On this episode of The Autro Action Rev Limiter, Andrew, Bruce, and PG break down the Betty Klimenko interview from the latest edition of Auto Action (AA1889), the reasons why she has finally spoken out—hint: she's sick of people making things up—and why things are the way they are. PS: Barry Ryan is still the CEO, in case you heard differently elsewhere. We've got all the latest news and plenty of F1 discussion.
In this edition of The Auto Action RevLimiter, we spend a lot of time talking about the Supercars in Darwin… and it is mostly all good. James Golding was great, Broc Feeney was brilliant, Brodie Kostecki was back, and the Fords were slow. Plus, who wasn’t there, and why was only one absentee written about for a story? Was there a pretty weak attempt at public humiliation and revenge?   Also, in Supercars, we talk about the Perth street race and take a swipe at the naysayers who have been talking it and the sport down. We say you were wrong.   The 24 Hour of Le Mans excited Bruce and PG, who watched the entire race… not. Well, they watched enough to be truly excited about another Ferrari win at one of the greatest sporting events in the world.   We have some news and not much else this week.
Shane van Gisbergen has gone back-to-back with a win in Sonoma to follow on from his win the week before in Portland in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, while his antipodean mates – Will Brown and Cam Waters – had mixed debuts in the NASCAR Cup Series… but both showed enough to stay on the radar or the US teams looking for the next Giz? We hear one of them is even being chased by two teams. Max Verstappen was back on top in Formula 1 in Canada, but he had to work for this win in the rain as both Lando Norris and George Russell stuffed up any chance of a win. Dan Ricciardo was fired up by comments from Jacques Villeneuve on the telecast questioning whether he was ever good enough to be in F1 at all. P5 gave ur Dan all the ammunition he needed to take aim at the Canadian former champion. Plus, we’ve got all the latest news on Supercars, F1, IndyCar, and whatever else came to our minds at the time. We also look at the Darwin Supercars and the hypercars at Le Mans for the 24-hour race. So, join us now for the Auto Action RevLimiter and make sure you check on the website for all the latest news and for the digital magazine – www.autoaction.com.au
Shane van Gisbergen won his first Xfinity Series race on the weekend in Portland, a week before Cam Waters and Will Brown join him as Cup Series drivers. The NASCAR racing was typically entertaining too. Esteban Ocon has been fired, but will young Aussie Jack Doohan get the job next year? Jack Miller lost his KTM factory ride for the 2025 season to Peda Acosta, but Miller remains confident of securing a competitive ride, likely with Tech3. Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia secured his third consecutive Italian Motorcycle Grand Prix victory, maintaining pressure on series leader Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez. Scott Dixon emerged victorious at the Detroit IndyCar street race, extending his series lead over Alex Palou. Toby Price, Paul Weel, and Brent Bauman claimed victory at the Baja 500, while various winners emerged at The Bend's secret Speed Series meeting. Jock Goodyer received top honours at the 2024 Australian Speedway Awards, and Peugeot received a significant Balance of Performance adjustment for Hypercars at Le Mans, affecting various manufacturers. And we start the loose stuff; again, we set about fixing Supercars and addressing the $20m loss. Oh yeah, we take a quick peak at #F1 in Canada.
On this edition of the Auto Action Rev Limiter, we debrief a massive weekend of Motorsport; we certainly had some massive nights down under. Josef Newgarden won the Indy 500 with a last-lap pass, Christopher Bell won the big NASCAR race, and Charles Le Clerc won a typical Monaco Grand Prix... it may have the glamour, but it doesn't race well. Andrew, Bruce and PG talk about all that and more... like Aussie's winning in F4 and GT3 races and standing on the podium in F2. And then there's the RACE - the owners of Supercars - reporting better financials than the year before. It is all there in this edition of The Auto Action Rev Limiter. And don't forget to check out the digital magazine at https://autoaction.com.au/
It was a big motorsport weekend, that's for sure. Ford broke its duck with a pair of wins in Perth, one each for Chaz Mostert and Cam Waters, and we do a deep dive into what happened. Max Verstappen had another win, but he is now actually having to work for them as the McLarens close in. Then there was qualifying for the Indy 500 and a Penske lockout of the front row, with Scotty Mac the fastest driver ever at the biggest sporting venue in the world. Will Power is second and Joesf Newgarden is next. All that and more on the Auto Action Rev Limiter. For the latest news and more on the above, jump on the Auto Action website and make sure you flick through the digital magazine and sign up for your weekly notification.
On this week's show, Andrew, Bruce and PG rejoice at the return of #Supercars after what feels like and eternity, but is only four weeks. We preview the Perth round in this week's Auto Action RevLimiter. We've got all the news, including Cam Waters' #NASCAR Cup Series debut, Jett Lawrence's stunning Motocross Championship win, Oscar's better than Lando Drive and Andrew Miedecke wanting a dedicated 6-hour GT4 at Bathurst the day before the 12-Hour. Plus we're back to #F1 racing with consequences and Imola is toughened up with reduced run-offs. https://autoaction.com.au/
The Miami F1 Grand Prix finally turned it on, and for the first time this year Max Verstappen was beaten on the track. McLaren launched the attack, first with Oscar Piastri and then by Lando Norris who had a bit more luck with the Safety Cars. He pulled away for a maiden win. We have plenty of F1 talk and a little bit of Supercars, F4 and New Zealand. And don't forget to check out autoaction.com.au
It is 30 years since Ayrton Senna died at Imola, and our crew goes behind the scenes with untold stories. Plus, where will Adrian Newey go, and is he worth EURO150 a year? Then, in Supercars, where will they go and will they go often enough in 2025 - inside the calendar with details that only we are talking about. And the Erebus sales rumours won't go away, but did we miss the clues last year? And what about a Peterwit - can he find the money to make an offer? Plus, NASCAR, IndyCar, WEC, IMSA and Motorsport Australia dump $1m. This is the Auto Action RevLimiter.
We're back from our weekend in Taupo (Tow Paw), and what an unbelievable first weekend for that venue. It was, we felt, the start of this season, too, despite it being the third round. Andrew and Bruce were there, and PG was on the couch. Brodie Kostecki was back for Erebus, Andre Heimgartner won for Brad Jones Racing, and Will Brown battled his teammate Broc Feeney for the other win. Anton De Pasquale also won the Jason Richards Trophy for the best performer over the two races - is Dick Johnson Racing back? There was some F1 and NASCAR, but we wanted to talk about Taupo.
After a break that feels like months, the Supercars Championship is back and headed across the ditch to Taupo in the middle of the North Island. And yes, Brodie Kostecki will be there! As will the rain. Somehow, the rain will also be in China for F1's return to 中国. Philip Island was stunning on the weekend, just gone, if a little cold, but we chatted about whether Supercars should return to the land of penguins. Plus, there's more... all the news in the way only the Auto Action RevLimiter can deliver. #Supercars #F1 #GT3 #Taupo #NZ #ChinaGP
Brodie Kostecki is back! The 2023 Champion has cured his ills with Erebus Motorsport and will be back in the Supercars Championship for Taupo next week. Our fearless crew gets deep into the mire and steps around the Peterwits to discuss what it means for the sport and what it has meant. We chat about the passing of Bev Brock, an icon of the Australian motorsport scene whose loss will be felt by many. Then we talk about the return of boredom to F1 and refuse to talk about the team that won. It's childish, but at least we’re not nasty. All this and the latest news in this edition of The Auto Action RevLimiter.
This week we had to work hard for Supercar News, but we found some. It was easier in Speedway with the Easter Trail and the new speedway opening at Eastern Creek. Liberty Media has bought MotoGP, there was the Bathurst 6-Hour, the World Rally Championship in Kenya and, of course, a NASCAR wrap-up with drivers throwing broken bumpers at rivals. We talk about why Formula E is boring and irrelevant, and then ramble our way through the latest F1 news... where should Carlos Sainz go?  Don't forget to jump onto the Auto Action website to sign-up for the free digital copy of the magazine, and hard copy is out tomorrow.
The Auto Action Rev Limiter debriefs the Australian Grand Prix, Andrew and Bruce from trackside and PG from the couch... and all three were excited that Max Verstappen didn't win and that Carlos Sainz. Oscar Piastri nearly pulled off a podium and he clearly won the merchandise sales battle with everyone else. The Supercars raced without pitstops and it was good. Will Brown won the weekend and the Mustangs found new ways to hit each other. There's more too... Shane van Gisbergen and NASCAR, MotoGP and a million dollars IndyCar race without points.  And what is it with Track Limits, why has NASCAR joined the slippery slope into absurdity? It was the last bastion for motorsport, now it is just another class making a mockery of itself. If you want track limits, give them consequences not time penalties. And the Supercars App and Website still suck.
It is Australian Grand Prix, and our fearless trio put it all the line trying to work out if Oscar Piastri can beat Max,  and what will the Supercars do without fans at the track on Thursday twilight or in the paddock. Plus we look at the Boardroom stoush at RACE, the owners of Supercars. Then there's Race Tasmania, the dummy spit, and the $10,000 prize to an Excel racer. And F1 on the streets of Adelaide.
F1 was another snoozefest, but everywhere else the action was hot. In stifling heat the Phillip Island Classic produced some of the most stunning old racers this country and New Zealand have to offer and the racing was good too, a lot of them now go to Adelaide this weekend. PG thought the NASCARs were racing in a car park they were using so much of the verge, and Filipe Massa has decided to spend a lot of money on lawyers to try and overturn the 2008 World Championship. And then we look at the Supercars at the Grand Prix and speculate on who might get their first win...All this and more.
Hooray, F1 is back. Boo, Max Verstappen wins. The Bahrain Grand Prix was a little underwhelming, but at least there was racing... and scandal. There was plenty of scandel, but we don't do that stuff apparently, so we don't talk about Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner and noted female rights activist Jos Verstappen.  But we do talk Supercars, and there might not have been racing but there was plenty happening. The IndyCar Championship starts this weekend, and we look at whether Scott McLaughlin can win. We don't talk about hats either, because, frankly we don't care. It is not a big news item mate, get over it.
Bruce is back this week after sitting on the bench with illness and a lack of fuel, and he joins Andrew and PG on the Auto Action Rev Limiter as they look at the latest in motorsport. Like a debrief of the first round of the Supercars Championship from Bathurst, plus we look at Super2 and wonder how six racing laps is worth 300 points, Touring Car Masters and the journey back to prominence, NASCAR, or more specifically Shane van Gisbergen, and a little motor racing series called Formula One.
This is it folks, there 's no more posturing and no more of the who did what to whom talk, this weekend Supercars gets to fight fair in the opening round of the season at the Bathurst 500. Who can win, who will win, we dissect the season and tell you what we think.  Then we look at the Bathurst 12-Hour and tease a bumper Le Mans 24-Hour Race with talk of Hypercars and GT3 and we search for who will take us to the famous race. There's a bit of World Rally Championship and then all the latest news on Daytona and Shane van Gisbergen's Xfinity Series debut, and don't forget to check out the Chicago Street Race tour by Gilligan's Route 66 Tours - https://www.gilligansroute66.com/nascar-chicago-street-race-2024/. And the latest edition of the magazine is out digitally tonight and in the stores tomorrow... check out the numbers behind the Auto Action Driver Ratings in Supercars, some of it will surprise you. But it is science!
This week sees the triumphant return of the Auto Action Rev Limiter, but this week it is just Andrew and PG as Bruce battles the lurgy. Our dynamic duo tackle all sorts of topics from Brodie Kostecki to Christian Horner, black F1 cars and DanRic. And, of course, the Bathurst 12-Hour race, the Swedish Rally and the real start of the NASCAR season and the next adventure for Shane van Gisbergen.
