Feeling overwhelmed and unable to do, create, and be allll the things that you have in your vision/mind on a daily basis? Being a new mom of 2 under 2 and running a multiple-six figure business in 3 days a week - I get it. In today’s episode, I share the exact process I use to shift out of overwhelm, get clear on the next steps, and take aligned action - even when things feel hard. Key Takeaways: The Energy Trap: Often, it's the energy surrounding tasks, not the tasks themselves, that drains us. We get caught in a cycle of worrying and thinking instead of actually doing. It's Normal: Don't beat yourself up for feeling overwhelmed. It's a common experience, especially as entrepreneurs. The key is to become strategic about managing your thoughts. The Lifechanging Magic of Tidying Your MIND: Clear your mind by writing down everything that's swirling around in your head. This helps you visualize the clutter and prioritize what needs attention. Weekly & Daily Action Plans: Create simple routines and rhythms for your week and day. Start with a few key tasks that will set you up for success. Focus on Value: Identify tasks that provide the most value to your clients and bring in revenue. Don't be afraid to cut out unnecessary tasks. Take Action: Don't just think about it, do it! The act of taking action can often dissipate the overwhelming energy. Action Steps The Brain Dump: Write down everything on your mind, no matter how small. Prioritize: Separate essential tasks from non-essential ones. Create Action Plans: Develop weekly and daily task lists. Focus on Value: Ensure your tasks are aligned with your business goals and client value. Take Action: Don't wait; start implementing these strategies today! Are you ready to implement these strategies? Take a moment right now to write down your thoughts and start your action plan. As always, if you have questions, feedback, or ah-ha’s, we LOVE hearing from you! Email us at info@krissyleonard.com or send me a DM over on Instagram at @xokrissyleonard. Recently, a colleague told me, “I’m totally burnt out, but I have to keep going to pay the bills. What do I do?” Oooo, SUCH a juicy topic! So much in the online coaching space is about “just relax into your feminine” or “honor rest, your cycle, your mood…etc,” but what do you do when you don’t have that option? In this episode, we'll dive deep into the challenges of feeling exhausted, burnout, or “not in your vibes,” AND you’ll learn practical strategies to take care of your energy while still maintaining all of the responsibilities of your business and life. By creating mental space, prioritizing tasks, and engaging in restorative practices, we can overcome burnout and continue to move forward with renewed energy and focus. Here are some inspiring takeaways to keep in mind when dealing with burnout: 1. Allow yourself to feel and validate your emotions. Remember, it's okay to feel exhausted and overwhelmed when faced with multiple demands. 2. Create mental whitespace to prioritize your energy and attention. Identify the energy-draining issues and focus on what truly matters. 3. Do less, better. Instead of spreading yourself too thin, focus on high-impact tasks that move you forward and generate income. 4. Prioritize and eliminate unnecessary tasks. Focus only on those that directly serve your current clients or bring in new paying clients, and let go of the rest. 5. Focus on clear action steps and break down tasks into manageable steps to avoid feeling overwhelmed and promote a sense of accomplishment. 6. Slow down, but don't stop. Take small breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge without completely disengaging from work. 7. Practice "resting in the doing" and focus on completing tasks without judgment, even if you're not at 100%. 8. Incorporate “mini-vacations” to regulate your nervous system and find moments of calm amidst the chaos. Utilize techniques like yoga nidra or deep breathing exercises to find your inner peace. On today's podcast, we have Sophie Jones, a survivor of human trafficking, a five-time entrepreneur, and a certified breathwork practitioner. This is one of those episodes that you record, and you just know there's so much magic in it and that everybody you know needs to LISTEN... Today, we talk about... How to turn your biggest shame into your greatest strength as a person and a business owner. How to pivot your business or your life when it feels out of alignment with your values. How Sophie went from running for her life to creating five successful businesses. How to know when to burn it all down and start over versus continuing on the path. The peril of ambitious women and how things can look really good from the outside when, inside, things are completely f*&%*ed up (Sophie and I both share our own personal stories of dating drug dealers and binge drinking alone). Choosing habits that didn't work even though we had all the tools to change them into something. How I really felt about my transition from living in Hawaii to moving into the woods in Vermont, I got really real and honest about what was going on in my personal life and what I was showing on Instagram. Tune in if you want a really honest, raw conversation between two successful businesswomen who have been able to build and burn down multiple businesses over the years so that you can learn how to trust your own unique path and develop the strength and resilience to finally meet your potential. About Sophie: Follow:@the_sophie.jones Check out Sophie's Program: Step Out Of Survival and Back Into Self-Trust Method Sophie Jones, CEO and Founder of Sophie Jones Sacred Coaching, LLC, is a distinguished business coach and breathwork facilitator with a compelling narrative. Her commitment lies in assisting entrepreneurs and professionals in overcoming limiting patterns that hinder personal and professional growth. Reflecting on her personal journey, Sophie faced adversity in her early twenties as a victim of human trafficking. Undeterred, she immersed herself in personal development and hard work, obtaining her real estate license at 23 and becoming a top producer in four different cities within a 12-year time period. In 2018, Sophie underwent a transformative shift, redefining her concept of success. Confronting challenges such as alcoholism and workaholism, she embraced sobriety and discovered the profound impact of breathwork. This pivotal moment set her on a path to guide individuals with similar experiences. Sophie specializes in working with outwardly successful individuals – CEOs, creatives, and entrepreneurs – who, despite conventional success, grapple with feelings of unworthiness and self-sabotage. Her approach focuses on internal transformations, helping clients achieve success from within. Sophie's no-nonsense personality creates an environment conducive to openness, facilitating significant transformations for her clients. CEOs, creatives, and entrepreneurs seek Sophie's guidance, recognizing that finding her is not by chance but a result of their higher selves leading the way.
Today we are talking about my favorite topic of all time – Visioning. I first learned about this practice about 10 years ago when I was working as a marketing manager for a natural foods store. The management team was researching a company called Zingerman’s out in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This small but mighty business was seeing record profits and buy-in from their employees and customers – like no one had ever seen before! And it turns out Ari Weinzweig, the Co-Founder, was using this exercise called Visioning to imagine the success of the business AND to bring his employees on board. Having a background in yogic philosophy, meditation, and psychology, something really clicked for me – it was like, WHOA… this is like manifestation, but for BUSINESS. I was instantly obsessed. Over the past decade, I’ve distilled this process into a powerful practice that aligns both business strategy + energetics to create rapid manifestation in your business and life. Clients who use this practice say that it is nothing short of a GAME CHANGER. I hope you enjoy today's podcast! I go WAY further into how to create a vision for your business and life for the New Year, my upcoming FREE workshop happening January 10th at 12:00pm EST. You can sign up at www.alignedfemaleentrepreneur.com/visioning-workshop I’ll see you there!
In today's interview, I'm excited to share an insightful conversation with Rachel Rider, a Leadership Coach and the owner of Mettaworks. She is also the author of a new book titled "Who You Are is How You Lead." Our discussion delves into the deeper aspects of leadership and how to embody it. This training is suitable for anyone who wants to expand their impact, grow their audience, hire and build a team, or establish themselves as an expert in their field. This is jam-packed with strategies and tools that you can use to uplevel your leadership and do the deeper work to create a more significant impact in the world. We cover how to lead yourself through fear and anxiety so that you can show up more fully in your business and not resort to dysfunctional habits (like Netflix binges or overworking and burning out) that are crushing your dream. Rachel shares a powerful visualization technique to tap into your feminine leadership so that you can show up more confidently in the boardroom, in front of your team, or for your clients. We talk about how doing the deep end of our work is really the only shortcut to success and how we both lead ourselves through the challenges and our business and serve our clients more powerfully as a result (I think you'll get a lot out of these real-world examples that we both share) so that you can normalize the challenges of leadership while still embodying your capacity to lead. Rachel is a Columbia University certified executive coach with over a decade of coaching experience. She sets her practice apart by drawing from both traditional and alternative modalities, including Somatic Experiencing, Polarity Therapy, Zen Buddhism, Inner Relationship Focusing, and antiracism. Her aim is to see, hear, and feel a client’s needs with utmost clarity in order to bring about profound, lasting, and measurable results. Rachel also draws from firsthand in-house leadership experience, first as Bloomberg’s HR Business Partner responsible for developing and coaching leaders and teams and then in charge of leadership coaching at AppNexus (since acquired by AT&T) and Digital Ocean, the third-largest hosting company in the world. It was in these roles that she began to develop the modalities that underpin the MettaWorks method and motivate the launch of her coaching practice. After earning her executive coaching certification through Columbia University, Rachel founded MettaWorks in 2015. She has gone on to complete a three-year intensive certification in Somatic Experiencing and training in Polarity Therapy, and she continues her decades-long meditation practice with Shugen Arnold Roshi, successor to Zen Mountain Monastery founder John Daido Loori Roshi. As a very important part of her ongoing growth and study, Rachel works with antiracism coach Makeda Pennycooke. During a recent discussion in our Aligned Earning Mastermind, we discussed how to help clients who tend to ramble and steer them toward a breakthrough. I’d like to share some coaching strategies you can implement immediately to help your clients achieve deeper insights and better outcomes. We have all had that client who just keeps on talking and talking, leaving us unsure of how to jump in, get to the point, or find a space to introduce all the amazing content you have prepared for the session. It can be frustrating when you see your client being held back by their story and failing to achieve the breakthrough they came for. HERE ARE A FEW SIMPLE TIPS TO HELP YOU MOVE YOUR CLIENT OUT OF THEIR STORY AND INTO A BIGGER BREAKTHROUGH: Make sure you are not making this about you. Always view your clients as capable and resourceful adults. Keep an eye out for co-dependent tendencies, such as wanting to rescue your client, achieve a particular outcome, or prove yourself right. It’s important to question whether there is really a problem. Often, my clients whom I thought I wasn’t getting anywhere with … were the ones who said our conversations changed their entire lives – and we worked together for years and years as a result! Embrace deep listening. Often, your clients are opening up because they feel safe with you – this is a GOOD thing. Have you ever encountered someone who was ACTUALLY listening to you and not planning their next comment or solution? There is a sense of space that feels SO good. Remember to consider the VALUE you are providing by allowing your clients the space to talk and truly be heard. Often, through deep listening, you will get SO much out of what they are sharing – patterns, belief systems, blocks, and dreams that you can use and draw from as you deepen your relationship. Pre-frame your intentions to interject on their behalf. Especially powerful in group settings like a women’s circle or a group coaching program – PREFRAME rather than REFRAME – so much easier to say, “Everyone is going to get one minute to share; when you hear the bell, please wrap up your thought so that we have time for everyone to share” rather than awkwardly trying to get someone to end their thought process while the group is glazing over and you are watching the time on the clock tick down. You can also say, “I might interrupt you or ask you to “bottom line” something – this is not to be rude or not because I don’t want to hear everything you have to say – it is in service to you having the breakthrough you came here for. When in a “Closing the Deal” or client call. People naturally talk about what is not going well – this is an excellent opportunity to step into your leadership and gently guide your people from their story of the past and into the vision they want to create. A couple of ways of saying this: “Mary, I want to pause you for a second. This is all so good. And I am noticing that you are sharing a lot about what you DON’T want – this is so normal and natural; as humans, we are programmed to focus on what is NOT going well instead of what is. But I want to stretch you here to focus solely on what you DO desire. Imagine we didn’t have to worry about the “how” or even the past; we could wave the magic wand, and in 3-6 months, it’s already happened, and you have all that you desire. What would that look like for you?” When in a client session. You can use the above. Check your own filter and see if your client is getting value or if you are just feeling the urge to “do” something. Allow them to share, hold space, and really LISTEN before moving to the next step. You can use the “pause” or “bottom line” technique – mostly, I find it most helpful to reflect on what you are hearing and then gently guide them to the next step. This will stretch your client out of the old thinking that has them getting their current results and into the new way of thinking that will get them new results. Simply asking the question “What do you want?” works MIRACLES. Ex. “I’m hearing that work is overwhelming, and it’s been hard to exercise with everything on your plate. I’m curious – what is the outcome you want? What would that look like if it could all go perfectly for you?” “How would you know that you had what you wanted? What would you be seeing or experiencing?” Next, ask, “What is stopping you or getting in your way?” And finally, “What is one small step you could take this week to move toward that vision?” This “breakthrough” question series will help your client move out of the repetitive cycle of thoughts that are keeping them stuck and into aligned ACTION – which is where all the magic happens I’d love to hear from you! Was this helpful? Which part can you implement this week to start to bring your clients into deeper awareness and deliver even more incredible results?
