Americans have a glum view of the economy, but that is not expected to affect their consumer spending as holiday shopping kicks off.
According to a recent Fox News survey, 76% of Americans have a negative view of the economy. At the end of President Joe Biden’s term, this number was 70%. Yet while Americans appear to be losing faith in the vitality of the U.S. economy, they don’t plan on slowing their own holiday shopping habits.
The International Council of Shopping Centers reports that between Thanksgiving Day and Cyber Monday, 235 million American adults are expected to spend $127 billion, for an average of $542 a person—a $13 increase from the average spent over the long holiday weekend last year.
Millennials are projected to be the biggest spenders, with the International Council of Shopping Center estimating the generation born between 1981 and 1996 will drop an average of $764 a person during the five-day shopping period.
So what’s the disconnect? Why do the same Americans who feel the economy is flooding appear to feel good enough about their personal bank account to go out and drop several hundred dollars in just a few days? Nicole Huyer, a senior research associate in The Heritage Foundation’s Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies, joins this week’s edition of “Problematic Women” to discuss.

"What I believe we're seeing in the demand from wealthy Western nations that we fight climate change by reducing our use of fossil fuels is that they are demanding that the poorest nations of the world forego the use of the most abundant, affordable, reliable energy sources that can lift them out of poverty and keep them out of poverty," E. Victor Davis Hanson states there is a fine line between “canceling” and “deplatforming,” and it all has to do with how the platformer handles the issue they’re amplifying. “ When you don't invite Nick Fuentes on your program, it doesn't mean that you're canceling him. It doesn't mean that you're deplatforming him because he's beyond the pale. And you say, ‘Well, who are you to say that, Victor?’ Well, I'm not Victor saying that. There are accepted norms—that you don't use the N-word, or you don't call for people to go back to Israel, if they're Jewish, or you don't make fun of people's race in the public sphere, the way he did. You can do that, of course, under the First Amendment, but you're not invited into acceptable venues to vent those views and to spread hate.”

Just because they weren't all convicted criminals don't mean the other arrested detainees weren't aiding and abetting by interfering with the arrests as they typically do in Chicago.
Tucker isn't the only one of the supposed conservative media darlings, who after going "independent" seemed to have had a change of heart on conservative policy after attracting the attention of specific large foreign investment influencer interests. Correlation isn't causation, but the timing of these sell outs combined with the policy pivots does warrant consideration.

In order to reduce expense, points of inefficiency must be reduced, but I suspect that this is a non-starter with the dimocrat insurance lobby.
There is a lot of discussion about data, but data doesn't win elections. Messaging competently a strong vision with solid policy prescriptions for a better societal future can. Delivering on that vision will win future elections. Look to what the Governor of FL has accomplished.
The GOP needs to get back to the basics of TEA party movement policies. The current "populist" center-left croniest venture socialism policy approach really doesn't reach voters. Voters now have a choice between center-left weak venture socialism and extreme leftist hard core communism.
