Hello lovely listeners! This week's episode is the first of a four-part series on the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, which was a Youtube adaptation that ran from Spring 2012 to Spring 2013. As there are over a hundred episodes we decided to split it up in in order to be able to talk more fully about the content. In this first part, we talk about the way the cast members embody their roles, the relationships we see on screen, and how much we love Mary Kate Wiles, who plays Lydia. Join us on our epic journey as we rediscover a fan (and personal) favorite!

This musical stars Martin Henderson as Will Darcy and Aishwarya Rai as Lalita Bakshi, who is our Elizabeth Bennet character. Listen as we discuss dancing, musical numbers, and how much we loved seeing Wickham get beat up. As a side note, we hope everyone is staying healthy out there!

Starring Kam Heskin and Orlando Seale as Elizabeth Bennet and Will Darcy, this movie focuses on their lives as imagined in Provo, Utah. Hello dear listeners! Season's Greetings from the Austen Archives! We know we said we would start Pride and Prejudice this week, and we kind of did, but the episode on the 1940 movie starring Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier will take place next time! This week, we're looking at the musical Austen's Pride, which both Jules and I saw in Seattle not too long ago. We figured it was a cute kind of bonus episode to do over the holidays, so listen in as we talk about Jane Austen's life, the way our favorite characters from Pride and Prejudice translate into something like a musical, and how the actors in this were doing THE MOST.
First off, we would like to apologize for this episode being a week late! Neither of us realized last weekend was a holiday weekend, and as such couldn't find the time to record! In this episode, we discuss the last 16 episodes of the YouTube series Elinor and Marianne Take Barton, and say goodbye to Sense and Sensibility. Join us as we talk about what we look for in adaptations, as well as how we feel about this iteration of some of our favorite characters, and how the last half of this series took us down a rabbit hole. And then, next time, it's on to Pride and Prejudice!
In this week's episode, Jules and Sofia talk about the 2014 Youtube series Elinor and Marianne Take Barton. This will be the first of two episodes on this series, since we didn't want to have to discuss all 32 episodes at once. Join us as we talk about problematic behaviors, having university students be actors, and why was Willoughby the only one with his name changed??
In this week's episode, listen in as Jules and Sofia discuss Scents and Sensibility, a 2011 made-for-TV movie by Hallmark! Episode highlights include questioning what a modern-day adaptation of Jane Austen's work should look like, forced plot-points, and how much we appreciate Brandon slapping Willoughby!

Starring Alexa PenaVega and Camilla Belle playing Marianne and Elinor respectively, listen in as we talk about family, choices made, and the sisterly relationship we see in this adaptation. It's definitely a fun one!
In this week's episode Jules and Sofia explore this 2008 BBC adaptation, which boasts a pretty A- to- B-list cast, including Dominic Cooper and Dan Stevens, as well as Charity Wakefield and Hattie Morahan. Listen in as we discuss the beauty of this adaptation, as well as how actions often speak louder than words, and how Dan Stevens is way too charming to play an awkward Edward!
In this week's episode Jules and Sofia talk about Martha Coolidge's 2006 film Material Girls, which was said to be very, very loosely based on Sense and Sensibility. Listen as we talk about which sister we think is which, the script, and how sometimes all a movie really needs to be is a good time! With a bunch of great 2006 blasts from the past, of course!
