I'm trying to figure out how humans having bred our dogs to be the way they are fits into this. Not sure that the specific viewpoint in this ep is broad enough, can't fit everything into an hour though. Putting the info together from this one and the Kim Brophey episodes and I think we're heading towards more of a biopsychosocial viewpoint. There's issues with it's application in actual management because it is a concept rather than a treatment plan and humans excel at not having a wide lens view. Anyways, very interesting!
I'm so excited to hear professionals talking about LGDs. The number of posts I see with people complaining about their LGDs barking and 'acting aggressively' towards guests (especially in the house) is just maddening. Basic breed characteristics really do matter.
I loved this episode so much!! Everything talked about was so informative and useful. A must-listen for anyone with a hyper vigilant dog.
