Ephesians 2:1-10 is a great way to share the Gospel if you have time to sit down and walk through it. Ephesians 2:1-3 talk about who we are, our sinfulness, and what we will face (children of wrath) if we continue on a sinful path, in rebellion to God. These verses show us our need for a savior, a need for Jesus. Thankfully, the story doesn't end there. the next verse starts with "But God," meaning that while we are all of those things, God is the opposite. Verses 4-9 go on the speak of who God is, what He has done for us, how we are saved, and the reality that we can't earn salvation. Verse 10 then ends with tells us that we are made for good works. Meaning we aren't saved to continue living our lives in sinfulness, but we are saved for a purpose, to gloify God and tell others about Him.
Sharing the Gospel is scary and hard, but it is a command that we have been given. God has a heart for all people, for the nations, and that is shown throughout Scripture, both Old Testament and New Testament. While it is difficult to do, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to do this, so trust in Him to work in and through you.

Sharing the Gospel can be a hard thing to do, especially if you have never done it before. Many people are worried about not having every answer, not speaking eloquently, or simply being rejected without having the opportunity to even start. All of these are fears are valid, but these worries should not stop us from being obedient to our calling. We have been given a spirit of power, not fear. We are ambassadors, and we should carry ourselves as such.
Even though we know these things to be true, the question now becomes “how.” “How do I start a Gospel Conversation?” Well, sometimes it is as simple as answering a common question back to your relationship with Christ. If a coworker was to ask why you never took shortcuts at work and you said, “because God has given work as a gift, and I want to honor Him in the gift He has given me,” then an everyday conversation could have just turned in to a Gospel conversation, and all you had to do was give an intentional answer.
Many Gospel conversations aren’t even opened by you, but if you have an open heart and open ears, others my give you the opportunity to share the Gospel. This all starts with our heart, do we have a heart for people to know Christ? If not, we need to change that. If we do, then we ought to be praying that God would provide opportunities to share the Gospel. Then, mindset, what are we focused on in conversation, do we look to make much of us or much of Christ, or are we just engaged in conversation to get through it? Lastly, willingness, are we willing to put ourselves out there when the opportunity is presented?

One of the most common accusations against the Bible is that it had been changed over time, making it unreliable. How do we know if what we have today is what the original Bible actually said? How can we be confident that we are reading the accurate Word of God? What if the story of Jesus has just been hyperbolized over the hundreds and thousands of years? Well, there is an answer to each of these questions. Scholars engage in textual criticism, which allows these questions and more to be answered. To do this, scholars and textual critics review thousands and tens of thousands of ancient manuscripts, compare these manuscripts to one another, validate the validity of the manuscripts, and come to a conclusion on whether or not the text is accurate.
One important distinction to note is the difference in a manuscript and a copy. A manuscript is handwritten. If you were to copy, paste, and print the Bible that would not be considered a manuscript, and therefore would not be eligible for review in textual criticism. Each of these manuscripts was written by hand, and there are tons of them.
Some Bible critics, such as Dr. Bart Ehrman, intentionally mislead people when talking about the accuracy and validity of the Bible. These critics will use phrases like “there are over 400,000 variations of the Bible,” which is a true statement, but not in the way that we understand it. The same is true for the word “corrupt” in textual criticism; this word has a slightly different meaning, but that difference completely changes the way we understand this argument.
Spoiler alert, the Bible is shown to be accurate through textual criticism, and has more support than some of the other most famous writings in modern history.

A lot of Americans make New Year's Resolutions. We say that we are going to change our life and that "this year is our year," with as much hope as Dallas Cowboys fans every year, just to find the same result as those fans, disappointment. We disappoint ourselves and set ourselves up for failure when we make these resolutions and life changing commitments without stepping back, checking our heart, mind, and motives, and then making the decision.
If we are going to make a New Year's Resolution it needs to be:
1. Centered on the glorification of Jesus
2. Something the Spirit is promting us to do, not our culture or emotions
3. Not contingent on the day of the year that you start it.
Resolutions can be good, but why wait until New Years to do something that the Spirit is leading to and that will glorify God? If that is what you are feeling, don't wait, go be obedient to the Spirit. However, if you New Year's Resolutions aren't meeting these criteria, maybe reconsider and reexamine what you are doing and why you are doing it.

Reading your Bible can oftentimes seem like a daunting task. There is so much historical context, cultural context, and Scriptural context. The questions of where to start, how to understand what is being said, and how do I apply it to my life? All of these worries and questions are valid, but we can not let those things stop us from getting in the Word and pursing Jesus.
Hopefully this video is helpful in learning how to do just that. These are practical tips to read your Bible and be more consistent in the Word. Learning how to abide in Christ as John 15 calls us to is essential to our spiritual development and our relationship with Christ. A common question people ask is how can they hear from God, and the way to do that is by consistency in His word. If you want to get to know someone you have to spend time with them, that is the same way with Christ. In order to deepen your relationship with God you need to be interacting with Him through prayer and reading His word.

THE MERCH!!

A popular phrase in Christianity is “In the world, not of the world,” but what does this actually look like? Are we supposed to affirm and embrace the culture that surrounds us, even if it is opposed to everything we stand for or are we to shelter and isolate ourselves from the rest of the world so that we are not tempted by it? Well, neither. We should not embrace or affirm the sin that is in our culture or in the world, just as we should not embrace or affirm the sin that is in our own lives, but that does not mean that we isolate ourselves and see ourselves as better than those who have accepted Christ.
It is important to remember the only difference between a believer and unbeliever is that standing before God. Christians are not morally superior or perfect, and we should not pretend that we are. We have done nothing to separate ourselves from the world, but Jesus has done everything. Unbelieving people are one choice away from forgiveness, but how will they make the choice if they are not told about the Good News of Jesus Christ?
We are called to spend time with people who do not know Christ, but there are obviously boundaries that you must set depending on the situation. You should not be in a position where you will be tempted to sin. You must remember that you are always representing Christ. Being a Christian is a fulltime commitment, not a part time hobby.

Consumeristic Christianity has infiltrated Christianity in America. The idea that church is all about what we can get from it instead of how we can serve is contrary to what the church is designed to be. As Christians we are called to both pour out and be poured in to, we are called to serve as others serve us, we are called to encourage believers in the faith as we are encouraged in the faith. The church is meant to be a unified body, working in unison for the glory of Christ. Serving in a church is oftentimes seen as something that we must do or are required to do, if we do it at all, but that is because we have a misconception of church service.
God has given us the gift of serving one another. Even Jesus says that the Son of Man came to serve, not to be served. Jesus has set the example of service; we are given the responsibility to serve and encourage other believers in a church setting. Understanding that church isn’t about what we can get is essential if we are to fully experience the gift that Christ has given us within the body of Christ.
Consumerism is rampant in American culture, and this consumeristic mindset has taken a foothold in Christianity in America. We must realize our responsibility and the reality of what church is, not an event once or twice a week but a commitment the requires out attention and action.

Christmas is the holiday that many people would say is there favorite, but Trey has a very different opinion. He is not a fan of Santa or the icon that Santa has become, which distracts people from the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus. Jesus is the gift that we have received, and that is what Christmas is about, remembering that gift.
Christmas is not just a time of selflessness, a time of helping others, or a time of showing love. Christians do those things year-round because of the gift we have received in Christ coming to the earth, dying for our sins, and defeating sin and death. Christmas is a time to remember the love that God has for us, the love of the Father for His children. In reality, Christmas is not the most important Christian holiday, that should be Easter, but our culture has made an idol out of Christmas and distracted us from the true meaning.
Let this Christmas be the year that you remember Christ is the gift we have received. You can still give and receive gifts, but do it knowing why. The why is not because of an old guy in a red suit is watching and making a list, the why is not because it is simply what we do, the why is because the God that created us, that we rebelled against, loves us enough to come to us, live a perfect life, die the death that we deserve, and rise from the grave so that we can know Him for eternity.
That is the true story of Christmas, and it is worth celebrating and remembering.

One of the most talked about issues is if/how Christians should be involved with politics. That isn’t the only political question though, another question Christians should ask is what politics looks like within the church. The church is not a political organization and should not be treated as such, but that is not the reality in most churches.
What is the proper way for Christians to be involved in politics within the church? Should all members openly speak out against church leadership right away, or should they suffer in silence? The answer is neither. There is a proper, biblically way to handle issues such as this, and it isn’t to leave. Sometimes there can a reason to leave, but if you were the only speaking up and you left, who would speak against the one had the power. Not only at, but if you are called to a church you need to be there until God calls you away, not only because it got hard.
Then, you have the national politics within the body of Christ. The Southern Baptist Convention is where we will spend our time today on this episode. What is Article 9, who made it, who changed it, and how did it get passed? This is a great example of why politics should never take precedence Jesus. You can find more information about this example at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaH4DLR2i0I

Doubt is something that most Christians struggle with at some point in their lives, and some never stop fighting against it. There are a lot of misconceptions about doubt, one of them being that simply having doubt is sinful. That is not what we believe to be true. We believe that doubt, if allowed to, can breed sin in your life, but is not sin in and of itself. When we face doubt, we must make the intentional decision to follow Christ through our doubt. This looks like reading our Bible, even if we have big questions, seeking out answers with open minds and hearts from those who may know more than we do and have more experience than we do, and like not allowing this doubt to pull you away from you community into isolationism. When we isolate ourselves doubt has an easier opportunity to push you toward sinning by abandoning your relationship with Christ. Whenever you are doubting or struggling, we want to encourage you to pray and ask God to give you strength to not rely on your feelings to guide your relationship with Him, but for you to rely on the fact of the Word of God and the truth that is in it. Don’t be ashamed that you struggle with doubt, you are not alone. Open up, talk to people, and let your community of believers encourage and strengthen you.
Don’t feel bad if doubt isn’t something that you struggle with. All believers are predisposed to certain temptations; we don’t all face the same one(s). If you do not face doubt regularly maybe that isn’t the temptations that Satan desires to use you pull you away from God. Whatever your predisposed to you need to intentionally make a decision to pursue Jesus over the temptation and the sin it leads to.

This past week the verdict of the Kyle Rittenhouse Trial found Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old who shot and killed two protesters at a Black Lives Matter protest-turned riot in Kenosha, WI last year. There are many different opinions on what happened in Kenosha, the verdict the jury should have reached, the charges that should have been brought, and if the criminal justice system did its job. Watching the videos of that night and watching the trial are the only two ways for most people to receive information without a narrative being attached to it. Kyle Rittenhouse has been deemed everything from a white supremacist and a villain to a brave man and a hero, spoiler alert, both of those are wrong.
The reality is that Kyle Rittenhouse was a 17-year-old that made an unwise decision, to go to the Kenosha protests (riots), but had the same right to be there as the Antifa members that were burning dumpsters, lighting cars on fire, and destroying a city that many of them didn’t live in. When Kyle Rittenhouse killed a man in self-defense, he was well within his right to do so, and the court found that to be true as well.
Kyle Rittenhouse should not be seen as a hero to look up to or a villain to hate; he should be seen as a teenager who made a bad decision that put him in an impossible situation. He didn’t do the right thing by going, but he also did not break the law by attending or acting in self-defense. The court reached the correct verdict, as they also did in a similar self-defense case on the same day, the case of Andrew “AJ Coffee IV, a black man. This was an example of the justice system getting it right and reaching the correct decision.

Many Christians struggle with the concept of doubt. Is doubt wrong or sinful? If it isn’t sinful, can it become sinful? The reality is that most people have experienced doubt in some way as they have pursued their relationship with Christ and grown in their faith. You have been given a community for a reason; use that community whenever you are experiencing doubt. One of the things that you should not do is fall into isolationism, which is what the enemy wants you to do. If the enemy can isolate you and convince you that nobody could understand what you’re going through or that others will look down on you for having questions, he then has a foothold in your life, which can open you up to going down a path that is not pursuing the Lord.
Doubt should not be given the opportunity to control you, it should push you to seek out answers from people who have more life experience, more knowledge, and a greater understanding of Scripture. Doubt becomes sinful whenever you choose to allow it to hurt your relationship with Christ.
There are a lot of different opinions as to what faith is. Some believe that faith is blind belief, some say that faith is when people mask their doubt and lack of answers by claiming faith, but what does the Bible say about faith? What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 is very clear about what faith is. Faith, according to Hebrews 11:1 is “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

Trey gives a life update and talks about his volleyball tournament. Basically, Trey doesn’t go to class often, spends all of his time at church and working on the podcast, and is content with where the Lord currently has him. He is, however, preparing for a big move to Fort Worth after graduating.
Cole and Trey then discuss the dangers of progressive Christianity. Progressive Christianity distorts the Gospel of Jesus and is something that should be avoided. One of the commonly held beliefs is that Jesus was not any different than anyone else, He simply realized His “true self.” We too, according to progressive Christianity, can attain this status, all we have to do is realize our “true self.” This is a dangerous theology that will
Mislead, deceive, and hurt your relationship with God and your understanding of Him.
Lastly, Cole and Trey discuss their favorite teachers to listen to. For the past 2 ½ weeks we covered different teachers, movements, and theologies, but we also want to provide some resources for finding good teaching. Wes Wilkinson, the Senior Pastor of FBC Pflugerville, Voddie Baucham, a (mostly) online teacher, and Mike Winger, founder of Bible Thinker and YouTuber, are some of the teachers that both Cole and Trey have heard and enjoy learning from.

The prosperity gospel is a popular version of Christianity that cheapens the price Jesus paid on the cross. This “gospel” takes the focus off of what Jesus has done for us and puts the focus on what He can do for us. It is a story that is centered on us, instead of on Jesus. Anytime the focus is put on us and how great we are there should be a major red flag.
American Christianity can also be called cultural christianity. It was when we grow up thinking we are Christians because our family goes to church, we prayed a prayer, went to a Christian school, or another "Jesus" activity. These things are all great things, but none of these activities can save us. The only thing that saves us is our relationship with Jesus. Whenever we understand what He has done that understanding should produce a desire to know Him and to tell others about Him.
Those who teach the prosperity gospel are clearly false teachers who are promoting themselves and seeking material wealth instead of seeking for people to know Christ. One of the biggest examples of this is Joel Osteen, who is known as the biggest of the prosperity teachers.

Online Church is not church. We have been called to live a life in community with other believers so that we can be equipped to share the Gospel and encourage one another. Covid caused us to go to online church, but at this point nearly everyone should be back at church. We are called to not only attend church, but to belong to a church and serve in the church. Serving in the church allows you to pour out but will also bring friendships that you wouldn’t have otherwise. The people that you are closest with not be the people that are most like you or your roommates, if you have them, the closest friends you will ever have are those who you are serving with in the body of Christ. God is glorified when you are a faithful member of a local church, and you are spiritually strengthened and sharpened by those around you when you serve in the body.
False teachers have been gaining a lot of traction in our culture. False teachers can take a lot of different forms, but one thing most to all of these false teachers have in common is that they take the focus off of Jesus and redirect it on to either themselves or their audience. The Bible is not about you. The Bible is about the Lord. The Lord does not promise us health, wealth, and prosperity in this life. God is concerned with His glory and His purpose, He never promises us an easy life, in fact, Jesus promises us the opposite.

Is dating biblical? Cole and Trey discuss and answer a relatively minor question before jumping into some more meaningful discussion. What do you think? Do you agree with Cole and Trey on if dating is biblical, why? Also, what even is dating today?
Trey got engaged and everyone gets to see the video (unless of course you skip it, but you’re missing out). Trey took Julia to Casa Do Brazil for dinner, then blindfolded her and drove her to POV, where they had their first date. Shout out to Makenzie and Sydney from The Little Cole & Cole Show for setting up the engagement area and doing a great job at it! The video picks up at POV and shows the before, during, and after of the engagement. They are getting married on May 27th and then will start their lives together!
Marriage is a covenant between a man and a woman where both of separate but equally important roles. Ephesians 5 is one of the main passages that shows the roles of both the man and wife. Men are called to love their wife as Christ loves the church, meaning choose to love them and be willing to lay their life down for her to and lead their wives, Christ shows us what leadership truly is when He humbled Himself and came to earth not to be served but to serve. Women are called to respect their husbands and submit to them, this is not a lesser role, simple a different role. Many people confuse submitting with being lesser, but Christ submits to the Father and Jesus is equal to God the Father.

Texas A&M beat Alabama in football... is anyone still doubting that God is an Aggie? Is God an Aggie? Also, how did the student section (including us) go from wanted Zach Calzada to be benched to calling his name for the Heisman?
Why is it that half of the college ministry was missing the day after the game? Is winning a football game a good enough reason to miss church the next day? What if that football team was #1? This speaks to a much larger issue that currently plagues College Station as a whole, the idolatry of Texas A&M, Texas A&M football more specifically. The entire town is built around Texas A&M’s schedule and church attendance for all age groups varies based on who wins the night before. Why is it that we can cheer and yell and rejoice on a Saturday night when we score a touchdown, but when someone is baptized, we simply clap for a few seconds and don’t think about it again? Heaven rejoices at every decision to follow Christ and it never gets old, but we have allowed ourselves to be more excited about Aggie football than a soul being redeemed out of sin and saved from the wrath of God through the redemption that is in Jesus, our savior.
Lastly, social media is not only common in today’s culture, but also expected. How should Christians navigate these platforms, what should our focus be, what should we be engaging with and posting, and how do we bring glory to God through our social media? Also, Cole is on TikTok and Trey is disappointed in him.
