πŸ€ Celtic's pre-season plans kicked off in earnest at Lennoxtown last week but - for now at least - no new faces have joined the group. Brendan Rodgers will be looking to change that in the days and weeks ahead of the title defence and a new assault on the Champions League with fans (us!) already becoming anxious at the lack of activity so far. Elsewhere we speak to James on the burning question of his Season Ticket Renewal - a topic which caused much debate throughout the second half of last season's campaign! πŸŽ™οΈ Join Tino, James & Mif as they discuss the above and more in this latest Pre -Season Special. ================================== 🟒 If you enjoy what we do and want to support The Celtic Exchange then you can do so at https://thecelticexchange.supercast.com/ All Celtic Exchange episodes are available on YouTube πŸ“Ί or wherever you get your podcasts 🎧 πŸ“° The Celtic Exchange Weekly (Every Monday) βŒ› The Countdown To Kick-Off (Every Game) ⚽ The Final Whistle Show (Every Game) βž• Special Bonus Episodes ================================== πŸ”— All additional content at https://thecelticexchange.com πŸ€ More Podcasts | More Reaction | More Celtic Learn more about your ad choices. Archie Macpherson is a bonafide Scottish Football icon having began his career as a broadcaster with the BBC over 60 years ago. His time in the game has brought him into close contact with many legendary figures - including some of the greatest Celts of all time - and in part 1 of our exclusive 3 part series he talks candidly about the Celtic Rangers rivalry and how its evolved since his earliest memory of the fixture, way back in 1949. His highly acclaimed book on the subject, "More Than A Game" centres on the 'Hampden Riots' of 1980, following a Scottish Cup Final clash between the two sides, but also features the gritty details of some of the most significant meetings of the two - on and off the park - over the decades. πŸŽ™οΈ Join Tino for this special 3-part series with broadcaster, writer and Scottish Football icon Archie Macpherson. ================================== 🟒 If you enjoy what we do and want to support The Celtic Exchange then you can do so at https://thecelticexchange.supercast.com/ All Celtic Exchange episodes are available on YouTube πŸ“Ί or wherever you get your podcasts 🎧 πŸ“° The Celtic Exchange Weekly (Every Monday) βŒ› The Countdown To Kick-Off (Every Game) ⚽ The Final Whistle Show (Every Game) βž• Special Bonus Episodes ================================== πŸ”— All additional content at https://thecelticexchange.com πŸ€ More Podcasts | More Reaction | More Celtic Learn more about your ad choices. πŸ€ For Celtic's quartet of Callum McGregor, Tony Ralston, Greg Taylor & James Forrest the Euro dream is over and they'll now make their way home following Scotland's exit from the tournament. For the non-international players pre-season begins in earnest this week whilst others will get an extended break, but when can we expect to see new signings join them at Lennoxtown? It's all quiet on that front for now but undoubtedly it should be a busy summer of coimings and goings as Brendan Rodgers fine tunes his squad for the new campaign. πŸŽ™οΈ Join Tino, James & Joe as they discuss the latest Celtic news in the first of our Pre -Season Specials. ================================== 🟒 If you enjoy what we do and want to support The Celtic Exchange then you can do so at https://thecelticexchange.supercast.com/ All Celtic Exchange episodes are available on YouTube πŸ“Ί or wherever you get your podcasts 🎧 πŸ“° The Celtic Exchange Weekly (Every Monday) βŒ› The Countdown To Kick-Off (Every Game) ⚽ The Final Whistle Show (Every Game) βž• Special Bonus Episodes ================================== πŸ”— All additional content at https://thecelticexchange.com πŸ€ More Podcasts | More Reaction | More Celtic Learn more about your ad choices. πŸ€ Celtic drew a line under the 2023/24 campaign just over a week ago but as we know Celtic never stops and there's always plenty to cover - even in the close season. Several of the Bhoys are heading to the Euros with Scotland, but frustratingly Matt O'Riley won't be joining them on the big stage and we look at the ramifications of that from a Celtic point of view. Elsewhere we assess the impact (or not!) of the seven first team signings made last summer and what future some of those players may yet go on to have at Celtic Park. Finally we discuss two key figures who played a notable part in Celtic's history some 30 years+ ago - one off the park, and one on it - with both featuring in recent special episodes of the show. πŸŽ™οΈ Join Tino, Mif & Joe for all that and more in this latest episode of The Celtic Exchange Weekly. ================================== 🟒 If you enjoy what we do and want to support The Celtic Exchange then you can do so at https://thecelticexchange.supercast.com/ All Celtic Exchange episodes are available on YouTube πŸ“Ί or wherever you get your podcasts 🎧 πŸ“° The Celtic Exchange Weekly (Every Monday) βŒ› The Countdown To Kick-Off (Every Game) ⚽ The Final Whistle Show (Every Game) βž• Special Bonus Episodes ================================== πŸ”— All additional content at https://thecelticexchange.com πŸ€ More Podcasts | More Reaction | More Celtic Learn more about your ad choices. πŸ€ A select few people in Celtic’s history have won league titles as both a player AND as part of the management team. But fewer still can claim to have done so in such dramatic fashion as Murdo MacLeod. When Ten Men Won The League on a spring night in 1979. When against all the odds the Miracle At Love Street occurred in 1986. AND THEN when we 'Stopped The Ten' in 1998 in yet another final day decider, there’s just one man who played a pivotal part in all three of those most memorable title wins in our history. Murdo MacLeod's Celtic Story is genuine Roy Of The Rovers, stuff with the powerful midfielder making a habit of late day drama in some of Celtic's most memorable trophy wins. He's also encountered drama of a different nature off the park however, having undergone lifesaving surgery not once, but twice since his playing days. Ahead of the forthcoming release of his biography "Murdo, Murdo" penned by long term friend and journalist Hugh Keevins, Murdo shares with us the tales of an incredible life in football, on and off the park. πŸ“™ Pre-Order your copy of Murdo, Murdo now at https://www.amazon.co.uk/Murdo-My-Autobiography-MacLeod/dp/1785307134 =================================================== 🀝 If you enjoy The Celtic Exchange and want to support independent Celtic Fan Media from as little as Β£1.50 per moth then visit https://thecelticexchange.supercast.com/ πŸ€ All Celtic Exchange episodes are now available on YouTube πŸ“Ί or wherever you get your podcasts 🎧 πŸ“° The Celtic Exchange Weekly (Every Monday) βŒ› The Countdown To Kick-Off (Every Game) ⚽ The Final Whistle Show (Every Game) βž• Special Bonus Episodes πŸ”— All additional content at https://thecelticexchange.com πŸ€ More Podcasts | More Reaction | More Celtic Learn more about your ad choices. Adam Idah’s Hampden winner at the weekend means Celtic have now lifted the Scottish Cup Trophy 42 times in our fabled history – and Matt Corr’s been there for almost half of those! The Celtic Author & Historian has experiences of being amongst crowds of over 100,000 at the National Stadium in the 70s, right up until our most recent triumph and joins us here on The Celtic Exchange to tell us of his Top 5 (ish!) Scottish Cup memories. Matt’s no stranger to a trip to Hampden but right now he’s on the eve of a very different type of trip in the name of Celtic, but it’s one that’s equally special in its own way. Along with a dozen other volunteers Matt and his brother Robert will be travelling to Malawi with Celtic FC Foundation to support the incredible work carried out there by Classrooms For Malawi (CFM) organisation. It’s one which has been a few years in the making and Matt in his capacity as author, historian and all round knowledge in Celtic is offering something a little different in his efforts to raise funds for this most worthwhile of causes. 🟒 In β€œThe Battle To Save Celtic” series we’ve spoken extensively with supporters groups, financial analysts, former board members, Celtic fanzines and journalists, as we continue to cover the story from all angles. But what we’ve yet to cover in any great detail up until now is how the new Celtic was shaping up AFTER Fergus McCann came into power in March 1994 Ahead of the 1997/98 season it became clear that McCann wanted to introduce a new European style structure to the Football Department, and with that came the newly created role of General Manager We were therefore delighted to be joined by that very man as Jock Brown told us of 510 fascinating days in Paradise as part of the Fergus McCann regime. It's a story than includes McCannm Jansen, Di Canio, Larsson, Moravcik and an Italian superstar who got away! πŸ’ͺ The Battle To Save Celtic is a new mini-series by The Celtic Exchange marking 30 years since Fergus McCann's Takeover of Celtic in March 1994 =================================================== 🀝 If you enjoy The Celtic Exchange and want to support independent Celtic Fan Media from as little as Β£1.50 per moth then visit https://thecelticexchange.supercast.com/ πŸ€ All Celtic Exchange episodes are now available on YouTube πŸ“Ί or wherever you get your podcasts 🎧 πŸ“° The Celtic Exchange Weekly (Every Monday) βŒ› The Countdown To Kick-Off (Every Game) ⚽ The Final Whistle Show (Every Game) βž• Special Bonus Episodes πŸ”— All additional content at https://thecelticexchange.com πŸ€ More Podcasts | More Reaction | More Celtic Learn more about your ad choices. 🟒 As we’ve covered in The Battle To Save Celtic series so far, the early 90s were a treacherous time for Celtic on and off the park, as the club found itself lurching from one crisis to the next. Fans were up in arms at what was going on, but in those pre-internet times had few places to express their viewpoints. Not The View Fanzine was created in 1987 and quickly became a fans favourite due to its humorous take on all things Celtic, whilst also providing a voice for regular Celtic supporters. As we continue to cover the story of that time from all angles we were delighted to be joined by Gerry Dunbar and Joe Miller who tell us more about the origins of NTV as well as the part it played in The Battle To Save Celtic. πŸ’ͺ The Battle To Save Celtic is a new mini-series by The Celtic Exchange marking 30 years since Fergus McCann's Takeover of Celtic in March 1994 =================================================== All Celtic Exchange episodes are now available on YouTube πŸ“Ί or wherever you get your podcasts 🎧 πŸ“° The Celtic Exchange Weekly βŒ› The Countdown To Kick-Off (Every Game) ⚽ The Final Whistle Show (Every Game) βž• Additional Bonus Episodes πŸ”— All additional content at https://thecelticexchange.com πŸ€ More Podcasts | More Reaction | More Celtic Learn more about your ad choices. πŸ€ A Matt O'Riley inspired Celtic displayed their dominance in the Glasgow Derby once again at the weekend to storm into a six point lead in the title race with just two games now remaining. A single point in this week's remaining fixtures will be enough to seal the deal for a third consecutive season, though Brendan Rodgers has urged his players to "sprint over the line" and to ensure they finish the campaign in style. It's been a good weekend all round for O'Riley as he also swept the boards at the club's Player Of The Year Awards as 12,000 fans packed out The Hydro for an event littered with Celtic stars.
