I first met El Strawb over 7 years ago at an old abandoned Mental Hospital in Bristol. Since then our paths have crossed just a handful of times. So after a year of Lockdown, I was excited to catch up with him and find out how he's been getting on.
I first met Jase Dub back in 1999, he was working behind the Bar in a holiday resort i was also working in. Somewhere along the way he started DJ'n and we became great mates. So much so I was Best Man at his Wedding. We were never rivals, but somehow we did always end up getting the other one fired from some nice gigs.
I got together with now-retired DJ Russ James for some stories and songs. It was the first time I've really spoken to him properly since he hung up the headphones over 10 years ago. His song choices varied from Led Zeppelin to Faithless. His stories went from Post office clubs to Buckingham Palace.STORIES & SONGS :If a picture can paint a thousand words, then a song must be able to tell a million stories. I'm Darren Dee and for over 25 years I gigged as a DJ, Presenter & Comic in hundreds of venues across the world, during that time I've met some weird and wonderful people.Wherever the place, whatever the occasion, big or small Music has nearly always marked moments in my life as it does with everyone else's. Behind every one of those moments is a unique and sometimes personal story. So join me and my Guests for Stories and Songs on the Darren Dee Podcast.
