Some assertions made here are not up-to-date with the science. For example. They think you cannot see tumor shrinkage remotely from targeted therapies on tumors other areas. This is well documented now. It is rare, but sometimes a targeted treatment can cause the immune system and to kick in reduce tumor size all over the body. It is possible that it is rare because of treatment is usually too aggressive or too frequent…. which kills off parts of the immune system. It is early days, but people are seeing response with lower dose SBRT given 5 days or more apart… giving the immune system a chance to kick in. Combining with lower dose checkpoint inhibitors is also sometime helpful.
