It’s another one of those episodes that’s maybe not as well loved as most WD eps, right? So I’m glad to have Kelsey guesting with me, who was particularly interested in talking about this one, and we really dug into it. Mentioned: Kelsey’s podcast They Did What?! This finale, we think, is one of those episodes where if you squint just right, it’s full of holes, and if you shift your perspective just a little, it’s delightful! And we’re delighted to talk it out. Next time we’ll be going right back into the Walking Dead rewatch, and we really encourage anyone who hasn’t been listening along with us to that to jump back in! It’s great to revisit The Walking Dead. We’re really having a blast with it. Fun episode this week, with maybe a romance brewing between Carol and Antonio, and Daryl just trying to GTFO of town. I’m happy to be joined by longtime listener and friend, Megan Lehman. ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting next week, Jason will be covering Fallout on Wax Episodic. Have you seen this show? It’s a fun-yet-brutal, highly stylized, intelligent, funny post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama staring Ella Purnell (Jackie on Yellowjackets) and Walton Goggins (Rick, The White Lotus), and it’s fantastic. What can I say, this is a lot of people’s favorite episode of The Walking Dead, me included. Bonus Episode: Introducing Wax Episodic Hi, Jason here. This is a special bonus episode reposted from my new podcast, Wax Episodic, where I cover top-tier, story-rich TV shows one season at a time with different co-hosts. We’re kicking things off with Alien: Earth, and I wanted to share the first episode here so you can check it out. If you like it, please consider subscribing to Wax Episodic — it’s my new podcast home, and you can find it at waxepisodic.com. Or just search “Wax Episodic” wherever you get your podcasts. PS The one and only Karen will be joining me for the next show we’re covering on Wax Episodic: Vince Gilligan’s upcoming Pluribus! Alien: Earth S1E1&2: “Neverland” & “Mr. October” The wait is over — Alien: Earth has landed, and Noah Hawley’s first two episodes deliver everything we hoped for: suspense, grotesque alien terrors, strange new lifeforms, and a sharp look at how unchecked corporate ambition could shape our future — in a series that (at least so far) feels both classic and brand new. Oh my God, how great is it to get to revisit this incredible episode of The Walking Dead, with Rick ripping out Joe the Claimer’s throat by his teeth, Rick and Daryl’s heart-to-heart that cemented their brotherly bond from here out, and of course our group being herded into a train car like cattle by Gareth the freakin’ hipster cannibal. I mean, it’s gold! Join Lucy and Jason as we joyously talk it out Links: Jason’s interview with Andrew J. just sharing that, as a person of faith, I found it fascinating to learn other perspectives. I was not offended at all, many people who live a life of faith can respect other's belief systems. The entire story line of Gabriel is interesting. I loved the story line of Hershel (sr.) and his faith, and how much Maggie has changed as she started having at least some faith. Remembering back to the "She taught me to love" conversation with her dad at the farm.
