Hi there! We are Bike Scouts, we work as Volunteer Bicycle Messengers in the aftermath of natural disasters to provide an alternative means of communication and supply for people and places that are isolated. Starting with Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 and the latest storm Typhoon Kammuri that made landfall in the Philippines. The Bike Scouts is also a social platform for people that want to make a difference in the world, and in the past six years the Bike Scouts community has been involved in projects that benefit the common good, from organizing a bicycle library for kids who can't afford books to delivering gifts to homeless children on Christmas Eve. In this episode, we talk about the core ideas behind the Bike Scouts, how we started, why we're here, and what we hope to achieve in the future. If you'd like to know more about the Bike Scouts, please visit our website: www.bikescouts.org or join our Facebook Group: facebook.com/groups/bikescoutsphilippines
We just want to say hello to the Bike Scouts community and the rest of the world with this short test episode. We'll be having a lot of interesting conversations about bicycles, bicycle mobility, adventure, social good, and world-changing ideas. We hope you can join us!
