Description

At 11 years old, I uncovered the truth behind my mother’s murder — and put my father behind bars. That trauma didn't end my story; it lit the fire that still fuels it.

Here, I share hard-won insights on resilience, healing, and the messy, yet meaningful work of becoming whole again.

This is about what comes next: the resilience, the rebuilding, the rise.

You're not alone. You're not broken. And you're not done yet.

Collier and Brenda welcome attorney and author David Robinson, Esq. to the program to share his thoughts on the current state of policing in the United States. With over 30 years of experience in law enforcement and on both sides of the infamous "Blue Line," David's unique perspective elevates the current debate of Power VS Authority and how much is too much. We explore how the curing of "the symptoms" does not cure "the disease", but rather further escalates the current crash course between the civilian population and those in uniform trying to keep the streets safe. Collier notes how the current situation seems to go far beyond race and/or gender but rather comes down to one simple scenario: those who seek to maintain power versus those who seek to attain it. Intuitive Medium Kiersten Hathcock and Retired NYPD Detective Mark Pucci discuss their decade-long partnership working on missing persons and homicide cases. About my guests: Kiersten Parsons Hathcock is a Shark Tank-winning, self-taught carpenter & furniture designer who defied the odds and built an internationally-known furniture company out of her garage. But what most don't know is that she's also an ordinary woman who was thrown into extraordinary circumstances at the age of 36 when she suddenly started seeing and hearing the spirits of dead children, some of whom were killed by predators. Her intuitive awakening led to partnerships with detectives around the country and a publishing deal for her memoir called Little Voices, which was released in September 2022. But it doesn't end there. Little did Kiersten know at the time, the kids weren't just coming to her for help...they were coming to save her life. Kiersten is an incredibly vulnerable, well-spoken, down-to-earth, credible mom-of-two (and childhood sexual abuse survivor) who inspires people of all ages to trust their intuition as a roadmap for life and healing. Detectives and families around the country are ardent supporters of her decade-long work as a volunteer medium. Her story is unique in many ways (see below). Topics include but are not limited to: Developing Intuition, Life as a Psychic Detective, Healing from Narcissistic/Sociopathic Abuse, Using Intuition in Business, Surviving and Escaping from Domestic Violence, Healing from Childhood Sexual Abuse, What I've Learned as the Parent of a Transgender Adult. Retired NYPD Detective Mark Pucci is the founder of the National Institute for Law & Justice. According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons (NamUS) database, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 600,000 persons of all ages go missing every year, and approximately 4,400 unidentified bodies are recovered every year. It’s no wonder law enforcement partners are struggling to devote the time they want and need to solving missing persons cases (and homicide cases). Families are forced to look for additional investigative help, and this can be costly. This is the very reason Mark Pucci founded NILJ. Our goal is to ensure that each family does not have to pay out-of-pocket for much-needed investigative services. Generous personal and corporate donations as well as grant monies provide funds our services for families desperately searching for answers and hope. #truecrime #trauma #mentalhealth #criminaljustice #lawandcrime #courttv Collier's Links: ➡️ Wanna say thanks for a great episode? https://www.buymeacoffee.com/collierlandry ➡️ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/collierlandry ➡️ Check out my Merch Store: https://www.collierlandry.com/store ➡️ Amazon Affiliate Link: https://www.collierlandry.com/amazon ➡️ YouTube- https://www.youtube.com/collierlandry Collier's Live Schedule, updated on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook: Instagram: Tuesday 2 pm ET / 11 am PT YouTube: Wednesdays & Thursdays @ 6pm ET / 3pm PT ▶ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/collierlandry/ ▶ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@collierlandry ▶ Twitter: https://twitter.com/collierlandry ▶ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/collierlandry ▶ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/collierlandry/ Learn more about your ad choices. Blevins explains how MLMs operate by recruiting individuals to sell products and recruit others to do the same, creating a hierarchical structure. Participants often invest large amounts of money upfront to buy products and gain access to the MLM's network. However, the vast majority of participants do not earn a significant income and often end up in debt. Blevins also discusses the psychological manipulation tactics used by MLMs to keep participants engaged and invested, including emphasizing personal responsibility and using social pressure to maintain participation. She describes how these tactics can lead to feelings of guilt and shame among participants who are unable to succeed in the industry. Blevins emphasizes the importance of educating oneself and others about the dangers of MLMs, as well as providing support and resources for those who have been affected by them. The case remains unsolved, and the article examines several theories surrounding the murder. The first theory suggests that JonBenét's parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, were involved in the murder, possibly in an attempt to cover up an accident or to protect one of their other children. However, DNA evidence found at the scene did not match any family members. Another theory suggests that an intruder was responsible for JonBenét's murder. Evidence at the scene suggested that someone had entered the home, and a broken window in the basement appeared to be an entry point. However, there were no signs of forced entry elsewhere in the home, and the police were unable to identify any suspects. A third theory suggests that a sex offender or a pedophile committed JonBenét's murder. This theory is supported by evidence that JonBenét had been sexually assaulted prior to her death. However, no suspects matching this description have been identified. The murder of JonBenét Ramsey remains unsolved, and the truth may never be known. Today's episode deals with childhood trauma in schools, centered around the recent events in Nashville, TN. Host Collier Landry shares what it was like at his school the day he found out about the murder of his mother. Childhood trauma can have severe impacts on mental health, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. It's crucial to seek help from a mental health professional to process and cope with trauma. Collier's story sheds light on the importance of having a support system and seeking help to overcome childhood trauma, mental health, support system, coping with trauma, PTSD. Nashville Events: On Monday, March 27, 2023, a shooter opened fire at The Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville, killing six people. The shooter, identified as 28-year-old Audrey Hale, was a former student at the school and arrived at the scene at around 9:53 a.m. armed with two "assault-style" weapons and a handgun. The Nashville police response to the shooting has come under scrutiny following a similar incident in Uvalde, Texas, where law enforcement took 70 minutes to storm a classroom after a shooting. However, in Nashville, the police response time was approximately eight minutes, and the shooter was taken down within four minutes of the police arriving on the scene. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and the families of the victims are receiving support from the community. The incident has reignited the debate over gun control and school safety in the United States. Additional talking points in today's episode. • #Gwynnocent Gwyneth Paltrow was being sued by Terry Sanderson, a retired optometrist, for causing him severe injuries during a skiing incident in 2016, but she has since won the judgment. Paltrow was awarded one dollar plus attorney's fees in the case.. Paltrow counter-sued, claiming Sanderson's fault. There is speculation as to why Sanderson waited three years to file. • The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) officially ruled Steven Smith's case a homicide and reopened the investigation. Smith died on July 8, 2015, in a pedestrian vs. motor vehicle accident. A rape kit was done on Smith's body hours after the discovery, but it was never analyzed, and there is no confirmation of where the kit is or why it was ordered. • There has been public discussion about the possible connection between Bryan Kohberger's sisters losing their jobs and their brother's involvement in a criminal case. A recent Vanity Fair article outlined the fever pitch of conjecture surrounding the Idaho Four case. This raises the question of whether the families of criminals are victims as well. Buster Murdaugh’s girlfriend threatened to sue media and online sleuths for following her around and pretending to be media. • There is an update in the case of Michael Joseph Vaughan, who went missing in Fruitland, Idaho, in 2021. Sarah Wondra, a neighbor of the Vaughans, has been found competent to face her charges and has three additional felony charges filed against her. LE claims that these charges are unrelated to Michael. Sarah has two hearings scheduled in April. What would've happened to Collier's mother's murder case had he not gotten involved to tip off the police and testify against his father? Serial killers never brought to justice: Nina shares her personal story growing up in an area terrorized by murderers who were never identified. In this episode, host Collier Landry shares his avoidance of reading a letter from his father that he received only a couple weeks ago on his birthday. This leads him to reflect on how this anxiety of avoiding opening the letter led him to think about his father's mortality. Collier also looks at the similarities between Alex Murdaugh's behavior with his surviving son Buster Murdaugh, and how that mirrors Collier's own relationship with his father Dr. John F. Boyle, Jr. Collier touches on how he and Buster will both be dealing with the intergenerational trauma of having their father's murder their mothers, and destroy everything in their path. Trauma is a complex and pervasive experience that can have lasting effects on a person's mental and emotional well-being. The question of whether a person lives with trauma or if trauma outlives them depends on various factors such as the nature and severity of the traumatic event, the person's coping mechanisms, and the available support systems. Living with trauma means that a person continues to experience the effects of the traumatic event in their day-to-day life. This can manifest as symptoms such as anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and hypervigilance. Living with trauma can be challenging, and individuals may require professional help, such as therapy or counseling, to manage their symptoms effectively. On the other hand, trauma can also outlive a person, meaning that the impact of the traumatic event extends beyond the person's lifespan. This can occur in cases where trauma affects future generations, such as in the case of intergenerational trauma, where the traumatic experience is passed down through the family line. Trauma can also outlive a person in a broader sense, such as when a traumatic event has a significant impact on society or culture. For example, historical events such as genocide or war can continue to affect entire communities and nations long after the event has occurred. In conclusion, whether a person lives with trauma or if trauma outlives them is a complex issue that depends on various factors. While living with trauma can be challenging, seeking professional help and having access to support systems can help individuals manage their symptoms effectively. However, trauma can also have lasting impacts on future generations and society as a whole, highlighting the importance of addressing and healing from traumatic experiences.
