Hello everyone! This is an update podcast of why I haven’t been as active.
Hi everyone and welcome to the Creative Podcast, this is Transformation Thursday. Let’s start with a quote – “Take care of your body because it’s the only place you have to live.” My only regret is that I didn’t take care of my body as a child & teen. My bad youth habits have affected me as an adult, but its never to late to regain control of your health. My tip for you today is this: If you’re not working out already, you should start today. Along with working out I want you to begin to cut back on just 1 thing that you know you are eating that is doing bad for your body and replacing it with something that can benefit you. These little steps seem insignificant, but in reality, they will help you transform your body, mind and health. If this helps connect with me on twitter @al_designs or Instagram @alondralopezphotography. I have a fitness vlog on YouTube called Alondrita's Fitness in case you want to follow my fitness journey. Thank you for listening.
Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to the Creative Podcast. Today I present you with #WednesdaysWordsOfWisdom – “The gear you can't afford is not the barrier keeping you from success. Gear has very little to do with photography.” - Chase Jarvis. I am a huge fan of Chase’s photography and his inspiration. I love this quote because it is so true! We tend to believe that just because we don’t have the latest and greatest camera or lens, we can’t put out great work. The more I study #photography and learn about my camera and how the exposure triangle works and effects my exposure the more my photos begins to improve. I’ve had my camera for 7 years, and just 2 years ago I began to learn & understand how to properly use it and manipulate the settings to get the proper exposure. I have a kit lens, and you can see the evolution of my work improve little by little. Like Chase & my teacher say “it’s not about your equipment, it’s about the person behind the equipment that makes all the differe
Happy Monday everyone here is Monday’s Motivational quote “Your creativity will lead you to wonderful achievements.” Guys we are all creative in one form or another and in different medias. We need to find that inner creativity and develop it daily. What are you most creative at? I hope you enjoy this short episode, have a wonderful day. #TheCreativePodcast
Happy Saturday guys!! Here is a short clip on how I plan to make my day a good day, because in life there are only good days & it’s up to you on how much of a good day you want to have.
Welcome back to the return of #TheCreativePodcast It has been awhile since my last post because 1. I have been busy & 2. I lost my motivation & drive. The reason for that is because I was changed into a different department while still doing my department work & it has been stressing me out greatly. Losing my motivation has affected me in all areas & I realized that I can’t allow work stress to stop me from performing at my best. I took the time to brainstorm how I wanted to go about this podcast, I want to keep it short, informative and motivational. The podcast will contain talks about design & photography, but also fitness, motivation and product reviews. Basically, anything I feel like chatting about lol. So today it will be about #FreelanceFriday. I want to encourage you to start your side hustle. We all have a passion for different things. We are all good at many things and enjoy doing a specific hobby. For me its photography. I’ve been blessed with a few photo events lately, eno
Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you all are having an excellent day. I want to share a question with you today that I believe everyone should star ask themselves daily and anytime you are going to make any decision. The question is: How will this help me and how will this hurt me? For example, if you are trying to lose weight and reach a target weight like me, I know I have to stay focused on working out and eating clean. So, if I am craving ice cream (which I always do) before I pull out the ice cream from the freezer I need to ask myself “if I eat this, will this help me or will this hurt me” in reaching my weight goal? As you can tell eating that ice cream will not help me reach my fitness goal. So, I will choose to stay away from it. Hope this helps! If it does lets connect on twitter @al_designs Instagram alondralopezphotography or facebook alondralopoez.designs
If you’re aiming to be the best at what you do, you can’t worry about whether your actions will upset others, or what they’ll think of you. Tim Grover We have such a fear of what others will think of us that we use that fear as an excuse to not act and take the path we need to. Why do we do that to ourselves? Why do we limit our potential do to what others may think? Society in general will labeling us. What do I mean? As kids we receive the first of these labels by our parents/teachers/family. As we grow up, the community adds its own set. Some can be good, but for the most part labels are negative and they limit us. These labels and opinions stop us from find the courage to reach or goals and full potential. What we need to do is dig deep inside, discover who we really are and then create our true labels. If others don’t like it, screw them! Let them have their opinions about you! You know the real you and that’s all that should matter. Once you establish your ow
Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to another episode of The Creative Podcast. I want to start off with a quote by Grant Cardone. If you go out and start making things happen, something will happen. I can contest to that. You guys know that I have been on a fitness journey since last year and more aggressively this year. My goal is to reach my lowest ever recorded weight of 165 lbs back in 2015. On January 1, 2018 I weighed in at 204 lbs and as of now May 25, 2018 I am down to 174 lbs. That’s a total of 30 lbs. So, when I saw this quote I realized how true it is. In order for me to reach my 1st target weight of 165 I had to 1st commit, 2nd focus and 3rd go out and make it happen (put in the work). People say I am crazy and that I don’t need to workout as much as I do per week, but they don’t know what I need or want! I know my body, I’ve done it before and lost 110lbs. and because I’ve done it before I know exactly how much I need to push myself! You can’t tell me what I need because my b
Hi guys this is an update for the month of May!
Hey guys! Welcome to Thursday’s Designer Tip. “Design is thinking made visual.” –Saul Bass My tip for today is to participate in a daily design challenge. You can start your own or join one. Currently I joined the Adobe Daily Creative Challenge and today is day 3. It’s a pretty cool challenge and well needed for me as a designer because I need to practice my AI skills. My current job is repetitive and well this is a great way for me to practice. You can check out the challenge yourself and join for free. The only way for us to improve is to practice daily and have fun with it!. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #ThursdaysDesignerTip #Designer #DesignerTip
Hey guys! Good morning! Here are Wednesday’s words of wisdom: Mentoring is an indispensable requirement for an artist's growth. Not only are skills and experience shared, but there is value in the essential re-examination of one's own work and techniques. -Jim Norman This is an awesome quote! As an artist myself mentorship is very important. I have always wanted to find a mentor for different areas of my life. I am currently blessed with 4. The first two are my parents, they have raised me to be the person I am today, my faith and moral principles are do to their teachings. Now as an adult I know based upon my core foundation what is right and wrong based on what they taught me. My 2nd mentor is my trainer, he has taught me what it takes to succeed in the health and fitness department. With his guidance I have begun to see results and I am super happy. My 3rd mentor is my photography instructor. With his teaching I have begun to see and understand photography with a new set of eyes. Ph
Hey guys! This is The Creative Podcast Tuesday’s Photography tip! I want to talk about portraits today. When taking portraits, remember these 6 steps. 1) ask the person which is their best side, 2) if they are sitting on a chair/stool make sure their body is slightly turned and that they lower one of their shoulders, 3) Their head should be tilted down not up, we don’t want to see nostrils, 4) show the hands, if you must cut off the limbs you can cut them between joints (never on the joints), 5) Make sure you land your focal point on the eye closest to you, 6) The best apertures to shoot your portraits are f2.8 –f 5.6 and make sure it’s a tight crop. I hope these tip help you! Let me know if you try them by connecting with me on twitter @al_designs and Instagram alondralopezphotography and mentioning the podcast. #AL_Designs #TheCreativePodcast #TheCreativeVlog #TuesdaysTip #TuesdaysPhotographyTip #PhotographyTip #Photography
Hey guys! Here is Monday’s Motivation. Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. - Tony Robbins. Since I mentioned to you guys that I heard Grant Cardone say that he writes his goals twice a day in his daily planner, I started Appling that principle. I bought his 10X planner to get me started (you can see my 10X vlog on Youtube by searching Alondra Lopez Designs). The planner lasted me about 90 days, but I did notice a big difference in: 1) how much more organized I got. 2) I realized how much dead time I had during the day that wasn’t being used productively and 3) by using this planner I accomplished a lot of the goals/targets I set for the day/week/month. I am very pleased with the planner, but most importantly the basic concept of the importance of writing down you goals daily. Writing them down and keeping them near allows you to reread them during the day and it pushes you to try and complete them. There are times you won’t complete them, but that
