Misty had the chance to catch up with Samantha Ruckles, of Paper Crane of Hope. The interview was recorded just before the entire globe began to feel the impact of Covid-19, and Sam's message of hope and kindness felt so relevant. Now, with so much having changed, in such a short span of time, this message of hope and kindness feels even more dire.  Additionally, Samantha is absolutely delightful and our season 3 premiere may be the very thing we need right now!  Important links:  Paper Crane of Hope  Paper Crane of Hope instagram  Paper Crane of Hope Facebook #intuition #hope #kindness #Australia #PaperCrane #inspiringwomen #empowerment --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support

In this episode, Misty is lucky enough to sit down for a one on conversation with our guest Dana. Dana vulnerably recounts her story of domestic violence, delving deeply into important/key issues that a lot of "outsiders" may not understand. She addresses isolation, why victims often "stay", or "go back", and really gets personal.  Some of the topics in this episode may be uncomfortable.  Whether you're someone who has been in that position or not, Dana offers amazing wisdom about how to help and be supportive, even when we don't understand.  Important Links:  Dana's Website  Her website's associated Instagram  State By State Domestic Violence Statistics National Domestic Violence Hotline --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support

Hello 2020! There are so many wise, witty and empowering things we could say about this new year (and new decade). Quite some time ago Misty and Nikki sat down for a talk with Jessica Silverman, and it became clear this conversation would be the perfect and positivity-chalked way to kick off this new chapter. Among the many kernels of beautiful wisdom Jessica gives to us, are:  - Overcoming burnout & exhaustion  - How Overthinking results in our undoing and simply manifests the very things we didn't want to happen.  - WHY it is time to prioritize connecting to our body - Why we should learn to glorify rest.  - SO MUCH MORE...  Important Links and info:  Positivity Bias the book Finding One's Passion + True Connection to Self Jessica's Instagram  Jessica's  Private Facebook Group  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support
As we approach the end of 2019 and move towards, not only a new year, but also a new decade, we often find ourselves contemplating goals and feeling overwhelmed by finances. We decided to bring in an expert, both because this is what she does but ALSO because she got passionate about finances after being in that overwhelming place many of us have- and climbing out! Misty, Marion and Nikki sat down to chat with Niyani Armstrong. FULL of encouragement and PRACTICAL solutions, Niyani gives us a great conversation to help motivate us for this next calendar chapter!  Important Links and info:  Niyani's website Instagram Ibotta  Ebates  Be frugal  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support
Sometimes we have to talk about the hard things, and this is why we will occasionally bring in experts to share important information with us. This week Misty sits down to talk with Writer, Therapist, and coach Sharon Sheppard. Sharon specializes in working with women who are healing from childhood sexual trauma.  Though unintentionally, this episode can feel a little like a therapy session, too, which isn't a bad thing.  Important info & Relevant links:  Website: www.sharonsheppard.com FB:  https://www.facebook.com/SharonSheppardTraumaRecoveryCoach/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sexualtraumarecovery/ Sexual Assault statistics  RAINN EMDR --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support
Collective Listeners- this is EPISODE 60! What?!?!? it has been an amazing journey together and today's episode is perfect for marking the occasion! We asked author Lyndsey Medford to come back and talk the enneagram. There is NOTHING educational about this episode, instead it is just four of us talking about what we know, what we don't, why it matters and why (we believe) everyone should learn about their numbers stat!  We here, at the Collective, are big fans of podcasts! (obvi!) If you're new to the enneagram, or find yourself overwhelmed with where to start, we've included some podcasts that aren't intimidating and can help. If you have other resources you'd like to share- we'd love that too!  important links & info:  Enneagram Descriptions The Road Back to You: The enneagram journey of self discovery (Optional Study Guide) The Sacred Enneagram  Typology Podcast The Road Back to You Podcast  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support

Misty and Maggie sit down to chat with Tori Hill, women's advocate extraordinaire! It's true that Misty reached out to Tori, to come on the show, because she's kind of a mega fan. It is also fair to say that Tori is empowering and worth the love! In today's episode Tori shares about being sexually assaulted, and how personal the process of healing is. She reminds us we won't all heal the same, among other beautiful nuggets of wisdom she shares. Tori will continue to be a voice for women and BIG things are in store!  Links & other important info:  Website: tori-hill.com Instagram: tori.hill_writing Twitter: torihillwriting --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support

Misty and Nikki had the absolute pleasure of sitting down to chat with Jessica Boehm. She shares her heartbreaking journey through chronic illness, Leukemia and complete hopelessness. During her lowest point she took the knowledge that she had professionally and turned it into intentional exercises in restoring hope. As she began to correct her cognitive responses, her doctors noticed things improving with her health as well. Jessica shares a story that really reminds us that, no matter how hard/dark/overwhelming situations are- we still have choices.  Important links and info:  Jessica on Instagram  Jessica's blog  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support
It doesn't matter our backgrounds, where we came from, what our religious/personal beliefs are, or our economic status- Infertility does not discriminate. Some women rely on their faith to get through, while others seek different forms of growth. In this episode we come together with five women, to hear a fragment of their journey through infertility. Perhaps what brought strength to one, didn't another. Through the different experiences, different outcomes and individual journeys we learn a very powerful lesson: Infertility is isolating and connecting with other survivors is a powerfully cathartic thing...  Important links and info:  Emily's Instagram Misty's Instagram  Maggie's PCOS Instagram  Breanna's Instagram Breanna's Blog The Heart Wants What the Heart Wants (Breanna's book)  Rebekah's Instagram  Rebekah's Blog  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rainydaycollective/support
