Brentford played host to Forest Green Rovers for the very first time in the Second Round of the League Cup. Brentford went down 1-0 to a strong West Ham side at New Griffin Park but Thomas Frank's boys once again gave a very good account of themselves with Shandon Baptiste (second half) and Halil Dervişoğlu (first half) the two stand-outs for the home side. Said Benrahma, came back to his old stomping ground and delivered the decisive goal, a lovely curling shot into the top corner from a half cleared ball, but over all, there was little between the two sides and Bees fans came away quietly confident that their side will mix it with most in the Premier League campaign ahead based on this week's showings.
