Jon Ronson, the creator of Audible Original The Butterfly Effect, delves into the pornography industry again as he unravels the never-before-told story of what caused a beloved 23-year-old actress’s untimely death. In December 2017, famed adult film star August Ames died by suicide in a park in the Conejo Valley. Her death came just a day after she’d been the victim of a social media pile-on by fellow porn professionals—punishment for her tweeting out something deemed homophobic. A month later, August’s husband and pornography producer Kevin Moore connected with journalist Jon Ronson to tell the story of how cyberbullying via Twitter killed his wife. Neither of them could predict the rumors and secrets that Ronson would soon hear, revelations that hinted at a very different story—something mysterious and unexpected and terrible.

How can I sign up to fly swat while fully clothed and get paid
not to bash anyone but Lisa Ann doesn't sound like a great person...blah blah blah they do drugs so nothing they say can be true.... yeah sure 🙄
Damn…totally changed my opinion of Lisa Ann after this one. She wants him to investigate the other deaths, then says everyone will lie to avoid their guilt. Speed talking and ranting will never sway an investigator from his story. This podcast is about August, not what you think it should be about. If 75% are on the verge of suicide, and yet you “have worked with more people than anyone”…maybe your it’s your guilt you can’t face.
Fascinating, Funny, Thoughtful, Sad and Heartfelt not for Everyone but a Fantastic Listen 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Yeah But no one can make someone kill themselves. It's very sad but she needed to delete Twitter and talk to someone about how she was feeling. Still very sad.
I can't believe how unprofessional so many of the people in the industry can be and hope that it can be seen for what it is and than adjusted accordingly
So basically Jaxton Wheeler is essentially ok with bullying as long as it’s for his cause, and as long as it doesn’t effect his family (son). Fuck that hypocrite piece of shit.
maaaan, this Fabian sound like an asshole. So litle concern, so litle empathy.
anyone else find Lisa Ann dodgy as f#ck. every sentence she uttered was minutes long EXCEPT when asked about the conversation between herself and Kevin about the hotel on the night August died. ? . .
Damn Lisa Ann is annoying AF and transparently manipulative. Sounds like she probably contributes to the problems in the industry.
Whoa, calm down, Lisa Ann! Jesus, take a chill pill. Annoyance level: 10/10. The patience it must've took to interview this woman...
So very well put together. Loved every minute.
The irony of this guy Jaxton complaining about himself and his family being bullied is off the charts. This should be a lesson in karma, it is straight up cause and effect. You get what you give. I hope August is at peace 💗
gripped from the start, just as good as the butterfly effect!
Was it just me or was the audio for this show not great?
Jon Ronson is way over qualified to be making podcasts. This should be on Radio 4.
absolutely beautiful work. I've been waiting since Butterfly Effect ended and finally this is on CastBox :D
All available episodes boshed in one day...that says it all. There's something in Kevin's delivery that stinks, despite some claims are proven to be true, there's something odd.
