In this episode, I talk about that "dreaded" number on the scale. Yes! That one. I share my journey with coming to realize what that number really is and all the things I was thinking it meant.
I'm teaching a Stress Management class and I've been teaching my students how we perpetuate stress and create MORE suffering for ourselves. And I want to share that with all of you and give you some a tool that can help you immediately. Enjoy!
Today I felt impressed to share how I've spent years making the fact that I eat and use outside sources to make myself feel better and I made that mean that I'm a bad person. I discovered that when I admit to wanting chocolate the extra suffering and negative self talk goes away because I'm not lying to myself! I'm admitting I want it and that's it! Wanting and eating certain foods don't make us good or bad! What makes us believe we are bad is believing the things we tell ourselves. We get to decide who we are, not some food that gets put into our mouths! And if you are doing this, this episode will help you stop! Enjoy!
I have so much on my mind and in my heart, right now, and 1 of those things is New Year's resolutions. I think setting New Year's resolutions set most of us up for failure. I think we set them, expecting to fail! And this is why I don't set them. In this podcast, I talk about what I do when I set goals and how this is so much more helpful then trying to change so many things at once with New Year's resolutions! In this episode, I share the 1 tool that has changed everything for me. It is the Self Coaching Model, created by Brooke Castillo. Using this model, I have been able to change the way I see myself, my body and my weight and I had to share it with all of you!
Welcome to The Body Image Podcast where I will teach you how to love yourself without obsessing over your weight and heal from the trauma of weight loss. This week's episode is about Connection. Connection to ourselves and others. I talk about the 1 thing that gets in the way of connection, which is shame and how to overcome shame with vulnerability. I pull information from Brene Brown's TED Talk, The Power of Vulnerability. Enjoy!
