We know that all of Scripture is God breathed and profitable for us in the Christian life. But what do we do with the tricky parts of Scripture? Symbols, allegory, prophecy—oh my! It can be intimidating or overwhelming, leaving us paralyzed and unsure of what to do. If you have ever been left scratching your head after reading the Bible, you are not alone!
In this episode, Krystal is joined by Spencer Valeri, Executive Vice President of Product Development at The Daily Grace Co. Spencer is the author of our newest Bible study, Revelation: The End of Time and the Eternal King. They discuss practical Bible study tips, general encouragement, and so much more.

In today’s conversation, we tackle three words to help you grow spiritually—and they may be new to you! The words are: orthodoxy, orthopraxy, and orthopathy. Though these seem like big, weighty theological terms, we break them down and provide ways to practically incorporate these concepts into your walk with the Lord. Understanding these three words will help us to reorient our hearts and passions to align with the truths of Scripture. We pray this episode will deepen your love for God and His Word.

Emma and Suzanne discuss the Inductive Bible Study Method and how you can apply this method to a 15 minute Bible study routine.
Inductive Bible Study Method:
Observe
Observe = What does the text say?
Pick 1-2 of these to observe in the text:
Attributes of God
Repeated words
Lists
Comparisons/contrasts
Questions
Commands
Transition words
Unfamiliar words
Interpret
Interpret = What does the text mean?
Interpretation looks at:
Historical Context
Literary Context
Metanarrative of the Bible
Redemptive History
Ask yourself these questions in interpretation:
What questions do you have about the text?
Tip: This is where study Bibles and commentaries are really helpful!
If you were to summarize the passage in one sentence, what would you say?
Apply
Apply = What does the text mean for me today?
Ask yourself these questions:
What does this passage teach us about God?
What does this passage teach us about humanity?
Is there a command I need to obey?
How does this point to Christ?
Tips for finding the Christ connection:
Does it show a need for Christ?
Is there a promise or prophecy about Christ?
Is Christ present in the text?

I just found your podcast, and I am so excited and anxious to dive in. as a busy mom of 3 little and a husband who doesn't believe I need to get my priorities in order. I'm excited to add this into my morning routine to learn, grow, and teach my boys!¡
This episode is EXCELLENT! There were parts that immediately gave me peace about walking away from toxic people in my life. I've shared it with several people already. Thank you!
This podcast has been such a blessing for me. It is both encouraging AND challenging to how the gospel applies to our everyday lives and how to truly put Christ as first priority in our day to day lives.
I love that you touched on the lie of how prayer doesn't have to look our sounds a specific way. I will say, I prayed out loud at a ladies event for my old church and I had an older lady (like my grandma's age), criticize my prayer after. I was so discouraged. I was in tears. I did not want to pray in front of others again. I stepped out and actually prayed in front of the ladies and was so proud of myself, then that was crushed when this woman criticized me. Thankfully, I had the courage to talk to my pastor's wife and the leader of the ladies' ministry about it. They definitely encouraged me and reassurred me of some of the things mentioned in this podcast. It's just so sad that a woman of God would criticize how someone else prayed. I wonder how many others deal w/ this. That they think it's not a good prayer b/c they have been told by others they're not good at it.
Loved these tips! Thank you! :)
This was a really good talk! I would have to say in our culture it seems that people have so many boundaries that people aren't close. People really stay to themselves and hold on to boundaries so much as soon as relationships get uncomfortable with real life on life hardships. So I definitely can see two sides of this topic.
I just started listening to you podcasts and they are really good!! And this one on social media is spot on. Anxiety is my number 1 reason for using social media. I post a lot on WhatsApp, Status updates, I'm not so sure of my intentions ( will start paying attention more) but part of it is just because I'm so grateful, but I do acknowledge it may come across as pride. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this episode. ♥️
I follow Daily Grace on Instagram, but I actually have never listened to your podcast until now. Happy 2nd Anniversary!🎉 I really enjoyed hearing about all that God has done in you and through you, over the last two years. I can't wait to go back and listen to the 70s episodes.😁God Bless!
My fav podcast. so encouraging amd really love the girls who host!
Love this podcast. Appreciate the hard truths to look into our own hearts.
LOVE this podcast. Truth is being shared & your accent makes it even more welcoming. I do my journal while listening. It helps me put my thoughts and prayers to paper.
such a wonderful message with reminders sprinkled everywhere. in love love love!! thank you for creating this for us!!
So helpful thank you!
wonderfully done. encouraging, truth-filled conversation. and the episode notes are a great resource!
really good message. thank you. their were some parts that were hard to hear as a single mother. sometimes it doesn't feel any of the bible was meant for me and that pretty much everyone looks down on me and I am cursed to always be alone because of my sin. thank you for the reminder that we are complete in Christ alone.
love this podcast
