The Cricket Podcast boys meet up to talk about the latest news from across the sport. India and New Zealand have named their World Test Championship Final squads. Which looks better on paper? Are there any surprise omissions? Which team are favourites? India have also announced that they will be taking on Sri Lanka in a white ball series. Meaning that they'll have about 60 players on international duty during the summer.  Finally, the boys chat about the County Championship, and discuss which players from the competition may be pressing for a place in the England team.  We were joined on this episode by Nakul Pande Our Twitter and Instagram: @thecricketpod Our sponsor: https://woodstockcricket.co.uk/ Our Patreon:  https://www.patreon.com/thecricketpod

The Cricket Podcast get together to cover the last three IPL matches. In the first match. Starting with yesterday's double header as Mumbai Indians overcame Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals coasted past Kolkata Knight Riders.    Is this the end of the road for Captain Morgan? What should we do about Shivam Dube? And the Mumbai Indians back? We will then move on to today's fixture between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, as Kohli's men look to head back to the top of the table, and KL Rahul's boys hope to finally build some momentum. The Cricket Podcast get together to cover the last two IPL matches. In the first match of the show the boys chat aboutyesterday's thriller between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals. Shimron Hetmyer almost pulled it off, but ended up leaving DC just one run short. In RCB's innings de Villiers was a freak, again, bringing up his 5,000th IPL run. The boys will also be covering today's match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. CSK continued their good form, largely thanks to a terrible innings played by David Warner. Despite Williamson's heroics (again), SRH set a below par score, and Faf du Plessis and Gaikwad helped CSK hunt it down with ease. The Cricket Podcast get together to cover the last four  IPL matches. In the first match of the show the boys chat about the dismal Kolkata Knight Riders, who somehow managed to lose a game versus Rajasthan Royals. They will also be covering the two Sunday matches, starting with CSK, who took on RCB in the early game, featuring Jadeja causing mayhem with bat, ball and in the field. Next they'll cover the super-over in Sunday's late game, as SRH blew it twice, despite heroics from Kane Williamson.    Finally they'll cover Punjab Kings, who are taking on Kolkata Knight Riders.  Are KKR the worst team in the tournament? Is Jadeja the best player in the tournament? Can Punjab Kings move to an even record? The Cricket Podcast get together to cover the last three IPL matches. The IPL is beginning to settle down a little now, and we are starting to get a feeling for who is good and who is bad.    Delhi Capitals took an excellent win over Mumbai Indians, despite  picking Steve Smith. Punjab Kings melted down (again) versus Sunrisers, both teams now have one win! And Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings played out a thriller, including a monster over as Pat Cummins hit Sam Curran for 30!   Featured games:  MI v DC, PBKS v SRH, CSK v KKR   Our Twitter and Instagram: @thecricketpod   Our sponsor: https://woodstockcricket.co.uk/   Our Patreon:  https://www.patreon.com/thecricketpod
Jack, Ross and Max discuss Monday's IPL fixture between CSK and RR. CSK's batting order (mostly) all chipped in to put on a decent score of 188 from their 20 overs. In reply Buttler started well, but once he fell under the pressure of carrying a sub-par Royals side, the middle order disintegrated at the hands of Jadeja and Moeen Ali, giving CSK another comfortable win.  Just how bad are Rajasthan Royals, and why is Shivam Dube batting at 4? And are CSK actually in with a shout? Follow us on Twitter and Instagram @thecricketpod - and check out our sponsors Woodstock cricket!

On IPL match day seven, Rajasthan Royals beat the Delhi Capitals in another thrilling fixture. Chris Morris was the hero for RR as they came from nowhere to steal victory at the death from the Capitals. Tom Curran was the fall guy for DC, why was he there and will he play again? Has Chris Morris paid off his enormous price tag, probably a fair bit of it? And was Tom Curran adopted? Before this match, Rajasthan Royals lost to Punjab Kings in their IPL opener, despite an awesome innings from Sanju Samson. Delhi, on the other hand, won their opener against Chennai Super Kings, with Prithvi Shaw the star of the show on that occasion.  Our Twitter and Instagram: @thecricketpod  Our sponsore: https://woodstockcricket.co.uk/  Our Patreon:  https://www.patreon.com/thecricketpod Intro 0:00 Summary 2:20 Delhi Capitals Batting 3:50 Rajaasthan Royals batting 10:20 Tom Curran 21:10 Question 25:05 #RRvDC #IPL2021
Jack, Ross and Max discuss the day's play between SRH and RCB, with RCB taking the points to make it two wins from their first two. A first IPL 50 in 5 years for Glenn Maxwell set RCB on their way, and some questionable shot selection and wearing pitch combined to thwart SRH in their chase after they looked comfortable. Where do SRH go from here, and are RCB looking like contenders? Follow us on Twitter and Instagram @thecricketpod
On IPL match day five, Kolkata Knight Riders took on Mumbai Indians. KKR won their first match of the season, easily brushing aside SRH, thanks to great knocks from Rahul Tripathi and Nitish rana. Mumbai, meanwhile, lost their first match of the season (as usual), so will be looking to fight back hard in game 2. Today though, Mumbai were able to come back, both in terms of the IPL, but also miraculously in the final 5 overs of the match! After recapping KKR v MI we will go on tot take a look back at yesterday's match between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings, the game of the tournament so far...  You can follow The Cricket Podcast on Twitter and Instagram @thecricketpod Intro 0:00 KKR v MI 3:45 RR v PBKS 25:25 Questions 36:45 #SRHvKKR #IPL2021
On IPL match day three, Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Kolkata Knight Riders. Last year SRH made the play-offs before losing to Delhi in the semi-final, meanwhile Kolkata Knight Riders were knocked out on net run rate for the second year in a row. With Bhuveneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan leading the line for SRH, many people have tipped them as one of the favourites for this year's IPL. On the other hand, KKR fans will be hoping that their big stars (Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins, etc.) are able to finally come to the party.  On this episode the boys are joined by DJ from the Edges and Sledges Podcast: https://youtube.com/channel/UCXuz5pvz... You can follow The Cricket Podcast on Twitter and Instagram @thecricketpod #SRHvKKR #IPL2021
Jack, Ross and Max are joined by Daniel Norcross (@norcrosscricket) to discuss the second game of the 2021 IPL (and our third attempt at a livestream) between CSK and Delhi Capitals. There was much to look at going into this game with the spotlight on Pant's captaincy, the return of Suresh Raina and two Curran brothers facing off. Sam got the better of the individual battle, but team Tom came out on top as Delhi cantered to a 7 wicket win. How good were Dhawan and Shaw and should CSK fans start panicking already? Please remember to follow us on Twitter and Instagram, @thecricketpod, and subscribe on YouTube!
Jack, Ross and Max are joined once again by Dan Weston to discuss the opening game of the 2021 IPL. The game between MI and RCB went down to the wire, with Harshal Patel's five-wicket haul and AB de Villier's late 48 swinging the game in RCB's favour. Are there causes for concern for Mumbai? Have RCB answered their death bowling issues? Or was it just a one-off? Follow us on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram - @thecricketpod
In a first for The Cricket Podcast, we streamed the show live. We made our predictions for the 2021 IPL season. Including who we think will win, who will be top wicket taker, and who will svore the most runs. Then moved on to the questions contributed by our audience, first those from Twitter, then any comments made in the video's livechat.  Finally we chose which franchises we follow in the 2021 IPL, and will all be praying that we don't get Chennai Super Kings. A reminder that you can follow The Cricket Podcast @thecricketpod on Twitter and Instagram.
The 2020 Champions, Mumbai Indians, are the last team we preview in our eight part 2021 IPL preview. They were so dominant in 2020 that the discussion about their side has transcended commentary on last year, and the great debate is now whether they are the best T20 team ever. With a team that includs: Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya- they certainly have some of the greatest players of all time.  Are their spinners a weakness? Are they the best team in T20 history?  Don't forget to follow The Cricket Podcast on Twitter and Instagram: @thecricketpod Intro 0:00 Squad 2:20 Chance of winning 13:00 Predictions 19:05 #IPL2021 #MI #MumbaiIndians
Our IPL Preview series continues with Delhi Capitals. Last year the Capitals finished as runners-up, although, in reality, they were a very distant second to Mumbai Indians. What appeared to let them down was a lack of firepower with the bat, which made their decision to pick up Steve Smith at the auction extremely puzzling. Overall though, their team is still decent, with players like Rabada, Nortje and, most notably, Rishabh Pant providing a very strong core to their squad. How will their batting line-up shape up? Will the lack of a leg spinner cause them problems? Can Tom Curran step into Kagiso Rabada's shoes?
