It's a good chilly day to stop off at the area to enjoy a good morning workout, grab some good breakfast at a cafe, and hang w/ some buddies as we prepare for Jon Stewart's 'Rally to Restore Sanity' which will be off the chain! But this morning's journey starts in almost everybody's favorite little area, Dupont Circle. This is where my inspiration of wild musical fusions kick in.
We have a suitcase of those issues, I like to call it the "ex files." They're full of bad moments, maybe some dumb yet hilarious ones. Ex boo, former friends, previous pets, etc. LOL I don't know about the pets part. The ones who will never leave us alone... this is for each and every one of you.
"What about it?" Are we using it to the fullest, or do we let day by day pass us by without getting everything out of life like we should?
This episode goes out to my best friend on the entire planet as I recall my some fun and not maybe not so fun moments about the pinup princess.
A midnight 'Touch...' I could get used to this. Different day, same type of episode, more questions answered, more hot music, dedications and once again bringing people closer together.
A lot of people ask, "How come you don't play this or that, or one of these?" They've been kept on the back burner because they're already being played on other shows. Why join the group who plays the same stuff over and over again? So here you go. A little something for you to enjoy as soon as that bell rings, and maybe I could finally be left alone for a while (lol). I know you'll enjoy it on the bus.
Fall is that time of the year where I become really lovey dovey, extremely positive and very self confident in everything I do. What starts off a good day? Well waking up is one of them, the cool air, a great atmosphere, your family asking a million questions as you get ready for work. You can enjoy the peaceful sounds to help start your Friday morning.
For me it's the little things that makes me happy: frozen yogurt, my students, my nephew's strategies when it comes to the Wii and his sense of fashion as a 5 year old, Fall weather, etc. It's just a few examples. What are some of the things that you appreciate the most?
Officially one of the most soothing and amazing albums ever, I believe it's something that everyone should wake up to in the morning, or on their way to work. Stuck in traffic? It's okay, I got you. While listening to this timeless tribute to J Dilla, I guarantee it will change your mood before you reach your destination.
Word. Something that's been used so much in my vocabulary. You would say something almost really important or something that doesn't makes sense, and my response will be: OH WORD??? or Oh... .. . word? Anyway if there's anything you would like to share on the air (something funny, shocking, maybe some dumb sh**), feel free to call in or hit the chat room. Let's enjoy ourselves a bit, get in touch w/ our silliness.
It's that time again to answer all of those deep questions that you've been launching in my inbox. Don't worry I'll do my best to keep it PG-13 this time.
The 90's were everything to me: The birth of the Power Rangers franchise, Pepper Ann was my first interracial crush, crybabies taught me how to pop lock, Mortal Kombat and Tekken became a video game religion, and Link from The Legend of Zelda grew to become untouchable. A show on Nickelodeon called 'Are You Afraid of the Dark?' turned me into a junkie for horror flicks, and the music... was so colorful. There was also a late 80's side to me as well. I mean I was just thought of in the 80's, so please share w/ me some of those great moments from way back then. Journey w/ me as we take a flashback into the good ol' days.
We know. It doesn't have to make sense.
What can be better than the first 'Touch' episode? The second one(lol). Of course you may know all about foreplay, but do you know about the most forgotten thing during sex? With a special guest we'll be more than happy to answer any questions you have. I'm sure you can handle part two.
Ah, yes... the Grammy nominated R&B, Hippie, Neo-Soul Rock Star has blessed my soul over the years w/ his unique flavor. He's without a doubt becoming one of DC's finest, and I'll share w/ you a taste from his masterpiece.
Vacation time is over with, and I'm coming back in a more positive way. That also means a really happy, hype type of playlist. *Not intended for one-sided listeners*
Awww yeaaaa, you know about me and quickies... you know. My musical quickies(lol). There's a place where there's a fusion of craziness; full of life. The stores, the foods, secret locations, people in multi colored short shorts on bicycles which is not cool at times, and then there's the music. Everywhere you go, whatever store you walk in, you're surrounded by a different, hype style... and you sometimes can't help but to rock your head.
Ah... Dupont Circle, it's where I've done my first improv performance in front of a street crowd 10 years ago (I was 14 in case you were wondering). The musician playing next to the guy selling flowers on the corner next to the hot dog cart. The kats meeting up w/ their laptops, taking photos and playing chess... others gathering for a protest. It's an interesting mixture, especially at night.
That's what sparked my curiosity in art and different flavors of music. You may pretend not to like it at first, but soon it'll get a hold of you. This is a small taste of the Dupont Circle nightlife. Well... the side I've been introduced to.
Yep, the complex hearts Jay-Z so much that this ep. will be on 1 of the greatest rappers alive. Fused w/ a genius jazzy effect from Ritchcraft, I present to you 'The Big Band Blueprint.'
If I had a nightclub of my own, I would call it 'Glo,' but I think there's a place or two that already has that name. I mean neon lights would flash like crazy whenever a top hit song comes on, a guest performer comes through and do their thing(and I have a good list of them), sexy a** flavas. . . meaning style and / or drinks in my neighborhood, but most importantly... nonstop entertainment. I'd like to share a taste of that. Usher one moment, Kesha the next; anything can happen. Sure, hip hop and r&b is nice, but I need more.
If you're available, I'd love to spend some time with you... with a playlist of course. ^_^ Get comfy with your baby in the bedroom with a scented candle here and there to illuminate the spot a bit and make it really romantic. You've asked for a sexy episode and now your wish has been granted.
