Description

There are no "superheroes." We don't even use that word: we call them Anomalies. And to us normal people, not blessed with the gifts of flight, or strength, or hyper-powered mech-suits, these Anomalies, regardless of their intentions, are a threat. They must be dealt with--they must be equalized. We are the Bureau for the Equalization of Anomalistic Metahumans, BEAM for short. We will solve the Anomaly problem, by whatever means necessary. The BEAM Chronicles is a sci-fi/super-hero fiction podcast hosted, written, and performed by storyteller MJ Dooney. The final chapter of Book 1, but nothing too intense! Just the triumvirate being young in the aftermath of their big victory and all the emotional revelations that came from it. Drinking beer, watching the sunset, reminiscing, feeling their feelings...the way they're supposed to.I also outline what's next for the podcast, now that Book 1 is officially done! You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. I would one day love to do this with proper voice acting, but currently lack the resources (and/or connections) to do that with fidelity.
After roughly a year of working as an Equalizer, Jaxon finally gets to hear the story of the Kovorski bust. It's not a feel good story by any means, but...I guess it does explain a lot.You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. With Cidney and Charlie handling Tyler Foone, Jaxon is left alone in a warehouse with Enzo Skelton, aka The Fly. A man he attempted to release from this whole mess months ago, and a man who almost killed him and his friends twice now. He's a little upset. Upset enough to do something...drastic.You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. For the first time in the history of the organization, an Anomaly has escaped from the Dungeons. And of course it's Tyler Foone--probably the worst possible guy to get out. Especially with Fly aiding in his efforts. How will AvA stand up to the combined mights of their two most powerful foes? Will they manage to save the world? And perhaps more importantly...what will they be willing to sacrifice to do so?You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. With everybody all back alive and together again, Cidney and Murphy take a trip into the Dungeons to discuss the future of AvA, and a particular individual who probably shouldn't be allowed to join. Cidney takes this time to contemplate his position at BEAM. He finds a bit of clarity, then all hell breaks loose. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Jaxon Teaque died. It was pretty traumatic. But...I guess not permanent, because he finds himself awake, very much alive, sitting in a room he's never seen. Everyone reacted differently to him dying, so naturally everyone will react differently to him coming back. Certain people are particularly upset with him.You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Jaxon is dead. Murphy and veteran equalizer Lane Rector chat about what that means for the team going forward. A quick preview for the next episode (and a merry Christmas to those who celebrate!)You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. With Charlie diligently devoted to the hunt for Enzo Skelton (aka The Fly), Cidney and Jaxon are left to handle the daily grind of being an Equalizer. Based on today's case, that doesn't seem like it's going to amount to much in terms of interesting action. But then again...sometimes random things have a way of making a profound, irreversible impact. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. The third of a three part sequence of chapters! The crisis is all but averted--just a few more little missiles to handle before all the loose ends are tied up. And speaking of untied loose ends...Jaxon gets a little surprise when Charlie comes back and lets him know who exactly is responsible for this entire mess. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. The second of a three part sequence of chapters!Cidney is a man of action, which is typically a good thing, but does lead to quite a few broken windows and reckless leaps. Luckily he's strong enough to compensate for his destructive carelessness, and given the chaos of the day, he's just what they need to defend HQ from attack. He and his friends certainly have a way of making a tall task seem easy! You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. The first of a three part sequence of chapters!Things around BEAM have been going pretty smoothly lately. With Jaxon a now competent and useful member of the team and Cidney added to the fold, Charlie has a lot more time to just sort of enjoy her new friends.  Until someone finally decides enough is enough, and takes out their grievances on BEAM HQ with quite a bit of gusto and flair for the dramatic. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Cidney's been an official equalizer of BEAM for a month now. He's learned a lot, mostly people's names and how to play basketball (sort of), but there are still some specific things about this place that aren't quite home. And...a nagging bit of tragedy he'd rather not think about, but can't really help himself when things get quiet. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. The whole team comes together to discuss Cidney's abilities, as well as his fate. It's kind of awkward, because he's kind of awkward, but also, if Howie's not convinced...he might just get equalized.(Sorry this episode is a day late!! Thanksgiving celebrations really disrupted my normal creative cadence.)You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. After all the tragic history he discovered a few days ago, Jaxon is feeling a hefty bit of guilt. Something tells him visiting Tyler Foone, the child-murdering prick he vouched for which catalyzed the big blow out with his bestie, will help ease his guilty mind. He's in for a few surprises in the Dungeons today! You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. The greatest triumph in AvA's short history in hand, the whole team comes together to figure out what to do with Tyler Foone. Everybody is on the same page...except Jaxon. As usual. Can he convince the rest of them to save a life that doesn't really deserve saving. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Finally, a big fight! With Jaxon back in the fold, Charlie is eager to test her partner's improved abilities with something a little more substantial than he's faced in the past. Luckily Prophit forecasted something to give them a bit of a challenge...but it might turn out to be a bit more substantial than she was hoping for.You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Jaxon's punishment in Evaluations is just about finished! But before he can rejoin AvA and start busting Anomalies again, he had some pretty big revelations last week, and he needs to discuss them with Charlie. Additionally...she wants to give him some romantic advice. You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Jaxon's been on his Evaluations punishment for two weeks now, and already he's realized how terrifying this department is. At least for all the bedlam and chaos, he's managed to make a new friend...maybe something more! But even a budding romance can't distract him from the gritty, tumultuous shades of gray and moral ambiguity he just wants to ignore. Ghosts have a way of haunting you for a long time at BEAM. How will Jaxon handle facing off with one directly? You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney. Things got...kind of messy last time, during Jaxon's first bust. And a month later, he's still not quite sure how to reconcile how things went. A meeting with Howard Prophit to finally confront the inconsistencies might seem like a good idea. It's not. But it might seem that way!You can find me on:YouTubeTwitterTik TokOr just find me atwww.beamchronicles.comThe contents of this episode were 100% written by me, MJ Dooney.
