmmaker and storyteller. In this first episode of 2024, I discuss what I've been up to in the past year, as well as give my review on the Goosebumps show that came out last year on Disney+. Lastly, I recommend a couple of 2024 films I watched recently that I think are worth checking out. I hope you enjoy the listen!
Hey listeners! This is part two of my recent talk with the amazing Shannon Geoffrey. In this next part of our conversation we go even more in-depth into our creative processes, and discuss good ways to go about navigating yourself as a creative in an unpredictable industry. We also discuss some films we watched recently that we may or may not recommend.
Hey listeners! This is part one of my recent talk with my good friend Shannon Geoffrey, who is an extraordinarily talented and kind individual. Shannon and I go in-depth into her background with filmmaking and acting. We also exchange stories and thoughts about what drives us as artists, and how we adapt in challenging situations.
In part two of my talk with friend and fellow creative and wedding photographer Taylor Stinson, we discuss creative processes, why you should treat your wedding and event vendors kind always, and why Top Gun: Maverick and Miles Teller's mustache have gone down in film history. Make sure to check out the latest episode (which premieres today!) of Taylor's podcast, We Can Knot, available at the following link: https://open.spotify.com/show/1ax6Xr1Omcrphs5l1C4Cg7?si=8_ZsPr28Rg6F92WX7KYVdA&nd=1
Hey ya'll, I'm back with another episode and this one is another two (maybe three) parter because my guest Taylor Stinson and I had way too much fun recording this conversation! Here Taylor gets into the nitty gritty of the wedding photography industry, and what led her to begin this journey in the first place. I also want to mention that Taylor now has her own podcast as well! It's called We Can Knot and episodes are premiering each Friday. You can check them out at the following link: https://open.spotify.com/show/1ax6Xr1Omcrphs5l1C4Cg7
Have you witnessed vengeance yet? Well, I did, and so did my special guest Sam Nork! Sam is a good friend of mine and also a wonderful photographer and filmmaker. On this episode we take a dive into the masterpiece that is The Batman, and why you should go see it immediately. We also discuss what it's like for Sam to be a concert photographer, updates on our latest film Camp Solstice, and why Shrek is the perfect movie to watch on your deathbed.
As you might know I'm pretty much a Goosebumps fanatic, so I just had to make an episode so I could talk about the newly announced Goosebumps TV series, coming soon to Disney Plus. I also discuss books 3 through 6 of the original Goosebumps series, and read to you my new Goosebumps-inspired short story, FunTime Happy Pizza Arcade. If you dig this episode, feel free to shoot me a nice message and say hi! Email: technicaldifficulteas@gmail.com Instagram and Twitter handle: dustinhendrix6
In this episode I sat down with a buddy of mine, DJ and musician Matt Swiftney. Matt shares with me the stories of how he started as a musician breaking into the wedding industry, and all of the many people that helped him achieve the success he has today. I want to thank Matt for taking the time to meet with me, and I look forward to having him back on the show for a future episode!
In this episode I discuss the first three books in the original 90s Goosebumps book series, and how they compare to their TV version counterparts. I also read a nastyyyy short story from R. L. Stine's short story collection, More Tales to Give You Goosebumps. There is also some discussion on the correlation between the Goosebumps series and childhood trauma. Listener beware - don't get too scared!!
In this episode I talk about my all-time favorite book/TV series Goosebumps, and how it inspired me to start writing my own Goosebumps-style book series. I then read through the Give Yourself Goosebumps book # 7 "Under the Magician's Spell", and you get to experience all the SCARES and SCREAMS along the way. Don't get too scared because there's a whole 'nother episode of Goosebumps goodness coming up after this!
First episode of the new season!! In this episode I talk about my recently published short story, Spaceship Church, and go behind the scenes into the true events that inspired me to write it. I had so much fun having myself on this episode, and I hope to have myself back for future episodes!
On this episode Dustin sits down with his wife and co-host Amanda as the two of them get into the discussion of dreams (or try to anyways) after having consumed adult gummies, aka cannabis edibles. Recommended listening after having partaken in something similar. Join me for a fun episode as I discuss survival horror video games with my good friend Noah Thulin. We dive deep into the heart-pounding remakes of Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space, exploring their revamped nightmares and spine-tingling atmospheres. Get ready for nostalgia, intense gameplay, and a nerdy debate on the evolution of the genre in the latest episode of Technical Difficulteas!
In this first part of my talk with friend and fellow filmmaker Noah Thulin, we get to hear what he's been up to lately since our previous episode together in 2020. We discuss our upcoming psychological horror film "Camp Solstice" and all the craziness involved with production. Lastly, we each recommend a recent film that's left an impact on us. Hope you enjoy and look forward to part two!
In this episode, I dramatically read you the bizarro fiction short story I published last year, "But Wait, There's More!" I also go into detail about the inspiration behind the story; part of that inspiration is the writing of John Wayne Comunale! John Wayne is an author, musician, artist, and all-around rad dude, and you can check out his work here: http://johnwayne-comunale.squarespace.com/ I hope you enjoy listening to this episode. It was a total blast to record and edit!
Technical Difficulteas is back- AGAIN! Dustin Hendrix here, and welcome to my podcast! I'm a Michigan-based writer and filmmaker and in this first episode of the new season, I re-introduce myself and what projects I've been working on lately. I also begin telling the story of my journey as a filmmaker, and how it paved the way to where I am now. I hope you enjoy this new episode and get something out of it! If you did, shoot me an email at technicaldifficulteas@gmail.com and I just might read it live on a future episode!
Today's episode features special guest filmmaker and graphic designer, Amanda Tingley, joining host Dustin Hendrix as they discuss the aspects of comedy, why we don't seem to see as many great comedies lately, and also underrated comedic films they've watched recently that are worth checking out.
In this episode, host Dustin Hendrix with guest friend and filmmaker Noah Thulin discuss the survival horror video game genre, what games they enjoy and why, and also go in depth about the history (and future) of the Resident Evil game series. Producer’s note: Dustin and Noah’s audio gets a bit out of sync midway through the episode.
