Keep your prayers in your places of worship.” That is the message coming from the province of Québec. With their commitment to state-neutrality regarding religion, the government of Québec is looking to table a bill that will ban prayer in public places. What has led up to this move? How do we square secularism with the freedom of religion? Is religious pluralism a good thing? Can the State be neutral and, if so, how?Tune in this week as we discuss a topic that will be of interest not only to Canadians but to all who live under a liberal democracy.
We all want to live a flourishing life—but what really leads to lasting happiness? Decades of research point to four essential keys. In this episode of the AC Podcast, Andy Steiger sits down with Doug Peters to unpack the findings, revealing how the data lines up with what the Bible has been saying all along.
Marriage is what brings us together—but why does the Bible seem so vague about the big day? While Scripture highlights marriage often, it says surprisingly little about the wedding itself. Earthly nuptials are meant to reflect Christ’s love for the Church, but do our modern wedding traditions actually serve that purpose? This week on the AC Podcast, the team unpacks whether our wedding customs are necessary—or even biblical at all.
This week on the AC podcast Ben sits down with apologist and theologian, Dr. Michael Horton. They unpack the growing trend of people embracing “spirituality” while rejecting organized religion. Today, many Christians even dabble in astrology, reincarnation, or just get drawn toward New Age practices. How can the church respond in truth and grace?Join us for a theological deep dive into how New Age philosophy has seeped into Christian thinking, and how followers of Jesus can engage a culture hungry for meaning but hesitant about the Gospel.
This week on the AC Podcast, we're diving into the timeless conversation: God and science—are they at odds, or more connected than we think?Andy Steiger sits down with Astrophysicist Dr. Mike Butler, who holds a PhD in Quantum Gravity, to explore the relationship between faith and scientific discovery.Does science point to the existence of God? Does belief in God make room for science? Or is the supposed middle ground too vague to stand on?Join Andy and Mike as they unpack these questions and challenge the narrative of "God vs. Science".
At first glance, the command to "honour your father and mother" seems simple—something we associate with childhood obedience and following the rules. But is that all it means? In this episode, we explore the deeper implications of this biblical command through the lens of apologetics. What does it mean to honour our parents as we grow into adulthood? How do we reconcile this command with moments like Jesus’ interaction with Mary in the temple—or again at the wedding in Cana? Was His honour expressed through obedience, or was it something richer and more complex?Join us as we unpack the layers of this commandment, moving beyond mere compliance to discover a fuller picture of love, respect, and honour that endures across all seasons of life.
This week on the AC Podcast, Troy, Ben, and first-time co-host—and one of AC's newest filmmakers, Trystan Klassen—take a closer look at the latest Superman movie. But this isn't your standard superhero review. We dig into the Man of Steel's inner struggles, moral choices, and crisis of identity to uncover some surprising biblical parallels. Not just with Jesus… but with Moses! From adoption and exile to hidden identity and reluctant leadership, there’s more biblical resonance here than you might expect.Join us for a fresh take on Krypton's finest that might just change how you see both the film, and the Bible.
If there’s one thing we all share, it’s the reality that one day we’ll say goodbye to someone we love. Loss touches each of us in some form—but how do we walk through it? Grief often leaves us at our most vulnerable, flooded with emotion. Even the most emotionally grounded individuals can find themselves reacting in ways that feel out of character—pushing people away or retreating into isolation. But what if there’s a better way? What if the gospel offers a more communal, redemptive path through grief?Join us for this week’s episode as we explore how faith can shape our experience of loss, and what it means to grieve together rather than alone.
In this week’s edition of the AC Podcast, we use the Nucleus Embryo program as a springboard for a deep dive into some of the most pressing ethical questions of our time. We unpack how technologies like IVF interlock with our view towards enhancing humanity, and whether this is a modern day form of eugenics. What does genetic “optimization” imply? Is there anything wrong with using technology to enhance human life? What are the promises and perils of human enhancement? Join us as we wrestle with these questions.
In a culture obsessed with hustle, achievement, and endless self-improvement, it’s easy to get caught in the exhausting pursuit of keeping up with the Joneses. But is this really the path to peace and meaning? In this episode, Andy, Steve, and Ben discuss "The Problem with Progress"—how the modern world defines our worth by what we do, what we build, or what we become. In contrast, the biblical worldview begins not with striving, but with surrender. Jesus' words on the cross—"It is finished"—offer a radical alternative to the achievement-driven mindset of our age.Join us as we unpack the deep implications of grace in a performance-obsessed culture, and ask: What if worship, not progress, is the foundation of our identity?
What does it really mean for Christian to love their enemies in a world full of division and conflict? This week, Andy sits down with Lindsay and Ben to unpack Jesus' radical command to love not just God, but those we'd rather avoid, oppose, or even hate! Can we show compassion to people we disagree with? How do we love our enemies without becoming a doormat? Whether you're wrestling with forgiveness, frustrated by cultural tensions, or just curious about what biblical love looks like today, this conversation is for you.
"Hey Grok, has A.I. become an idol?"This week on the AC Podcast, Andy, Wes, and Troy dive into that very question. With OpenAI enabling the creation of everything from muppets to talking babies and yeti vlogs, it’s easy to marvel at the creative possibilities a few prompts can unlock. But in our awe, have we placed too much hope in A.I.?While A.I. may be the wave of the future, the team unpacks what might happen when the initial wave of intrigue inevitably crashes—and what it could leave behind in its wake.
Have you ever panicked talking about Jesus with a non-believer? You're not alone - and it doesn't have to be that way!In this episode, Andy interviews Andy Bannister, Christian apologist and author of "How to Talk About Jesus Without Looking Like an Idiot". Tune in as Josh unpacks how the goodness and grace of God are everything we need for life and godliness.
In this episode, Andy and Wes journey to the windswept valleys of Cappadocia, a land carved by time and witness to the resilience of early Christians. They discuss the trials faced by the early Church and how their endurance speaks into the persecution of believers today. What is persecution? Do we throw that word around too casually? Join Andy and Wes as they reflect on how the light of the persecuted church illuminates our spiritual journey today.

Thanks for addressing this topic. You raise alot of good points for consideration. My church was recently involved in a local media fiasco that involved just this issue, so your conversation is quite timely for me. I pray the message of this podcast, and of true identity, encourages many church leaders across Canada

I just want the choice to say no to the vaccine. This is the issue that I am most concerned about. Where there is a risk (and the risks are huge, especially with RNA vaccines!), there must be a choice!
