They're fast and furious in their rewiring of 90s and 00s club sounds and have earned him both critical praise and worldwide DJ and radio support. Anxhela is an Italian-Albanian DJ. Since her adolescence she has a particular feeling with electronic music following any kind of movement or genre and finally, at the age of 17, jumped into the techno world. Shortly after she moved to Berlin and begins to get closer and closer to this panorama starting to play in 2020 and releasing her first tracks in 2022 on MRC and Voxnox labels. Her sound has a trance and acid influence, her energetic sets are synonymous of power and intensity, becoming her trademark throughout the scene. During 2024 she released "Black Hole" on Orbital Label.
In the best way possible, Cera Khin doesn't care what you or anyone else thinks of her. She's here to do things her way. That approach has seen her blaze a path to the top table of hard techno, playing in the world's best clubs and dropping her own compelling club cuts on various labels, including her own. The Tunisian-born DJ and producer has long been an advocate for breaking the stigma around mental health, and everything she does is designed to reflect her own raw emotions, whatever they may be. Here we speak to her about her latest label, CK777 Recordings, becoming a hypnotherapist and why she likes to play hard and fast. Get stuck in while you dive deep into a mix that showcases exactly where she is at right now and reminds us all not to take life too seriously.
Cynthia Spiering is a new school star who fell in love with techno when she worked at the notorious Rotterdam club Perron when she was 18. Pioneers like Jeff Mills and Octave One shaped her understanding of the craft and inspired her to take up DJing, and she made her debut in 2016. Since then, she has carved out a reputation for sets that balance euphoria with uncompromising kick drums, drawing on classic rave and acid influences while keeping her sound firmly forward-thinking. Beyond the booth, Spiering founded her own label and event series, Courtoisy Records, in 2019, a platform that champions both local talent and adventurous bookings. Here we speak to her about that, her love of rave, the importance of representation and plenty more.
'STÜM has fast become one of Australia’s most exciting DJ exports. Based between Melbourne and London, the founder of Happy Wax Records has now turned heads around the world with a sound he calls “chaotic bliss.” It's a melange of euphoric trance, heavy-hitting techno, and emotionally-charged sounds that he delivers with great control and storytelling ability. His fan base is so fervent that he often sells out shows in minutes, as he did when playing Sydney and Melbourne on a national tour, and he's also headlined many other major events across Europe. We caught up with him to talk Boiler Room drops, building tension at high speed, and why his edit of the classic 'Sun Chaser' always saves the dancefloor.' Melbourne's high-energy dance explosion is being fuelled in part by breakout stars like native talent CRUSH3d. He says his main aim as an artist is to conjure good vibes on the dance floor, and he's now doing that across his homeland and as far afield as London. As heard on his new album ev3r, his tunes are a heartfelt blend of warm and rubbery drums and pensive pads, often topped with a nagging vocal hook. They work as well for chilled out home listening as they do for dreamy dance floor escapes and on this week's mix he mixes up that signature sound with some low slung bass, wild club rhythms and tranced out house that's perfect for those late afternoon into early evening sessions when the golden hour sets in.
SHFTR is one of a tight-knit group of local talent representing Liverpool's thriving scene right now. Cadzow is part of the new wave of Scottish artists who are setting the hard techno agenda. The Glaswegian works through his tunes at pace, keeping dancers locked with selections that dip into several sub-genres, and often draws from plenty of his own originals and edits to keep things fresh. He’s already left his mark on us with two standout performances at the iconic Terminal V festival and whether he's working with vocals to anchor a track or laying down bouncy low ends on labels like HEKATE Records, NowNow and Reckless, he always does it with his own fingerprint. From humble beginnings on a DDJ-400 in his bedroom just a couple of years ago to no headlining festival stages and packed clubs, he’s a man on the charge. SWART grew up in the Belgium scene, which has always been at the forefront of high-energy sounds from rave to techno. Years after first parting as a teenager, he is now established as a tehaon talent in his own right with a sound that is trance-infused and hypnotic. He's dropped plenty of it on the likes of VAGUE and Selected (Berlin), and it is all written on Ableton. He's such a wizard with it, he recently hosted a first-ever masterclass to share all aspects of his creative process. This summer he'll be busy playing the likes of Pisiboat, Extrema Outdoor, Duro Festival, Fuse, Bootshaus and more, and promises lots of new music is on the way. Before that he's dropped a signature mix and let us in on his early roots into the scene, his views of AI, what gear he favours and plenty more. Mika Heggemann is busy on many different fronts shaping the contemporary electronic scene from his base in Berlin. Not only is he a DJ, producer and sound engineer with a high energy take on techno, but he is a founder of the Polyamor collective and co-creator of the Berlin Dance Music Event. His fresh sounds blend a healthy understanding of what has gone before with a new school edge and plenty of underground grit, all of which is unified by bold basslines, euphoric builds and hooky vocals. He has taken it all over the world, and already this year he's dropped bangers like 'Heartbeat Destiny' and 'Club Romance'. Chippy Nonstop always brings the party, and she can do it in many different ways as a rapper, DJ, activist, songwriter and event organiser. She has had a nomadic existence so far, which includes being born in Dubai, living in Zambia and across the States, getting deported after her visa expired and then moving to Toronto. It was there that she set up the pioneering Intersessions collective to teach women and non-binary people how to DJ and where she has established herself as a potent force in contemporary techno. Known for electrifying, high-octane sets that challenge and uplift in equal measure, Chippy Nonstop brings a deeply intentional edge to everything she does, as you will hear in this week's mix. Stick it on, then read about a packed summer of new music and shows, reflections on belonging, boundaries and the radical potential of dance music in 2025. Liverpool-born Entasia’s journey in electronic music has already been pretty wild. After first coming up on his local scene, he moved to Australia, initially for six months, but has remained there for five years. The switch had a big impact on his sound and now he's at the forefront of the high energy hard house scene and has already dropped a big tune this year with 'Mona'. It's a great example of how the man born Adam Rylands mixes up old school influences with new school thinking and he plans to follow it up with at least one every month for the rest of 2025. In this interview, the ever more prominent DJ and producer talks about running his two labels, Transition and TNT, shares insights into his creative process, gear setup and much more. Alongside that is his Terminal V podcast which is 90 minutes packed with big and bouncy beats, rushes of euphoria and slamming grooves that demand your finest moves. 'Fast-rising Dutchman LAMMER has a healthy reverence for the 90s but never resorts to pure nostalgia in his music. The Rotterdam native draws from the roots of the rave scene and crafts his music using a mix of vintage gear and modern replicas and brings plenty of his own sense of euphoria to house, techno and trance. It's bouncy, colourful music that has won him support from the likes of Job Jobse and Trym and helps to define the two parties he runs - the open-air Garden Of Muze festival and warehouse series Op Drave. This month he is going full time with his music career and marks the move by dropping a brilliant mix for us. It's got one of his own unreleased tracks in next to plenty of big grooves, sleek synths and bright trance sounds that cannot fail to get you pumped up and ready for the weekend. Turn it up loud while riding about his background in design, how his music reflects his personality and more.' 'Kyle Starkey is at the forefront of an exiting new wave of artists bringing all new dimensions to hard house. Importantly, his sound has plenty of in-built funk and a cheeky playfulness that means it is more than pure revivalism. To prove it, he recently dropped the standout Definition Of Love EP featuring two more peak time bombs alongside Rapid Trax boss DART, both of which embody exactly what he is all about right now...' 'Berlin protagonist Afem Syko brings plenty of colour to techno - not only with his music, but his look and his personality. He is something of an antidote to days gone by when those in the scene preferred to be clad in all black and maintain a moody look in their press shots. He is comfortable celebrating his individuality and encouraging his dancers to do the same, not least with the music he drops on labels like Amelie Lens's EXHALE and Kobosil's R Label Group. Here we hear from him about how he first got into electronic music, why techno is the right vehicle for his creativity and how he likes to approach and structure his DJ sets. For a taste of the results, stick on this week's mix, which is a blistering trip through his current sound.' 'Iran-born Aida Arko has made her mark on the global scene after starting out in the Persian underground. Her journey started a decade ago after years of touring with Cirque Du Soleil and has since taken to her key residencies at Grelle Forelle Club and with the Gegen Collective and NoGender. Her dark, industrial sound comes with hard-edged drums and experimental textures and has been released on labels like Techno Germany and HEKATE Records. This week's mix features plenty of Arko's own fresh sounds as well as jams from the likes of White Coat, H! DUDE and RAMØN. It is fast-paced and monstrously powerful so turn it up loud while you read on to find out about Arko's personal background, the joys she finds in DJing and the record she respects the most.' 'The Muffin Man describes her own sound as "sewer grooves". It's a potent blend of fast, rolling drums and bass, edge from tech house and emotion from psy-trance and it never fails to make an impact. The Italian-born, East London-raised artist has taken it to cult clubs around the Europe and will play the next Terminal V in April while continuing to drop plenty of her own bangers. 'Biianco is one of the most exciting talents to have broken through in recent times. They are a producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with a bold, bright take on techno, but are also on a mission to uplift their neurodivergent and disabled community. Their body-positive bangers have come on labels like Ultra Records and alongside the venerated Marlon Hoffstadt while their hybrid club sets are full of innovation. Here we speak about the impact that moving from their native LA to London had on Biianco's sound, what makes a collaboration the right fit and what dance music can still improve on when it comes to involving the differently-abled community in the scene. All that plus a high-energy mix of sounds complete with some live acid additions to get you bouncing through the week.' He also made his international debut after quickly rising up through the UK scene and is now ready to push on once more in 2025. His sounds have come on vital labels like Teletech, Exhale and Taapion and traverse several techno sub-genres, all of them united by irresistible energy.
