Part 2! of our October Premiere Special. This episode isn't about as specific a topic, but more a discussion of news and comic books. However, for context, this week marks the announcement of not only the newest DLC character for Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but Minecraft Live, an event where the next mob in the Microsoft game will be decided!Expect discussions about the events above, as well as bargains, brothers, superheroes, and most importantly, the late 2000's internet and it's associated memes/culture. A part of our history that has been wiped away by modern pop culture, yet lives on in the dark recesses of the internet...Special Guest Star: Slaw's Brother, in the background for a few seconds.
Starting in 2012, Lucasfilm fell under the ownership of Disney, meaning that the rights to the Star Wars film and franchise belonged to Disney, and after a quick cleaning of the slate, they set to work to make a final third trilogy of 'Episodes', to round out the saga. Episode VII, The Force Awakens, debuted in 2015, Episode VIII, The Last Jedi, debuted in 2017, and most recently, Episode IX, The Rise of Skywalker, debuted in 2019. The films starred characters new and old, and were met with mixed critical reception. On today's episode, we discuss our own opinions on these movies, and ways we think they could have been improved upon, as well as a few new topics such as Slaw's cowboy phase, the LEGO games, and whether YouTube is a reliable platform for memes. Also, we're taking back our old name. Apple won't let us on their platform, that's fine. Viva la revolucion then. Special Guest Star: Hank Hill's disembodied voice, and the vengeful spirit of Keanu Reeves.
Micheal Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, college friends who had previously worked on animation (Invader Zim and Family Guy respectively), came together in 2005 to produce Avatar: The Last Airbender, an animated franchise inspired by Eastern cultures that has captivated audiences for years, becoming a quick landmark on Nickelodeon. With just three seasons and 61 episodes, the show tells the story of the latest reincarnation of the Avatar, Aang, who's duty is to bring balance and preserve peace in a world where spirits hide in shadows and humans bend the elements to their will. Many attempts to follow the series have been made, from movies to reboots to comics, but one of the most famous successors has been The Legend of Korra, a following 2012 television series about the next Avatar in the cycle, Korra, and her various trials she faces in order to protect the world Aang built. Longer, more mature, and often debated, Korra has divided fans in the past but still remains a beloved entry in the growing franchise. After a month off the air, Cole and Slaw have returned to discuss one of their favorite shows of all time, their opinions on the characters, villains, and pairings, as well as other topics such as role playing, bargains, and Minecraft. Strap in, because this is a long one. Spoilers are in effect for the entirety of ATLA and TLOK, but you do not need to read supplementary materials (the comics or the Kyoshi books), because we don't discuss any plot for those. Special Guest Star: A guest star intro, to celebrate our return.
Gravity Falls is known by many, though it lasted a mere 40 episodes, for it's combination of memorable characters, dark humor, and entertaining storytelling. Running from 2012 to 2016 on Disney Channel and Disney XD, the series pushed the limits in more ways than one, resulting in both it's fame and early cancellation. Disney's censors couldn't keep the series from garnering a cult following, and as a result, Cole forced his sibling to watch all of it. And come on the podcast. Expect discussions about the show in question (with heavy spoilers and Bill Cipher), Star Wars, the Thirstometer, Tumblr, Dungeons and Dragons, and more. Also, quite a lot of giggling from Ketchup.IDWH KDQJV XV DOO IURP VWULQJVVRPH MXVW FDQW VHH WKHPMRNHU HSLVRGH FRPLQJ VRRQSpecial Guest Star: Ketchup.
The Amazing World of Gumball, stretching from 2011 to 2019, was a rather unique show among Cartoon Network's lineup, incorporating dark humor, pop culture references, and various clashing art styles into a Frankenstein show that ended up a hit. Praised for it's heart and humor, the show remains one of the most memorable cartoons of the 2010's.On today's episode, we try to discuss Amazing World of Gumball, though with a lack of focus, expect discussions as well about One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, the Legend of Zelda, and other topics. Also, as usual, expect spoilers for the main topic in question, though luckily, said spoilers are rather late in the episode this time. Special Guest Star: Our awkwardly shifted Saturday time slot. We don't know why this is a thing either.
Inspired by a 2004 biography, Lin Manuel Miranda created his third musical production around Alexander Hamilton, drawing in a variety of musical influences. Hamilton: An American Musical quickly became a smash hit after it's release in 2015, and quite recently (for us), Disney+ released a live recording of the Broadway performance, allowing many to see the full experience for the first time. On today's episode, to celebrate Canada Day, we discuss both the "movie" and original play/soundtrack of Hamilton, as well as other topics such as Cats, Kingdom Hearts, and government secrets, as well as many more. (Actually, not too many more. We kept surprisingly on topic. Mostly.)Spoilers for Hamilton and American History (obviously) and Kingdom Hearts. Special Guest Star: A Red Bull ad I accidentally left playing in the background. We're sorry, though if Red Bull feels like sponsoring us, we'd be very honored! (*wink wink nudge nudge*)
While it started as a parody of Back to the Future's Doc and Marty, Rick and Morty has established a name for itself and has come into it's own as an adult-oriented sci-fi comedy, and has paved the way for a new generation of mature and graphic animated series. Having recently finished the fourth season, we have brought in two friends to discuss the memetic show and our takes on it's plot and characters. Expect discussions about [adult swim], fighting animals, Pokemon, jeans, a wild Dungeons and Dragons campaign, and other random topics that our conversational journey happens upon. I (Cole) will be absent next week, so we made this episode a dual-length to compensate for the gap in the schedule. I did censor this episode where I felt necessary, but the discussion of violence against animals, while intended to be comedic, can be taken as offensive or disturbing, so I do advise those who may be triggered descriptions of animal violence to perhaps watch another episode instead. I apologize for the inconvenience. Special Guest Stars: Jarper and Aidan. One an avid Rick and Morty fan, the other a patient Dungeon Master/audio glitch/visual novel enthusiast.
DreamWorks Animation has made many movies with varying degrees of success in their time on the market, but undoubtedly two of their most loved franchises are How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda. One is a story of a boy named Hiccup and two races at war, and another of a wannabe kung fu warrior named Po. Both tackle adult themes and self-acceptance with beautiful animation and sound design, as well as great fight and/or flight choreography. In this episode, we discuss these two franchises and how each sequel ranks against the preceding movies, villain powerscaling, the Wushi Finger Hold, and a few questions from fans. Special Guest Star: The prophecy of an episode soon to come, a tale of the Avatar and the wars they fought.
Slice of life. Feel good. Comfort show. Call it what you will, but a genre of television has sprung up that involves happy vibes and a relaxing atmosphere. A type of show that can take your mind off your troubles for a while, providing nothing stressful save for enjoyment. Now, if we could only agree on what qualifies. Expect discussions about the Onceler, Despicable Me, and other Illumination Entertainment properties, as well as Hilda, the Office, Adventure Time, and other feel good shows. In addition, if you can, dear audience, raise awareness and contribute in whatever way you can to the #blacklivesmatter movement. We tend to steer clear of political matters, but the constant stream of innocent lives is a stain on our world, and the time has come for the corrupt justice system to have a reckoning. Donate, protest, spread the word, do whatever you can, if you can. But don't be neutral at a time like this. Special Guest Star: A bad Mario impression, and perhaps Illumination lawyers coming for our heads.
After it's origination as a series of small short films, J.G. Quintel's Regular Show premiered on Cartoon Network in 2010, after a successful submission to the previously mentioned Cartoonstitute project. It ran for 8 successful and memorable seasons, portraying young adult life with a filter of 80's nostalgia and weird fantasy, with a solid heart and a blending of humor. On today's episode, which we totally intended to be double length, we discuss our own experiences, both old and recent, with Regular Show, as well as a discussion of the themes and pros vs. cons, especially in regards to a similar show, the Amazing World of Gumball. We also discuss an often overlooked series, the 2003 Star Wars: Clone Wars (by Genndy Tartakovsky), as well as our own personal outlooks on the Matrix, among other exciting topics. Don't worry, there's plenty of content to go around. Special Guest Stars: The debt we went into making this episode.
Premiering in 2007, Tengan Toppa Gurren Lagann, known as Gurren Lagann in the states, was a mecha anime produced by famous studio Gainax, known for sister show Neon Genesis Evangelion. However, it quickly set itself apart by playing classic tropes straight and embracing a colorful and over the top take on the mecha genre, with a show that remains memorable for the craziness and optimism of both it's universe and characters. On this episode, we discuss Slaw's recent viewing of Gurren Lagann, and the two hosts' opinions on the show, for better or for worse. Be advised - heavy spoilers for all 27 episodes are in effect. We also discuss a bit of Cole's viewing of Regular Show, and a running bet the two have in Cole's unceasing and noble quest for the forbidden fruit that it is the unspoken literature. Finally, we have a listener question! We love getting them, and don't feel afraid to send us some at integratedshitpostingqa@gmail.com. Also, we made it to ten episodes! We don't mention it in the episode, but it means a lot to us that we've made it past such a milestone. Special Guest Star: The Great and Mighty Kamina, in spirit.
One of the highest honors for a cartoon is to receive a feature length film, bringing it from the small screen to the big screen. A bigger budget, a longer runtime, and a whole lot of hype - an ideal proving ground for cartoon creators. And luckily, we have plenty of legendary examples. On today's episode, we discuss Regular Show: The Movie, The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, and Steven Universe: The Movie, as well as the individual shows themselves, and various complaints we have, continuity and otherwise. Expect mentions of revenue, JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, wagers, and more. Special Guest Star: The feeling of emptiness, as we transition from one hour episodes to merely 45 minute episodes.
The 2000's, as a decade, was a strange time for animation, as Disney started to experiment with their storytelling and animation style, Dreamworks emerged on the scene as a potential competitor to the mouse-eared titan, and movies began to come out that redefined what a cartoon could be. These movies sparkle as hidden gems that have sadly since faded into obscurity. On this episode, we discuss some of our favorites from this decade (excluding Kung Fu Panda, which deserves an episode by itself), as well as the definition of isekai anime, streaming services versus movie rental, and what Ned Beatty really looks like underneath the charming purple exterior of Lotso Hugging Bear.Special Guest Star: The Number 8, and a pile of irons slowly roasting in the fire.
The heroes in a half-shell. The New York ninjas that live beneath the sewers. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been a sensation since they burst on the pages of Mirage Comics in 1984. After all, how many New Yorkers eat pizza, fight aliens, carry swords, and have green skin? Well, probably more than four, but that's besides the point. Expect discussions about TMNT cartoons and comics, Star Wars, the purpose of coleslaw, Doctor Who, and zombies. Got a cartoon you want to see on the show? Want us to read your words or answer a question? Want to guest star? Message us at integratedshitpostingqa@gmail.com! Special Guest Star: Dr. Bane, DDS.
7 is a lucky number, and I sure hope that this being the sixth episode, we might get close to lucky with some more views. We love you, dear listeners, we just wish that the audience were bigger, but we aren't picky. This marks our first crossover episode - we cross paths with one of the cohosts of the Quarantine Boys, and discuss their podcast a lot, but we also discuss our podcast and its future. What are our plans? Will we change names? Change hosts? Get rid of Rax, our beloved mascot? Well, you have to watch first to find out. Don't worry, we talk about it in the first ten minutes, so you won't be kept waiting. Expect other discussions about Scooby Doo, Tumblr, yeast, romcoms, and about whether the episode is over or not. Special Guest Star: Dimitri/Sloppy Joe
Starting today, we begin our weekly episode schedule! We are free from the bonds of the biweekly schedule, and to celebrate this fact, I uploaded this episode in the middle of the night. It's legally Thursday, so cheers! That is, if you like our podcast enough to listen at midnight. This episode features guest appearances, which I will address down below, and returning topics like Mukbang, ASMR, and JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, in addition to new additions like Dungeons and Dragons escapades and the forbidden H-word. There are also small chickens present in a mysterious, ethereal, audio form, if you can pick out their chirps among the background noise. It's like our own form of ASMR, in a small, fluffy, wholesome package. Special Guest Stars: Cabbage, Mayonaise, and about ten baby chickens.
Another day in quarantine. Some might sigh, and turn away from their phone/computer/listening device, filled with a heart wrenching despair. Surely, there can be no content to consume that can fill that void in your heart? But don't worry. If your tastes fancy comedy, science, life and memes, we're here for you. We always are. Expect discussions about Minecraft, April Fools, Dinosaurs, Antartica, and YouTube politics. Don't worry, not big politics. We know you hear enough of that as is, and we aren't going to try to sway you to any side. Except, of course, the funny side. That is, we're out to make you laugh and smile. Live, laugh, love, or whatever those floor mats from Walmart say. Special guest star: iDubbz. Well, we at least mention him a bunch. It's like he's here.
While the world stays indoors, enjoy the comfort of real people in a real way with a real podcast about real stuff. Really. We don't flinch at censorship or world ending plagues, but we do face our ultimate enemy in this episode: staying on topic. Will your heroes (or strange acquaintances, depending on where we are in the audience-host relationship) successfully discuss the sweet art of music? Stay tuned to find out?Featuring discussion about Coronavirus, cartoons, keytars, nostalgia, and music. Special guest star: Everyone, because the world is our recording studio.
Ah, the terrible twos. Our 2nd episode, 2 weeks after the first, on the 2nd month of uploading, and with 2 lovable co-hosts. Of course, whether this episode will be terrible is entirely up to you, dear listener. Expect conversations about the Flat Earth Theory, dinosaurs, Adam Sandler, Thanos, television, and more. Special guest star: Viewers like you. And, also us. Because we're always special. Our mothers told us so.
2/27 Update

2/27 Update

2020-02-2800:47

A brief update on why there is no episode today, as well as how to contact us and a teaser for Episode 2. I mean, don't get too excited, but get reasonably hyped enough. It's a minute of content, and a lot of things can happen in one minute. Just ask the main character of 60 Seconds. Did that movie have a main character? Never seen it, so let's hope that joke landed. Email us with any comments or suggestions at integratedshitpostingqa@gmail.com.Starring Cole, and Slaw (in spirit)
