Hey hey hey! We’re back with the 3rd episode of our podcast – Sian & Shreya’s LinkedIn Rewind, where they discuss the week gone by on LinkedIn. For the 3rd episode, Sian and Shreya decided that it would be interesting to talk about who exactly can use LinkedIn. Since a lot of people think of LinkedIn as simply a recruitment tool or a platform meant just for industry professionals, they decided to debunk some of these mysteries in their upcoming episode. We’re already on to the 2nd episode of our podcast – Sian & Shreya’s LinkedIn Rewind, where they discuss the week gone by on LinkedIn. For our second episode, Sian and Shreya picked up where they left off last week. In this episode, they talk about the importance of [using] pictures on LinkedIn. They found some pretty great examples that conveyed this message in different ways. Some pictures supplemented the copy and others spoke a thousand words on their own. All in all, all of these posts had one thing in common – they reflected how important it is to post pictures on LinkedIn and how you can go about doing it ways that suit you. We spend so much of our day on social media and LinkedIn, I mean that's our job right? There is SO much content on LinkedIn posted every second, and that's just 1 platform. This week, one of our favourite posts was from Stephen Paul Wright and we loved it because we thought the picture alone said one thousand words! Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that his costume is a reference to one of the biggest memes of the year. All he had to do to get great engagement was post a picture of his costume and his job was done. It clearly shows you how powerful a picture can be. You've seen it (or heard it) here first.

On this episode of Origin Story, I sat down with Te Omeka. If there is one thing you take away from this talk, it must be the idea of Kaizen. 'The relentless pursuit of excellence' You can see this idea throughout Te Omeka's journey through life. Each time he went through a challenge in life or a learning moment, he reflected on it, realised how he could tweak it for next time and then stored that information away for later in life when the opportunity next presented itself to improve upon what he had learnt. An amazing journey by an amazing man.

In this episode of Origin Story I spoke with Kristin Harper the Founder and Director of Harper Consultancy. Who focuses on his three pillars of Sales, Technology and Maori. He brings a huge range of Sales Leadership in to a business environment that helps companies generate more sales through an 'Old School' approach based on creating long lasting mutually beneficial partnerships with clients.  We dug deep in to Kristin's back story to understand where his resilience comes from and why at this stage of his life he has the "I just don't care attitude' when it comes to people opinions of him. It isn't that he is arrogant, it is that he is so content with who he has become that he is no longer looking for the approval of others. With a new young family in tow his future looks full of love and success and so to hear his story is to understand that not all roads are easy and that sometimes the harder journey is the one that provides the greener pastures.

In this episode of Origin Story, I had the pleasure of speaking with Howard Youngs a Senior Lecturer Leadership in Education at Auckland University of Technology. This episode was one full of thought-provoking questions and ideas, and I left this talk with more questions then when I went in and I’m so grateful for that fact. It gave me a new light on leadership and its role in society and the workplace. I can not wait to have further talks with Howard and pick his brain further.

In this episode of Origin Story I chat with a good friend Liesel who is the owner of Founder of The Retreats Specialists & Retreats at Resorts.
