I even have a little pop and soft rock wedged into these conversations. Do you remember when radio was king? Let’s talk about it! Do you recall the joy and pain of cassettes and vinyl? Let’s get into it. I’m driving down the memory lane of building a music collection in the 80s, creating a soundtrack to life as a teenager in the 90s and beyond. I am picking up passengers along the way as I discuss all my favorite music from then to now.

In this episode I run down a 90s album that really put all eyes on Prince (again). He had a huge reign - think purple - in the 80s. He did a little acting, dropped more hits, a few misses, dominated the charts with more than one soundtrack and parted ways with The Revolution, all before 1990.
This album marks the cool return of Prince after all the chaos that ensues from parting ways with The Revolution to the new sound he created with NPG.

You can hate it or love it, but R. Kelly ruled the 90s in R&B. His name stayed on the charts, and when he wasn't he was still making music. He was often known for remixing a track to help someone else get on the charts. Later we find that he did a whole lot of other stuff too. Here is my 2 cents on just a fraction of his 90s reign in music - before surviving - along with songs that I gravitated towards.
