Doctor Doctor is a biweekly podcast that delves into the lives of resident physician training at Brown University. On this podcast we talk about what it’s like to go through the weird, wonderful, and sometimes baffling process of becoming a fully fledged, independent doctor. This podcast will run through our entire last year of residency, but we really hit our stride with episode 6 (A Cerebral discussion with Mac Stanford) and 9 (Tik-Tok) medicine with James Pathoulas). Thanks for listening and we appreciate if you share our show with any who might find it interesting!
This week, Griffin and Dylon discuss what it means when a hospital is above 100% capacity and what it feels like to work in that environment. Notable examples in Providence are the recent "triple pandemic" with RSV, Flu and Covid as well as the 2003 Station night club fire in providence which resulted in over 100 severe burn injuries that were triaged and treated in Providence.  Read more about the Station night club fire: 1. Just the basics on wikipedia 2. From a doctors perspective 3. In depth 20 year retrospective from CBS Link to our theme song by John Sib
Anna Hardesty, Chief Resident, is this week's guest and explains what a Chief Resident is and what they do. The docs also talk about interior design for the resident lounge and their culinary exploits. How well rounded!
