The America Show

An un-ironic exploration of American history, culture, ideas and the forces that shaped the country. This show seeks to investigate the question "What is America?" More than a political show, we will scour the American countryside (and the world) to learn the culture and ideas that have shaped America, and thus move toward a more unified and prosperous future.

We also discussed the book by Ben Sass "The Vanishing American Adult: Our Coming of Age Crisis." There are many issues that impact our lives, and we often think that we have no control over what happens to us. This simply is not true. And when it comes to politics, it may be true that your individual actions have little sway over national politics, you have a very powerful voice when it comes to city and state politics.

From her beacon-handGlows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes commandThe air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries sheWith silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
