This episode is a milestone! We have a guest filmmaker talking to us about his movie (Rado interviewed Nathan Grossman, director of ‘I Am Greta’, in Venice). Not to mention some more familiar voices appearing... through an app.We recount what have we’ve been watching, and the list is impressive. Rado shares his highlights of the BFI London Film Festival and promotes few films playing in cinemas near you - if you only can and want to go and watch a decent movie. Conor opts-in for a home entertainment with some scary stuff, preparing himself for Halloween. We finally review 'The Boys', TV series that Conor has been banging on for last two months, and 'The Trial of the Chicago 7', latest Aaron Sorkin's drama.Episode 23:00:00 What’s wrong with going to bed with Eva Green or Cillian Murphy?News04:50 Further update on cinemas closing11:52 Ridley Scott and Joaquin Phoenix will team up for a movie… ‘Kitbag’13:50 Pixar’s ‘Soul’ will be released on Disney+ What have we’ve been watching:15:13 Rado: BFI London Film Festival Highlights:‘Lovers Rock’, dir. When news broke that the new James Bond movie will be delayed we were in pieces. That’s why we spend most of the news section talking about the dire situation that cinemas in the UK - and everywhere else - are in. But we also discuss other things, like surprising casting additions to upcoming 'Spider-Man 3' movie. And we learn what gave Conor chills in the childhood. Our movie reviews and What have we've been watching sections cover new releases like ‘Enola Holmes’, film festivals and some classic hits, like ‘Batman Forever’ and ‘The Karate Kid’. This show is almost as well balanced as Ralph Macchio doing 'the crane' in his final fight. We go through the rollercoaster of emotions. From the joys of our favourite show winning many Emmy awards, through sadness when we learned that more movies are being delayed, to deep depression/nostalgia when discussing British serial killer. But all is well in Deep South, where the devil doesn’t wear Prada, but smokes a lot, drinks a lot and seems to have a cruel sense of humor. Please be aware that there is some controversy in this episode. Rado admits he’s an addict, Conor is dissing ‘Breaking Bad’ and makes statement about ‘Shitts Creek’ based on ‘Modern Family’. However, Conor changes his mind about David Tennant, so he is forgiven his sins. 00:00 Conor talking about some futuristic gaming devicesNews12:00 Our Emmy awards reactions33:05 Disney delays a lot of films38:40 ‘WandaVison’ trailer40:35 Disney+ tv series about Nick Fury in development42:00 ‘The Lion King’ sequel will be directed by Barry JenkinsWhat have we’ve been watching43:30 Rado: ‘Akwafina Is Nora From Queens’ (BBC), ‘Extinction: The Facts’ (BBC), ‘Behind The Scenes of The Dark Knight Trilogy’ (YouTube), ‘Cobra Kai’ (Netflix)51:00 Conor: ’The Gentleman’ Reviews54:40 ‘Des’ (miniseries, ITV)1:03:38 ‘Challenger: The Final Flight (miniseries, Netflix)1:10:25 ’The Devil All The Time’ (Netflix) You can find us online on Twitter: @BlockBusterspod, @rdfolta and @designconor.You can find us on Letterboxd: TheBlockBusters, radox and CNRBYL Our theme music is by Scott Holmes and you can find more of his work at scottholmesmusic.com. Thank you for listening. We’re going into spoilers from the minute one, so if you haven’t seen the film yet, you’re listening on your own responsibility. If our discussion doesn’t make much sense, that must mean we are inverted and we’re talking backwards. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, please check out our previous episode where we talk about ‘Tenet’ in a spoiler-free fashion. As always, you can find us online on Twitter: @BlockBusterspod, @rdfolta and @designconor.Follow us on Letterboxd: TheBlockBusters , radox and CNRBYL Our theme music is by Scott Holmes and you can find more of his work at scottholmesmusic.com. Thank you for listening. Ahead of the release of Christopher Nolan’s next film ‘Tenet’ (August 26th!), we've decided to talk about his movies only is this feature-length episode. The key is simple: we discuss original productions from ‘Memento’ onwards: we’re skipping ‘Insomnia’ and Batman trilogy (for now at least). And we’re trying to fit our impressions / reviews within 15 minute timeframes.Warning! It turns out that even when there is not much to talk about, we still have a lot of things to talk about. Like discussing safety measures in cinemas when they reopen. We made it passed episode 10! Can you believe it? To celebrate it we actually had a meaningful discussion about care for local businesses in the times of COVID-19 and beyond. After that it’s the usual nonsense. We talk about late Joel Schumacher and mention our favourite films he directed (we don’t list his sexual partners, even he lost the count). Conor has some breaking news about Batman, ‘Tenet’ is delayed again and we discuss safety measures that await audiences in the cinemas when they reopen.Conor didn’t have time to watch anything this week as he keeps playing through 'The Last of Us Part II'. Rado, on the other hand, doesn’t play any games and he watched a ton of films, new and old, and few TV shows. He also warns against watching ‘365 Days’ that keeps trending on Netflix, despite it’s a Polish movie. This is our special episode, where we decided to choose a film for one another to watch. A film that would reflect our personalities and the type of entertainment we enjoy. Rado asked Conor to watch Pawel Pawlikowski’s Oscar nominated ‘Cold War’. Conor asked Rado to watch middle part of Peter Jackson’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy - ‘The Two Towers’. Our reactions are more than surprising, so please check them out! Both films are available on Amazon Prime with your subscription (if you have one).Apart from that, we have some news cinema releases, Conor raves about some minor game on Playstation and the ghost (most likely of one of the British monarchs) knocks the poster off his wall.Enjoy!00:00 Conor’s first impressions of ‘The Last Of Us Part II’News13:35 ‘Tenet’ and ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ postponed! In todays episode we dive head on ‘Into the Night’ in a Netflix European TV series, one of us challenges Deve Burr aka Little Dicky aka ‘Dave’ for a helm of the best rapper in the world, and we discover yet again that love is little bit complicated in a Netflix teenage comedy ’The Half of It’ directed by Alice Wu. The force is with us when we review documentary ‘The Skywalker Legacy’, that turns out to be much better film than the movie it depicts (yes, we mean ’The Rise of Skywalker’). And finally, we explore “joys” of living in rural Pennsylvania in exquisite movie ‘Never Rarely Sometimes Always’ directed by Eliza Hittman. It’s a pretty fun episode, that gets dark towards the end (literally). 00:00 Freestyle Intro01:18 Proper Into04:10 ‘Into The Night’ (TV show, Netflix)11:10 ‘Dave’ (TV show, FX / BBC 2)29:30 ‘The Half of It’ (Netflix)36:00 ‘The Skywalker Legacy’ (documentary, Disney+)44:56 ‘Never Rarely Sometimes Always’ (all major digital platforms) You can find us online on Twitter: @BlockBusterspod, @rdfolta and @designconor.We both have Letterboxd profiles, where you can track what have we've been watching:Rado: radoxConor: CNRBYLOur theme music is by Scott Holmes and you can find more of his work at scottholmesmusic.com.Thank you for listening!
