What strange tools the Carpenter of Nazareth used to shape a Simon into a Peter! His instruments of change were fish, roosters, pigs, and ordinary people like his wife, his brother, and even his mother-in-law. Shaped by adversity and hammered by time and circumstance, "The Rock" was chiseled into shape on the workbench of this world. What tools will God's carpenter use to get us into spiritual shape? He gives us, as He gave Peter, the privilege and capacity to cooperate in the process. He has the power to change us as He did Peter.

What’s a parent to do with a child in this day and age? What’s a child to do with a parent? The New Testament says that children are to obey their parents, for this is right. Parents are told not to “exasperate” their children (Eph. 6:3-4). That means don’t drive them up the wall! Instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Is this possible in this present evil age?

Some of the most well-known Bible characters had bad days—just as we do. No matter what your struggle may be today—depression, low self-esteem, bitterness, disappointment, anger, jealousy, weariness, even a lost will to live—there is a person in the Bible who felt those exact same feelings. Jill takes us through this familiar story to reveal the Father's heart.

Is there a difference between a healthy self-image and pride? We read in 1 Corinthians 8:1 that while knowledge “puffs up,” love “builds up.”How do you put your gifts and God-given potential to use and remain humble in the process? We’re often tempted to live our lives out of our emotions where ugly things like frustration, anger, jealousy, and impatience rise to the surface. But love is patient. Love wins over difficult people. Love wins over unlovable people. But it’s never something we can do in our own strength. In this message, Jill Briscoe explores patience as an outpouring of love and why allowing God to teach us long-suffering will transform the gift of love we give to others into a kindness the world seldom sees.

Our greatest human need is love—to know we’re loved and able to give love in return. But in our broken world, some of us have been so hurt that we’ve lost the ability to receive and give love—from God and others. In this message, Jill Briscoe shows how God’s love is deeper, bigger, unconditional, and endless. It’s not a feeling but an action. And when we let the Holy Spirit heal us and work in us, we can once again become vulnerable enough to open our hearts to God’s love—and in turn reflect His love out to other people.
