Description
An unlikely super-hero origin story, The Beautiful Liar, is an original scripted series imagined by the band the X Ambassadors. When a blind teenager named Clementine (Rory Anne Dahl) suddenly loses her father, her world is completely upended — powers she didn’t know she had start to manifest and take the form of her secret friend, Shadow (Emily Hampshire, Schitt’s Creek). Moving to a new school, she struggles to hide her abilities from her friends - and band mates - as they fight to make the town a better place. Little does she know, her powers have triggered the attention of The Institute, a sinister organization who will stop at nothing to have her in their grasp.

This heartwarming coming of age story is a companion narrative podcast to the X Ambassadors’ new album of the same name, The Beautiful Liar. Brothers and bandmates Sam and Casey Harris, grew up listening to audio dramas together since Casey has been blind since birth. Besides music, it was the only form of entertainment that the two could enjoy together. With a deeply personal motivation, Sam set out to create something in this inclusive and immersive medium.

Elsewhere on a different timeline, two suspicious agents are on the hunt for “Client Four” who has just escaped the mysterious Institute they work for.

no second season? no hero group of kids taking on the big bad company? come on....need more!!!
do we need all the adds and credits on each episode?? love the story line but hate that the last 5 minutes is credits
this is such a good pod
is this podcast any good? anyone have a summary on it besided the short little blurb already given? I've listen to the first three episodes (that I have no recollection of) and downloaded many more to listen to, I'm just tried and depressed and don't know if it's worth listening to (I mean, if I can't even remember the first three episodes?!)
This season feels like it ended an episode early. Heroes assemble. "We have to stop the BBEG!" Roll credits. Lazy storywriting at its worst.
I actually loved this podcast. I had previously listened to Soft Voice which I also love. (Btw, what’s the deal with the voice in head obsession? It works though) recommend this

A great storyline and an astounding production. My only complaint is that the episodes are getting shorter AND more commercials and a mind numbing list of production credits. Is this narration really necessary for every episode? I think it would be more effective to present those names in the written description where people could search and pay tribute in the comments.
Binged the first 5 eps and so far this has been really good. Storyline is engaging, voice actors are great and there's a mysterious potentially evil company hovering in the background. Unfortunately now that I'm up to date I'm going to have a week's wait between episodes which is frustrating but at this point I'm invested enough in the story to persevere. 🤞
Um I was really looking foarward to hearing this. Why hasn’t it come out yet? Like it’s fine if it won’t be out for awhile but at least make an episode explaining the new release date and why it’s not out yet. Like you have people who are excited so an update would be nice.
