The mental load is all the mental work, the organising, list-making and planning, that you do to manage your life, and that of those dependent on you. Most of us carry some form of mental load, about our work, household responsibilities, financial obligations and personal life; but what makes up that burden and how it's distributed within households is not always equal (www.abc.net.au). Empowering yourself starts with the story you tell yourself. Change your story, change your life. Reshaping our image of ourselves can be difficult, especially when we hold such negative beliefs about ourselves.  Well we are living proof that stories can change and it starts by how you talk about yourself.  In this episode we discuss Dr. David Krueger 7 step strategy for reshaping any disempowering mental story you may have of yourself.  In case you're unable to write down the steps, here they are for you.  1. Recognise Authorship - If you're serious about improving your life you must recognise that YOU are the author of your story. 2. Be Accountable - Once you are aware of authorship you must become accountable. You have to own your story if your serious about making changes to it. 3. Assess Your Story - What is your story made up of? What are the recurring patterns of beliefs? What's the story line? Who are the characters? 4. Decide What to Change - What parts of the story do you want to change? And what parts of the story do you need to let go of? 5. Map your Changes - Everyone needs a road map to get from Point A to point B. What do you need to do to get there? 6. Start Authoring New Experiences - Create affirmations, visualizations, and real life experiences that validate your NEW STORY line.  7. Program a New Identity - Along with creating a new life story, it is CRUCIAL you create a new sense of self-image.  On another note, stay tuned to our IG stories for how you can enter the Alpha Babes Podcast Giveaway. We will draw the winner LIVE on 13th October.
This podcast was inspired by Edith Eger work. If you haven't read her books - The Choice and The Gift, we highly recommend them.  One of our first fears is of abandonment. We learn from an early age to get the 3 As - Attention, Affection and Approval from others. We figure out what to do, or whom to become in order to get our needs met. Edith discusses that the problem isn't about doing these things in the first place but that we KEEP doing them because we think we must in order to be loved.  It is dangerous to put our whole life into someone else's  hands. We must become the source of our own 3As. Tune in as we discuss some personal stories of how our 3As were met by others and the tips we go about in order to be our own source of love and power.  As Edith puts so beautifully - "You are the only one you're going to have for a lifetime. So how can you be the best loving, unconditional, no-nonsense caregiver to yourself?
"Energy flows where attention goes." - Tony Robbins.   To get what you really want in life you need to me mindful of who your surround yourself with. In fact, one of the quickest hacks in life is to surround yourself with people who lift you up. Our energy is precious. If you find yourself in relationships that sap the energy out of you, or environments that are toxic for your wellbeing, see that as cue to get the hell out of there.  Friendships do not last forever. In fact, most often than not, people will come in and out of your life for season to teach you something about yourself. It's  hard to let go of relationships, however, if they are no longer serve you or bring energy to your life you best to let it go so you can flow freely again. Project your energy, it's precious.  Tune in as we discuss our journeys with friendships and what we've learned along the way.  Leave us a comment with what resonated with you.  On another note. We are doing a give-away to all our podcast listeners. Stay tuned to this week's podcast for more details of how you can enter. Alpha Babes Podcasts drop every Tuesday at 6pm (AEST) Australian Eastern Standard Time. . #alphababespodcast @alphababes #motivation #revup #hardtruths #sisters
We're doing a twist on our Motivational Rev Ups. We are focusing on the messages that YOU need to hear more. Sometimes we get stuck in telling the same old story about ourselves, you know the one that focuses on what we don't like and what we don't have.  We are here to tell you otherwise - Who you are matters and the gift you give to this world is being unapologetically yourself.   Tune in for a laugh and leave empowered.  On a side note. We need a new way to sign off our podcast. Leave us a comment. "Peace" is so last season.
Do you have a healthy period? For years I suffered with horrendous period pain. I thought that was just part of the gig being a girl.   It wasn't until my mid 30s that I discovered I had Endometriosis. One in ten women will be diagnosed. Tune in as I share what I wish I knew earlier.  To all my endo womb sisters - I feel your pain.  Much love, Hannah x
