After a few months off, I'm feeling the pull again to record podcasts. Which just means that God has something for me to learn. This week was inspired by the phrase "Good Will To Men"-something I feel we are lacking too much lately. In this episode I'm diving into what good will is, how we can get it, and what is in our way. The world needs more love and tolerance, not less. The talk I reference is by Elder Russell M Nelson called "Teach Us Tolerance and Love".
I know it can seem like we are lost. Especially with our temples closed due to Covid. Obedience isn't just about putting in all the ingredients haphazardly. We are commanded to do things exactly. Why? What difference does it make? Allow me to share what I've been learning and how I have been missing the benefit of doing things with exactness. Join me for the All In Women's Faith Conference in October! Get your ticket today at www.allinwithgod.com Here is the link to the talk I spoke about in the episode!
It can be so difficult to make the right choice. But I'm not talking about choices like stealing or not stealing. I'm talking about times when you have no idea WHAT the "right" decision is. Today I'm talking about why we struggle so much in making the right choice and how we can start to make it a little easier for ourselves. When we are waiting for God to show up in our lives, or waiting for blessings He has promised us, there are a few ways we can wait. We learn this in the scriptures from their examples. We can wait with expectancy like the Jews, with a timeline like Sarah and Abraham, or with action like Nephi. It's totally up to us and how we show up. Follow me on IG @thecauseofchristians for more thoughts! *I found the story I was looking for! It's in Genesis 17 and it's of Abraham and Sarah :)
I want to be used by God. Do you know what I mean? I want Him to use me in order to bring others to Him. But how do I do that? How does one be an instrument? Join me on this episode as I talk about my view on what it means to be an instrument, how we can become one if we desire, and the experiences I've been having that have led me to where I am today. Follow me on IG @thecauseofchristians for more thoughts!
Sometimes we are humble all on our own. But sometimes we are compelled to be humble. But I spent a lot of my life thinking that was a terrible thing. And I don't think that anymore. Allow me to share my thoughts with you on what compelled humility truly is and how I have seen it in my own life so much. I'll be speaking at the All In Women's Faith Conference in NC in October 2020! Get your tickets to come see me live at www.allinwithgod.com! Follow me on IG for more thoughts: @thecauseofchristians
I've been trying too hard to hold onto what I want lately-mostly in regard to timing. I want things to happen sooner, faster, right now. And I'm learning a lot about what is more important than that and what God's timing looks like. God is the one in control. Sometimes I have a hard time letting Him do His job. Come see me speak live! I will be speaking at the All In Women's Faith Conference in Raleigh, NC on October 17, 2020! I can't wait to see y'all there! See full details here!

Nothing in our lives have to change in order for us to see it completely different. It all depends on what we focus on. It's like adjusting a camera lense. What is inside the picture stays the same, but it looks completely different depending on what you choose to see. Here is the link to the talk that I reference by President Nielson! Please leave a rating and review on iTunes so that other people can find the podcast! And thank you for sharing it with your friends! I used to keep a loaf of bread in the car so that I could eat on the way home from church on fast Sundays. Needless to say, my fasts were not all that focused or centered on Christ. But I've learned a few things since then that I hope you'll find helpful. Thank you for leaving a rating and review on iTunes! If you haven't done so yet, I would love the support! Listening is actually made up of 2 parts. And If you don't do both parts, you aren't truly listening. And then it is hard to hear God when He's trying to talk to you. Join me as I share my thoughts on how to truly listen and hear God in your life. SHOW NOTES: Learning to listen highlights: 1. Learning to listen starts with hearing with your heart instead of just with your mind 2. Learning to listen requires removing distractions 3. Learning to listen means putting yourself back in the conversation. 4. Learning to listen means knowing what you're listening for Most of my thoughts today were inspired by the Come Unto Christ website and the #hearHim challenge!
With all the fear raging rampant right now, it is so hard to see that there is still SO much we can control. Fear comes from lack, from a scarcity mentality. And it is the opposite of faith. Join me as I dive into the difference between the 2 and give 4 tips on how to switch from a scarcity mentality to a more abundant mindset. SHOW NOTES: Individual life coaching information can be found on my website jolenewinn.com Be sure to get your ticket for the All In Women's Faith Conference on May 23 in Raleigh, NC! Have you ever noticed that the prayer for baptism in our church is completely different than any other prayer we say? The one baptizing says "having been commissioned of Jesus Christ". So what does that even mean? I broke it all down for you so you can get a better idea of what that means and I hope that changes how you think about the next baptism you attend! Let me know! Don't forget to leave a rating or review to help other people find the podcast! THANK YOU for listening and sharing this with your friends and family!
Here is the continuation of last week's episode! In this episode I go over 4 steps on how to increase your hope when you feel like you need more and how there is no such thing as false hope. SHOW NOTES: Here is the link to the talk "Hope" by Arthur Bassett.
Spoiler alert: there is NO such thing as false hope. It doesn't exist. Hope is not something that can be false. You can have complete, 100% hope in Christ and it will lead to joy and happiness and excitement and love. Listen in as I talk about how hope helps us in our lives, what it means, and why we often deny ourselves the opportunity to feel hope. Stay tuned for next week's episode where I will continue on this topic and talk about how to increase our hope! SHOW NOTES: HERE is the link to the talk I read! It is by Arthur Bassett and it is titled "Hope". GREAT quotes from that talk: "Our inner feelings are tremendously important because we all live so much in our own inner world." "In other words, without hope, charity (love) is bound"
