Wisconsin’s 24–10 loss at Michigan may have added another “L” to the record, but it also gave us our first real look at Hunter Simmons running this Badger offense — and there’s plenty to unpack. Simmons showed flashes of composure, accuracy, and leadership, even behind an offensive line that continues to struggle in protection. We’ll break down what he did well, where the timing and reads still need work, and whether he’s earned another start heading into the Iowa game next week at Camp Randall. Then we’re getting into the decisions that had Badger fans fuming — from the conservative second-half play-calling to the late-game clock management that left timeouts on the board. Was Luke Fickell playing not to lose? Or did he simply not trust this offense yet? We’ll dissect what it says about the current coaching mindset and whether adjustments are finally coming. And yes — there’s still reason for optimism. The Wisconsin defense battled all afternoon, holding Michigan to just ten points in the first half and keeping the Badgers within reach until late in the fourth. We’ll highlight the players who stood out, what Jim Leonhard (or Mike Tressel, depending on context) has cooking schematically, and why this performance could be a real turning point heading into the Big Ten West grind. It’s not all doom and gloom — this one felt different. We’re talking Simmons’ poise, the coaching heat, and the defensive fight that might finally give this team a new identity.🎙️ Hosted by Rajeev & Justin on The Bucky Report — your home for honest, unfiltered Badger football talk all season long.👇 Drop your thoughts below — was this loss more about execution or coaching?👍 Like, subscribe & hit the bell to stay locked in every week.Follow on X: @TheBuckyReport | @BuckyReportJJ | @RajeevBadgers#WisconsinFootball #Badgers #HunterSimmons #LukeFickell #OnWisconsin #B1GFootballHelp The Bucky Report get some feedback! The Wisconsin Badgers went into Tuscaloosa hoping to prove themselves against Alabama, but instead walked away with a humbling 38-14 defeat. Luke Fickell is now 0-7 against ranked opponents, and the questions are only getting louder. Can this staff get the program back on track, or is the frustration just beginning?Danny O’Neil struggled under pressure with two interceptions, while the offensive line failed to create any real running lanes. On defense, the front seven had flashes but couldn’t generate consistent pressure, and the secondary was shredded for explosive plays. Special teams provided the lone spark with Vinny Anthony’s kickoff return touchdown — one of the few bright spots on a tough night. In this episode of The Bucky Report, we hand out positional grades, dissect what went wrong on both sides of the ball, and take a hard look at where Luke Fickell and this program truly stand. Is there any reason for optimism heading into Big Ten play, or is this season already hanging in the balance?Badger Nation deserves answers, and we’re breaking it all down right here.Follow the show on Twitter: https://x.com/TheBuckyReportFollow Rajeev on Twitter: https://x.com/RajeevBadgersFollow Justin on Twitter: https://x.com/BuckyReportJJHelp The Bucky Report get some feedback! Wisconsin Badgers fans experienced a true tale of two halves at Camp Randall as the Badgers powered past Middle Tennessee 42-10. Week 2 of Wisconsin Badgers fall camp delivered plenty of headlines as position battles heat up and new faces step into the spotlight. Running back Darrion Dupree continues to impress with consistent production, while Louisville transfer Mason Reiger is showing immediate pass-rush impact. Freshman wide receiver Eugene Hilton is making a strong push for early playing time, and the tight end room is finding stability with Missouri State transfer Lance Mason. On defense, several young defensive backs are starting to flash in practice, adding depth and competition to the secondary. The offensive line took a hit with starting center Jake Renfro sidelined week-to-week, opening the door for Kerry Kodanko and Ryan Cory to step in. Special teams remain in focus with an ongoing kicking competition that could go down to the wire before Week 1. With just a few practices left before game prep begins, every rep is carrying more weight than ever.Follow the show on Twitter: https://x.com/TheBuckyReportFollow Rajeev on Twitter: https://x.com/RajeevBadgersFollow Justin on Twitter: https://x.com/BuckyReportJJHelp The Bucky Report get some feedback!
