Description

The Alien Adventures of Finn Caspian is a serialized science-fiction story for kids (start with Episode 1), told in 15-20 minute episodes for parents to put on when driving around town, or to marathon on road trips, or to bond over before bed. The story centers on Finn Caspian, an 8-year-old boy aboard The Famous Marlowe 280 Interplanetary Exploratory Space Station. He and his friends Abigail, Elias and Vale are Explorers Troop 301, taking off from the Marlowe to explore uncharted planets, help the occasional alien, and solve a mystery that threatens to destroy the Marlowe. When pressed, we describe it as a "mystery gang" story, sort of like Scooby-Doo in space.

The story is written and performed by Jonathan Messinger, author of Hiding Out, former web editor of Time Out Chicago Kids, and father of two boys. His son Griffin, 7, serves as editor of the story, appearing in episodes to critique, make predictions and express skepticism that his father knows what he's talking about, which also happens to be the way the rest of their relationship works.

When last we saw Finn and the members of Explorers Troop 301, they were off limits in the Robot Factory, and someone was coming in the door to catch them. Will they be able to do it? Many thanks to Mark Greenberg of the Mayfair Workshop for his theme music. The outro music is called "Shiny Spaceship" by 8-Bit Ninja, and was used via Creative Commons license. With the Marlowe still recovering from the monster attack, Finn and his friends get into a little mischief aboard the station. But that all comes to an end when they're sent on their first exploring mission, to a planet they've been told will be peaceful, quiet, and maybe even a little bit boring. The good (bad) news is that their visit turns anything but boring. We're still collecting alien jokes and names for our robot. Send them in!Many thanks to Mark Greenberg of the Mayfair Workshop for his theme music. The outro music is called "Shiny Spaceship" by 8-Bit Ninja, and was used via Creative Commons license. On today's episode, we find out why Explorers Troop 301 has been sucked underground by the mysterious alien race called the Dwellers…and it's not good! Turns out the Dwellers give a whole new meaning to the term "Baby Boomers." Will Finn and friends find Elias? Will they make it back out? What is the strange object found by one of the friendly Patiens? And most importantly: WHAT IS MY ROBOT'S NAME? All of these questions will be answered in today's episode. Also, it's time to refill the joke bin! Finn and the rest of the Explorers Troop 301 return to the Marlowe to find that not everyone is as excited to put all the puzzle pieces together as they are. In fact, they feel shipped off on their new mission to a beautiful, verdant planet. But not everything is as pristine and pretty as it seems at first, and the kids need to run for their lifebobs! Also on today's episode, we revealed BeeBop's expensive diet, and how you, dear listener, can help by sending in your art. Also, it's time to refill the joke bin! Send one in!Many thanks to Mark Greenberg of the Mayfair Workshop for his theme music. The outro music is called "Shiny Spaceship" by 8-Bit Ninja, and was used via Creative Commons license. In today's episode, the kids in Troop 301 find themselves exploring their own home the way they would an alien planet. There are reportedly aliens aboard the Famous Marlowe 280 Interplanetary Exploratory Space Station, and the troop is finding evidence all around. But that's not even the big news aboard the Marlowe. There's a new robot in town, and Finn and Foggy aren't too happy about it.Also, it's time to refill the joke bin! Send one in!Many thanks to Mark Greenberg of the Mayfair Workshop for his theme music. The outro music is called "Shiny Spaceship" by 8-Bit Ninja, and was used via Creative Commons license. On today's episode, the Explorers Troop head to another planet, but this time with a number of guests in tow. Finn and Foggy make up, but Voltronix Zu isn't exactly ingratiating himself to the Explorers Troop on the trip. Also, we're soliciting questions for BeeBop, so send yours in to beebop@finncaspian.com.
