Happy Valentine's Day from Kelly and Lizz! In this random, yet fabulous, episode baby Fred-uccine Al-fred-o makes a cooing appearance, Mattie has headed out for two months with the marine reserves, and Kelly needs to know why her dog is now the size of a cow.
The millennial word of the day is ‘vibe check.’ Instead of asking your friends, “Hey, how are you holding up?” You can now just use a quick, “Hey, vibe check?” to see how they’re doing.
Kelly’s driveway dump kicks off with a plug for her favorite Knix period underwear and an update on her haircare journey haul from Sephora. The Car Mom has hit 95K subscribers on YouTube and the gals can’t wait to hit 100K and earn their plaque. Make sure you subscribe to The Car Mom on YouTube! Kelly and Lizz also reflect on red dye, Fun Dip, and their favorite Valentines indulgences.
Lizz adds her thoughts to the driveway dump today with a bit about her thought-provoking-reels addiction, eating out vs. eating in, and the $16 Panera crime.
Famous TV couples are featured on today’s Valentine’s edition of the great eight. In the lineup are: Ross and Rachel from Friends, Jim and Pam from The Office, Marshall and Lily from How I Met Your Mother, Jess and Nick from New Girl, Cece and Schmidt from New Girl, Ben and Leslie from Parks and Rec, and Blair and Chuck from Gossip Girl.

Producer Fredward joins Kelly and Lizz for another maternity-leave episode of the Carpool podcast. The gals are playing with nicknames for the babe and Lizz has exciting gender reveal news to share!
Situationship is today’s millennial word of the day. Which is what the Gen Zers are calling their connections when they're sort of talking, sort of dating, sort of a thing, but also…sort of not. Kelly’s boomer idiom for Lizz is “don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.”
Kelly’s driveway dump is packed with goodies from her week alone at home with Fred. First up, Mulan, a movie truly ahead of its time. Next, Liquid IV is cornering the mocktail market on Instagram with their impressive add-ins like egg whites and sugared grapefruit. Give them a follow! Kelly and Lizz both love on the idea of moms having other moms’ backs in the parking lot whether they’re loading up or just can’t return a cart when they’ve got kids in tow. Kelly brings a little celeb news with the unremarkable Marie Kondo report, a surprisingly cluttered Julia Fox apartment tour, and Kylie Jenner’s baby name. To wrap up the segment, a rant about how bubble makeup headbands are making Kelly irrationally upset and Kelly starts her hair care journey with advice from Kathleen Post and Mary Orton.
In industry news a new SUV has been released, the Mazda CX 90 with a plug-in hybrid option and third row seats that supposedly accommodate up to 8 people. Kelly says the former CX 9 was good value for a lot of tech, but not the best space for the money. Will the CX 90 surprise and delight or be about the same?
On today’s ditch the drive-through Kelly shares her favorite foods that friends and family have brought her so that she could live off of something other than her pregnancy and postpartum favorite, Culvers. Topping the list are mom’s egg casserole, a big plate of cookies, asian inspired chicken and blanched veggies, homemade pizza, and a Trader Joe’s freezer haul.
Lizz plugs an Oreo-gate update that gluten-free double stuffed Oreos are the real winners.
Maternity leave streaming recommendations round out this episode with Kelly and Lizz’s current favorite shows that everyone should binge including: Only Murderers in The Building, Abbott Elementary, That 90s Show, The Parent Test, and Ginny and Georgia.

Cue the confetti, it’s time to welcome Baby Fred to the Carpool podcast! Kelly’s answering questions from the Carpool Instagram and shares her regrets and recommendations from her third baby’s birth and postpartum period. You’re in for a wonderful birth story that left Kelly shocked in the best way.
The hardest part of three, is Fred really giving farm, and nurse baskets top the listener questions list. You’ll also hear what Kelly is finding the most and least helpful postpartum.
Today’s driveway dump — delivery edition — includes Fred’s jaundice story, online shopping during early labor, and Kelly’s biggest regret that had her absolutely appalled in the delivery room. To wrap up the show, Kelly shares her birth and newborn must-haves including: a heating pad at the hospital, BYOS (bring your own Stanley), Bodily bras, Copper Pearl swaddle blankets, Lansinoh gel pads, and a hand pump.

Baby Stumpy’s still in the belly, so Kelly and Lizz are bringing you an episode that is nothing if not chaotic.
In today’s millennial word segment we learn Gen Z slangs so we can be less lame. Today’s word is ‘jump scare.’ Kelly also adds an idiom of the day because Lizz knows absolutely none of them. Today’s idiom is ‘still water runs deep’ which launches the duo into a trip down memory lane reminiscing about Kelly’s car salesman days.
Kelly’s binging Architectural digest celebrity house tours on YouTube, comparing celebrities vs. influencers, and rants about how we need to stop saying ‘wait until’ and ‘at least’ to mothers for her driveway dump.
The hate eight of household chores decides which is the worst of the worst. Going head to head for the most hated crown are: changing bedsheets and duvet cover; doing laundry; paying bills; washing dishes; cleaning the toilet, shower and bathtub; taking out the trash and breaking down boxes; pet care and cleaning up dog hair; and cleaning floors.
Automotive Gossiper, aka car buying expert, Zack Sheska from Car Edge, joins Kelly and Lizz for a zesty industry news today. Is Tesla quaking in their boots? Zack gives the gals the scoop on tax incentives and why the company might be dropping their prices. Cash is king according to Zack in the car buying arena right now and he predicts we’ll see incentives make a comeback. Zack also gives his take on Carvana and sight unseen car purchases.
Matza ball soup is for dinner tonight at Zacks and he shares his super simple recipe so you can ditch the drive-through, too.

Lizz is owning her seat as the Carpool co-host, and Kelly’s the pot calling the kettle black as she tries to get into listening to a new podcast where the hosts just talk about themselves.
Today’s millennial word, zesty, comes from a 15-year-old who filled Lizz in over the weekend. In short, this is the perfect filler word when you have no idea what to say.
Kelly is bringing part one of a two-part driveway dump today that starts with a birthday shoutout to Blake from Blake’s besties on January 19th. Happy Birthday, Blake! Kelly claims that Tarzan, the OG of soundtracks, walked so Frozen could run, she’s back in her ugly and only three-pair-of-pants-fit era, and shares the life-changing magic of her new 911 hamper. Lizz chimes in with a report about her glue-on-nails experience, and the calls are making a call for press-on nail recommendations from listener experts.

Kelly and Lizz debate the great eight of Disney and Nickelodeon sitcoms: Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, Zoey 101, The Amanda Show, Drake and Josh, The Suite Life of Zac and Cody, Hannah Montana, That’s So Raven, and The Wizards of Waverly Place. Kelly is available in her DMs to defend today’s winner.
Today’s industry news is sponsored by Edmunds.com. Edmonds thinks Kelly and Lizz are just working too hard. That’s why they brought them a round up of the best current industry news to share on this episode so that you, too, can sound like a total baddie who knows what’s up in the current car market.
Leases are the highest since November of 2007, so buying is hot. Interest rates are still high, and trade-in prices are starting to fall. Find out what your trade-in is worth on Edmunds with their easy to use trade-in value and appraisal tool. Inventory’s low but on its way up as overall car prices are coming down. If you’re shopping, keep an eye out for CPOs (certified pre-owned cars) — Lizz and Kelly explain why.
Lizz shares her chicken pesto pasta so you can ditch the drive-through this week on pasta Monday. Kelly reads Amy’s Philly cheesesteak sandwich recipe that she’ll definitely be trying with some leftover hot dog buns.

To wrap up the episode, Kelly drops what might be her last baby name clue. Baby’s name has nine letters. Just a reminder — d r and e are in baby’s name!

Kelly’s still holding the baby in and Lizz is preparing for the wedding retreat of the year. The millennial word of the day kicks off today's episode on the topic of where we’re at with emojis. Sydney and Grayson’s most recently used emojis get the full Millennial analysis and Gen Z confirms that laughing faces are back.

In Kelly’s driveway dump segment, she asks wtf a tubing mascara is (someone please Google it), the Chatbooks monthly subscription has lured Kelly in, and the Route shipping and tracking app is her new obsession.
Lizz’s maternity shirts, silver drop wedding earrings, and new planner — that both girls are now obsessed with — are her last three transactions. Kelly’s defending her barefoot dreams robe purchase and is in awe about how Tyler proved his farm-strength when their water heater went out and he had to buy and install a new one at 9pm.
A hilarious industry news features a report from the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas that includes BMW’s talking car, DEE (the Digital Emotional Experience) that Lizz hates as well as Ram’s first electric pickup and its third row jump seats. CarMax, Carvana and Vroom are staying out of the Super Bowl — not surprising — and the numbers are in on what you would have lost if you’d invested in last year’s super bowl advertisers. Kelly also gives a cool shout out to some Hyundai and Kia anti-theft efforts coming from her family's car dealerships.
Ditch the drive-through today comes from Lizz and Trader Joe’s. In just a few minutes she has a full spaghetti and meatball dinner ready thanks to her air fryer and Trader Joe’s delicious bite-sized party meatballs.

Kelly has touched grass and has something to say about Oreo-gate from Tuesday’s episode before diving into a dream-guest filled episode with Kate from Naptime Kitchen.
The millennial word of the day today is ‘social battery.’ Just another way that Gen Z and millennials say ‘I need some alone time.’
Today’s episode is brought to you by carmomofficial.com. Where you can find all of the vehicle tips, tricks, and tours to make your family’s car shopping experience ah-ma-zing. Thanks to the Car Mom for always doing the most.
In a sort-of driveway dump Kelly gives a nod to Jim from the office for his leaving-the-party-early hacks. Lizz places her bet on the 16th for Kelly’s baby’s arrival, Kelly guesses the 18th, and both marvel at the miracle of growing a tiny human. Lizz reports she felt her first little bubble kicks this week!
Kelly’s idol, Kate from Naptime Kitchen, who is also the most relatable mommy blogger is today’s guest. You can find the NTK goods the gals talked about with Kate here: The Home Reset (how to make your home work for you) and here: The Able Bag.
The great eight of Kate reveals what the most groundbreaking, shareable Naptime Kitchen hack or mindset is. Vying for the title are: the heating pad in bed, Christmas clothing bin for kids, pasta Monday, you don’t have to only bring homemade stuff to people when you’re bringing a meal to, shoebox lids for drawer storage, toy purgatory, cutting your beach sandwiches, and your most nutritious meal doesn’t have to be dinner. The segment proves that Kate is the real-world mom missing in the influencer world.
In industry news, we find out how Kate’s minivan is working for her family of six. She shares what she drove before, why she decided to say yes to the Honda Odyssey, and why her family might outgrow the minivan down the road.
Today’s ditch the drive-through from Kate is a ‘hardest night of the week’ hack. Kate takes a look at her calendar and chooses the most low-energy, tight on time night of the week and makes it crock pot night, pasta night, or choose your own sandwich night. Lizz is here for good parenting while doing the least.
Kelly names her top Naptime Kitchen recipes to wrap up the episode:
BBQ Chicken Quinoa Casserole
Creamy Chicken Enchiladas
Warming Chicken Curry

The millennial word of the day is touch grass. As in, the people sending Kelly unhinged DMs about her kids’ bedroom and LV bag really need to go touch some grass.
Kelly and Lizz are both putting their word of the year to use and will be normalizing blocking people and saving a buck.
Headlining today’s driveway dump is Disney World hype. What’s with the iconic food at this theme park? Is it as good as it looks or is it just glorified amusement park food? Kelly shares three things she’s NEVER bought for a pregnancy including, obviously, a totally unsafe pregnancy seatbelt contraption.
Lizz tests out here Oreo conspiracy theory on today’s taste test with regular Oreos, double stuff Oreos, mega stuff Oreos, Oreo thins, caramel coconut flavor of Oreo, and the golden double stuffed Oreos — and a very scientific study from 2013.

The Tik Tok listener report confirms that The Car Mom will not be taking up space on the app in 2023, and a listener gives the gals a fantastic question to ask themselves, “Would Tik Tok make you happier?”
Kelly’s driveway dump features two polar opposite stories. One is about protecting your peace, traumatic Go Fund Me’s, and trigger warnings; the other is about normalizing fall decor vs. Halloween decor and normalizing winter decor vs. Christmas decor.
Disney channel original movies, aka Dcoms, are today’s great eight. If The Lizzie McGuire movie hadn’t been in theaters only, it would have beaten every single movie on the list, including Cadet Kelly, Zenon, Johnny Tsunami, High School Musical, Twitches, Cheetah Girls, Quints, and Luck of the Irish.
In industry news, the manufacturer had the most recalls for the second year in a row, with 65 recalls in 2022; four major EV trends to watch for 2023, including luxury trade-ins and the breakdown of brand loyalty; and a delightful full-on 2023 SUV comparison.

Kelly’s driveway dump brings us the ever heated issue of pantyhose, the no man’s land of doing nothing and how to give your nothing 100% and a big debate: Is it okay to take your shoes off at weddings? Lizz shares her rules and Kelly says you can be fun with your shoes on.
In industry news, car dealership guy on Twitter says he’s found something shocking about car loans and repossessions — Kelly’s not buying it. And Instagram reels is the facey-est place on the internet.

Halloween feels like it was yesterday, but Lizz is already decking the halls, Kelly is prepping a 3-foot tree for George and Hattie's room, and Tyler the Grinch is no help. Today, the gals take a moment to get ready for Thanksgiving, though.
Today's great eight brings you all the Thanksgiving vibes: a cocktail, cheese board, and kitchen gossip; meal prep and the parade; a post-Turkey-Trot donut; pumpkin pie and decaf; Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping; Friday leftovers, letting your Christmas flag fly guilt-free; and an after-meal nap with football in the background.
Today's millennial word of the day brings you 'rizz' 2.0 from a Gen Z family friend who has Kelly and Lizz's back. Listen in to see if you know someone who has 'w-rizz' or 'l-rizz.'
Habit stacking your morning and nighttime routine is the star of Kelly's driveway dump. No excuses. Get to it. Kelly shares her thoughts on the TSA sock-check — aka you should always be prepared to take your shoes off — and where she's found her new favorite boot socks. The satisfaction of using up and pulling 'empties' and clearing Christmas clutter round out the segment.
You don't want to be talking politics with your uncles and aunts this Thanksgiving, so why not talk auto and shake hands after? Today's industry news hits hard, so you can make more than small talk over dinner.

The first female crash dummy has arrived, and Astrid Linder shares all about it in her TED Talk. The 2022 LA Auto show is happening, and the gals agree it's time for the 2023 Toyota Prius to be the moment. Also debuting at the show will be the 2024 Subaru Impreza, 2024 Kia Seltos, Vinfast's new EVs, and the Genesis GV 70 electric. By 2035 electric truck stops will need as much power as a small town, and gas stations will need as much as a professional sports stadium. Can we handle it?
If you're wondering what you'll do with your Thanksgiving leftovers this year, you won't want to miss today's ditch the drive-through. A listener writes in with their Thanksgiving shepherd's pie, Kelly and Lizz share their favorite sauce for turkey sandwiches, Durkee Famous Sauce, and Kelly shares a generational tradition — turkey tetrazzini.
