Liam and Cal are back at it again with their first review of 2025 and a return to Justice League Unlimited for the month of January. This week they continue on in Season Three of JLU with the episode "To Another Shore." On this episode, the hosts discuss the unique "embargo" that helped shape this episode into one that would alter the course of the remainder of the series, why character embargos are so confusing and what influenced the various limitations on JLU over the three seasons. The hosts also discuss an episode with a plot right out of Super Friends, the unique illustrations and whose art directly influenced the work by Bruce Timm, a meta musical moment for the first time in the DCAU and a rather distracting casting choice for one of the episode's minor characters. All of this and the usual fun, plus a look at next week's episode all await you on this week's edition of the DCAU Review! Please Consider Supporting the Podcast: Subscribe to the DCAU Review on Spotifyand Apple Podcasts and please consider leaving us a 5-star review Buy some merch: https://dcaureview.myspreadshop.com/ Become a monthly or one time supporter: buymeacoffee.com/DCAUReviewFinal Scores:Plot: Cal: 5/10 – Liam: 5/10Visuals/Animation: Cal: 10/10 – Liam: 9/10Music: Cal: 9/10 – Liam: 9/10Voice Acting: Cal: 7/10 – Liam: 8/10Bonus Point: NoneFinal Tally: Cal: 31/40 – Liam: 31/40
Another week and another "Back to the Future" review as the Good Brothers return to Neo-Gotham for a review of Batman Beyond season three episode "Betrayal." The hosts discuss the return of Peter Gabriel's favorite Beyond villain, Big Time and how the bones of an interesting episode exist within the script but ultimately disappoint when it comes to the final result. The hosts also talk Batman evacuating the Batmobile, new and old Batarangs and the recasting of classic DCAU (and recent star of HBO's hit series The Penguin) voice actor as the main antagonist for the episode. Cal & Liam also discuss some fine musical numbers as well as previewing next week's episode and much more on this week's DCAU Review!

This week the hosts are looking back at how their top and bottom five ranked episodes compare to the lists that inspired them to start the podcast nearly 7 years ago. Along the way they reminisce and recap some of their favorite episodes and guests who joined them for some of the most memorable scores of the entire BTAS and discuss what episodes get a bad wrap, what episodes should get more hate and which episodes they scored low but are must-watches. All of this and much more await on this week's DCAU Review, review!
The hits keep coming for the Good Brothers in the month of March as they review the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Harley's Holiday." Cal and Liam break down a classic Paul Dini written episode with direction from friend of the show Kevin Altieri which includes Tex Avery inspired slapstick action and an Arleen Sorkin master class in Harley Quinn personification. The hosts also talk about some of the more memorable visual gags, references to Alan Moore's Killing Joke and Lolita Ritmanis' excellent soundtrack. The Good Brothers are back, continuing with their month of Static Shock reviews, this week with the return of two of their favorite recurring characters in Rubberband Man and Ebon and their latest obsession, Carmen Dillo. With a plot that focuses on Static's jealousy and suspicion of Rubberband Man's reform and Ebon trying his best to convince him that no one will ever believe he's changed, Cal and Liam discuss the underlying message while also imagining what a group of DCAU anthropomorphic super villain would look like. Plus the hosts talk about music that seems to have inspired a certain Soulja Boy track, and a choice by sound editors to add a vocal effect to one character makes it stand out from prior appearances. Also the hosts compare similar stories on other DCAU episodes and where this one ranks in the Static episodes reviewed thus far, and an exciting announcement about next week's exciting crossover episode!

Liam and Cal sit down to review one of the most memorable episodes of Justice League Unlimited this week and while the general plot is similar, we can promise you this is not a sequel to Freaky Friday. The episode in question is "The Great Brain Robbery" which sees Lex Luthor and The Flash swamp consciousnesses as hijinks ensues. The hosts talk about the instantly memorable plot and quotable one-liners from the leads and supporting cast, the continued Mr. Terrific shine, how Michale Rosenbaum and Clancy Brown did with impersonating one another and even a nod to the classic Green Lantern yellow weakness. Plus the hosts discuss the most memorable line from the episode and why Tala seems to be so blissfully ignorant in this episode with our question of the week. Cal & Liam are back with another new review, this week tackling the season three Justice League Unlimited episode "Patriot Act" which continues the season's theme of fantastic comic book fun but also has the return of the more politically charge characters from the season two's Cadmus story. The episode finds General Eiling returning and doing whatever he has to challenge metahumans and convince the American people of their danger. Hear the hosts discuss going from a more cartoony storyline back to one with more of a commentary on the 2006 political climate, visual homages to the other big comic book company as well as several deep cut DC heroes. They also discuss the potential of this episode making Teen Titans canon to the DCAU and a really fun voice cast.
