One of the fundamental questions in football is this: who gets to play? And, Morgan Smith, rising senior kicker at DII Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, has contributed her thread to this question.
While Title 9 enshrines equality between male and female athletes on the field in federal and state law, application of that law often lags behind, and the mindset of courageously living the values that Title 9 represents can lag even farther.
There is a gap between law and its application.
And, it is inside this gap blurry place that we find today’s guest, Morgan Smith telling us her story through her eyes - the highs and the lows in the hopes of inspiring other athletes of any gender that they are more capable and worthy of their dreams than they know.
Enjoy.

If there is one thing you need to know about Zac Triner it's this: you will never meet a more genuine, driven and humble person than him. Zac and I first connected on a chance Instagram DM when he was looking for someone to snap with after a short stint with the Houston Texans a few years ago. And, since then Zac has not only become a good friend but somewhat of a mentor not only to myself but numerous other aspiring young athletes looking to achieve a higher level of play. What is it about Zac's story that we find so compelling? Simple - he is the exception to the rule. He didn't go to a big time college, he didn't get drafted but, he had a hunch that he could snap at a high level. And, like Zac, everyone has a hunch deep down of what they think they might be capable of if they just took the chance to dive all in and see what happens. The only difference, however, is that Zac dove in head first. I would hope that Zac's story might inspire you to reconsider what you think is possible in your life. His story reminds us that instead of worrying about "what if this doesn't work out?" to ask ourselves, "yeah...but what if it DOES?" Enjoy.

Will Rodriguez is a force on fourth down. Prior to arriving at UCLA where he develops kickers, punters and snappers, he spent time under the tutelage of former legendary LA Rams Special Teams Coach Jim Fassel (now with the Cowboys) where he learned philosophy, scheme, strategy and how to develop a world class special teams platoon. When he's not busy recruiting or coaching, Will gives back to the coaching community by running various special teams talks around the country. You won't want to miss this. Enjoy.
Morgan Cox is excellent at what he does - chucking a ball with pinpoint accuracy between his legs with perfect laces to two of the NFL's most prolific punters and kickers, Sam Koch and Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens. And, while those guys are the best at what they do it ALL starts with the snap. Enjoy.
