The Breakdown with James Lankford

James Lankford was elected US Senator for Oklahoma on November 4, 2014. Prior to his time in the Senate, James served in the US House of Representatives from January 2011 until December 2014. Before his election to Congress, James directed the Falls Creek Youth Camp, in Davis, Oklahoma, from 1996 to 2009. He also coordinated mission trips and community service projects in Belize, Malawi, England, Wales, and Germany, as well as many areas across Oklahoma. While serving in the US Senate, James continues to work diligently studying each issue facing Congress and its impact on families in Oklahoma. His Committee assignments include the Committee on Appropriations, the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, the Select Committee on Intelligence, and the Committee on Indian Affairs. James has emerged as a leader in fighting government regulations that are suffocating business today. From EPA regulations on the energy industry to the negative impact of over-regulation on banks and financial institutions, Senator Lankford is fighting for prosperity in Oklahoma and our nation. James has been married to his wife Cindy for over 20 years. Together, they have two daughters: Hannah and Jordan. He enjoys spending time with his family, sport shooting, and reading.

He then fought in Iraq and Afghanistan as a US Marine during three combat deployments between 2007 and 2010. Following active duty, he founded and led an Asia-focused risk consultancy and ran Asia research at an investment fund in New York.
