Episode 401 of Boss Hog of Liberty is out! This week Jeremiah Morrell, Bones Harcourt, and Zach Burcham talk with ARCA driver Presley Sorah. Presley is from nearby Cambridge City and will be racing later his month at Indianapolis Raceway Park on Brickyard Weekend.
We learn how he put his deal together. Stories of his last two years in moving from iRacing into real racing. Last year his race in Indy ended in a mechanical failure. Bones expects a win. Presley has done everything from social media to spotting to tire changing to driving. His day job is a teacher at the local elementary school, when the weekend hits he gets in the car and heads to the races.

A $30,000 fireworks show is happening at Memorial Park, Jeremiah caught himself a Facebook ban. Lots of state news this week; Governor Braun made some big changes on the IEDC board including some major donors to his campaign. He also froze tuition at all Indiana universities for the next two years. Four years at IU Bloomington is 48, Purdue 40k. The Indiana DNR is eliminating State Park maps, saving $110,000 a year. Response has been mixed. The NBA season is over, it's a disappointment for the Pacers fan.

That expansion has not been easy or without bumps. Our conversation explores the past, present, and future of New Castle’s hometown donut brand.

This is Indy 500 race week. Bones made his first visit to the track to see actual IndyCars in competition. Nick Vance came from New York for his first qualifying weekend. He comes race weekend, but got to spend the week here. Mike will be in photographer mode again. Forrest, Jeremiah, Zach, and Blake are just fans this year. Nick Vance is involved with the Elite IndyCar Facebook group which has over 13,000 members and is sponsoring two cars in the race this year. Huge controversy around team Penske and two of their cars are starting in the back. We have a shocking pole sitter in Robert Schwartzman at PREMA. Jeremiah Morrell and Zach Burcham are the host voices. Rusty and Ken Eckstein are our guests. They owned Mt Comfort RV in Hancock County, and recently sold the dealership to Camping World. Ken is active in the industry and recently worked to craft a bill with the Indiana General Assembly that will change how dealerships and manufacturers interact. Rusty shares the economic impact of the new federal tariffs on imported items that go into RVs, and how that affects the Indiana economy. More than 80% of RV’s are made in Indiana. Additionally, 10% of those campers are then exported to Canada, which is now enacting their own retaliatory tariffs on imported American products. Mt Comfort RV was also involved with the Indy 500, and we get some stories of their time “loaning campers” to drivers, and the special opportunities that created.
