Looking at father Abraham live in Genesis 17 - 22 we see that God blessed Ishmael although it was not His plan and the plans of impatience of Sarai and Abram. God came and give them new names, new beginning at the age of 89 and 99 years old. But with that he also affirms His promise and make a new covenant with Abraham whereby circumcision was the sign. Yes Ishmael was also circumcised at age 13 and Abraham ask God to spare Ismael. God did not only spare him but made him a great nation. God is just and fair, he let it rain over the just and the unjust.
The first time we see a well outside of the Garden of Eden. The Omnipresence of God is shown here where Hagar whom fled from her mistress into the wilderness / desert. We look at the places in the Bible about " The Angel of the LORD" Reading from Genesis 16 ESV

Gen 5 : 21 - 24 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. 22After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. 23So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUs8f-lphec https://www.khouse.org/articles/2000/284/ Hebrew English Adam Man Seth Appointed Enosh Mortal Kenan Sorrow; Mahalalel The Blessed God Jared Shall come down Enoch Teaching Methuselah His death shall bring Lamech The Despairing Noah Rest, or comfort.

S2 Episode 2 Gen 1: 1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. The Hebrew word used here for no form and void is, Tohu Wabohu. These two words next to each other were only used twice in the Bible. And on both occasions it was used in the same context as before creation. Jer 4:23 I looked on the earth, and behold, it was without form and void, and to the heavens, and they had no light. Here Jeremiah is warning Judah what it is going to be like in the land of Judah (Southern Kingdom) if they do not repent and turn back to God. This description is pointing directly as empty and void before creation. It gives us also a good indication on creation as well, God created heaven and earth and darkness was there over the face of the deep.

Episode 23 Hosea 1 to 3 is what we are looking at in this episode. The obedience of prophet Hosea towards Yahweh to marry a prostitute Gomer. It is beautiful message in this as it is almost exactly how God feel about Israel. They are worshipping and serving other gods, they seek no relationship with God. Listen with us as we read through Hosea 1-3
Today is just a good review and summary of the previous 21 episodes. We look into the split of the two kingdoms and also the exile that is coming for each of them. The prophets are coming to confront the kings to repent and serve only God but most and almost all of them in the northern kingdom (Israel) and in the southern kingdom (Judah) ignore and fail to move away from their wicked ways. It has huge judgments on both of them and will see what they are in the coming episodes.
Episode 21 Today we look at 1 Kings 16 and where Samaria came from and became the capital of Israel (The Nothern Kingdom). What is the value of the two talents of silver today?
Episode 20 King Jeroboam offer sacrifices at Bethel and a young man of God came to give him a prophecy about a later King that will break down this altar. He wants to arrest this man and by pointing to the man's hand dried up. The altar was torn down and the ashes poured out as a sign that the man of God had given the word of God. The fall of Jeroboam and also the Nothern kingdom (Israel) was prophesied by prophet Ahijah, the very same prophet that brought King Jeroboam the prophecy of the kingdom God was going to give to him. The prophecy of King Josiah became true after a few generations and became one of the more true king before or after him as it is said in 2 Kins 23 : 25 1 Kings 13 1 Kings 14 2 Kings 23
Episode 19 You shall tear down their altars and break their pillars and cut down their Asherim you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God) Exodus 34: 13-14 We look in 1 Kings 12 from verse 21 and look into the two golden calves at Bethel and Dan. So many things to take in and we end with Hebrews 9: 11- 27 Jesus did not need to be purified with the ashes of the Red Heifer as the High Priest had to do, he also entered the Holy of Holies in heaven sitting at the right hand of God
We read about King Rehoboam in 2 Chr 10 at Shechem where after king Solomons death he went there to become king over Israel. But we heard last week already what the Lord said threw His prophet Abuja because of what king Salomon did building places of worship in high places for serving false gods. Today we hear about the outcry of the nation Israel for mercy to lighten the yoke king Rehoboam did not hear their outcry and this is where God's take control in splitting Israel as prophesied. We know Jesus came and said to us the King of kings, he came and we can put on His yoke for it is light and will bring us rest. Read Mathew 11 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 ESV We reflect on this and also look at Mathew 7 about the narrow Gate. King Solomon with all wisdom could not keep the commandments and statutes of God as his father David did. Even with building the temple of God in Jerusalem King Solomon fail to deliver and because of his 700 wives and 300 concubines he built for them and their god's places of worship. God raises adversaries that will become king over Israel.
Judges 9 we read about Abimelech, that ruled over Israel for 3 years. He killed all his brothers except Jotham who was able to escape from the hands of the worthless and reckless fellows. The people of leaders of Shechem whose hearts inclined with Abimelech and decided to follow him and give him 70 pieces of silver. God is omnipresent and did we can see what was the outcome as Jotham cursed them from Mount Gerizim
Polygamy is having more than one wife. The Bible and God designed marriage to be only between a man and a woman as described in Gen 2:24. Why then do we get this concubine and more than one wife in the Bible? Did God allow polygamy? We must remember that something in the bible is described and some is prescribed. Just because we see examples of persons in the bible with more than one wife or with concubines does not mean it is biblical and in God's will. let us look into a few examples as we read in Judges 8: 31 about Abimelech's mother who was a concubine of Gideon.
The next stop at Schechem in God's Word Is in Judges 8:31. But we have to go to the terebinth tree at Ophrah in Judges 6:11. The angel of the LORD (Jesus) came and sit under the tree with Gideon. "The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor" he greeted Gideon
We focus on the six refuge cities that The LORD made Moses implement three cities on the west side of the Jordon River. Moses gave Joshua the order to do the same on the east side of the Jordon when he was appointed as his own follower. 6 Cities were Westside, - Bezer, Ramoth, and Golan Eastside, - Kadesh, Shechem and Kireath-arba(Hebron)
