Every once and a while, we get an email that Nora just can’t resist making an entire episode about. This week’s subject is dating a widower – but is she really? It seems like the connection is fading fast. Relationships are complicated, and sometimes, we all need a little tough love to remind us what we’re worth. Nora started this show because she wants to talk to YOU, the listener, about what matters to you. So today, she talks to listeners about it all : getting a hysterectomy, a battle with cancer and health insurance companies (and how much we all hate health insurance companies!), and feeling invisible in a marriage.  Listen to the ad-free version on https://substack.com/inbox/post/171308128https://substack.com/inbox/post/171308128! Kathy Barker isn’t just the founder of Barker Farm – she’s a mother, an advocate for mental health awareness and breaking the stigma of food insecurity, and a self-proclaimed “worker bee.” She’s committed to helping others, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but also because she once needed that help. Today, she shares with Nora the story of surviving domestic violence, financial instability, and the building of Barker Farm. Influencers are the people (women!) that people (women!) love to hate. But they also have a huge cultural and economic impact. It’s tangly, and Author and Podcaster Jo Piazza has been reporting on influencer culture for over 5 years. Her new book, Everyone is Lying To You, is a thriller set in the world of trad-wife influencers, and I loved it so much I had to sit down and talk to her about what we love (and loathe) about this industry.  Jo’s book, Everyone Is Lying To You is out July 15, 2025 and worth a pre-order! What Do People Do All Day?

In this first episode of the newest installment of Thanks for Asking, Nora hears from three callers who explain what they actually do all day at work. And even though they’re wildly different – a regenerative agriculture performance and data reporting manager, an oncology nurse working with phase one clinical trials for cancer patients, and someone who works at a yarn store – each one brings a unique and interesting story. This is an episode from the new season of TTFA Anthologies, go to Apple Podcasts and Spotify to listen to the full season(and past seasons)! _ Eva Hagberg is young, ambitious and about to get her Big Break — a byline in the New York Times! And then, she publishes an error. A big factual error. In the New York freaking Times! Cue the breakdown.   If you've ever laid in bed replaying your missteps, this episode is for you.  Originally published 12/5/2016 – Work is, to most of us, an important part of our lives. We spend something like a third of our lives at work, and even if we’re not working our “dream job” our work gives us a sense of purpose, accomplishment…and – oh, yeah – money to survive. But work – finding it, doing it, losing it – can also be a huge source of stress. This season, we’re exploring what happens when work goes wrong. These are real stories from real people sharing the reality of work, brought to you by Fordham University’s Master of Social Work program. Big thanks to our sponsor, Fordham University’s Master of Social Work program.  Fordham University’s Master of Social Work program is ranked among the nation's top 8% of graduate social work programs by the U.S. News & World Report. Spoiler, updates after the pod: I just listened to this episode and got on Google to learn that just 3 days ago, Haley Paige got her name back and the rights to the lookbooks of all the brands associated with her name, plus her social media accounts. Now that's a happy ending

i don't like the episodes from it's going to be ok. the content often bores me and in general i don't like short episodes. half of the time you are listening to an introduction, commercial or credits. i wish they would stop putting these daily podcasts from its going to be ok in the regular podcast. it feels like spam.

This episode is impossible to listen to. There is a track of a man and child talking over Nora talking and I can't understand what any of them are saying. Must be a mixing error. Completely un-listenable.

People can become toxic and co-dependant after life-changing events like divorce or even retirement. It's stressful, arduous and futile to believe as a friend, you're going to cure their rage or fix them, especially in middle-age. I've found the best option is to cut and run; a clean break and erasure of all numbers, emails and contacts.

I lost my Mother in 2007; she was full of pet phrases but my favorite was when she was truly tired she'd say, "I'm Jessica!" Code for Jessica Ass-draggin'. I lost my Husband in 2018; his humorous conceit was that he wasn't a "gushy" romantic. I would prompt him by asking, "Tell me all the ways you love me." His reply was always, "All the ways." When Megan Trainor came out with the song All The Ways it put my experience to music.
