The podcast THE DEVIL WITHIN returns with A Season in Hell...

In the late 1970's New York City had it all: Hip Hop, Punk Rock... and the Son of Sam. The third season of The Devil Within takes listeners into the belly of the beast and explores the wicked origins, reign of terror and ultimate capture of one of the most feared serial killers in history.

With exclusive interviews from journalists, FBI agents, historians and mental health experts this season promises to be the most comprehensive - and most terrifying - account of how one man brought New York City to a standstill.

BINGE THE FIRST TWO SEASONS NOW!

Season 1: The brutal slaying of BETTY ANN SULLIVAN shocked the small town of Jefferson Township, New Jersey. The violence of that evening shocked the nation for the perpetrator... was her own son, a boy of fourteen who would take his own life only hours later. What the investigation revealed left a community in tatters, unwilling to believe the evil that had befallen them.

Season 2: In 1974 after experiencing financial hardship, Michael Taylor joined a local church in the rolling hills of Northern England.

After falling in love with a young, beautiful preacher, Michael’s personality began to change. The mild-mannered family man became abusive and unhinged. His new church believed he was possessed by no fewer than 48 demons and would require an exorcism to save his soul and protect his family from evil. But the supposed remedy would come at a very steep price...

October of 1974… in the small village of Ossett in Yorkshire County, England the local police responded to the most vicious and brutal slaying they had ever encountered. Christine Taylor, a happily married mother of five and was found murdered. Torn apart actually, in her own home. Yorkshire is the largest County in England. There are my towns in the county. But, West Yorkshire isn't a town, its an area. Bradford where the Yorkshire ripper lived is in West Yorkshire. Leeds where he was caught is in West Yorkshire. So, Ossett is a town within West Yorkshire. North Yorkshire is James Herriet Country, The Dales its beautiful, West Yorkshire was known for producing Wool and carpets, South Yorkshire coal mines and steel, East Yorkshire fishing. There are beautiful parts in each compass point. The Yorkshire Ripper is an interesting topic to cover, I briefly met one of the few women who survived a hammer attack. She was my mums friend's neighbour & friend. So, she'd be st her house some times when we were visiting.

The trailer needs sorting! West Yorkshire is not a town. It's a county. Osset is a town in West Yorkshire. I live in West Yorkshire.

This show is so cool, definitely the most intriguing " true crime" podcast available, although I hesitate to say true crime as this show is something more. To me nothing is more terrifying than demons, my neighbor was possessed, and I say that in the most serious sense of the word. Great show, good narration, and I love the creepy suspense sounds. I waited a long time for season two, I anticipated it often, I want the next episode NOW!! But I will patiently wait..

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was pulled in from beginning to end of this podcast because of family living there! A close member of my family lived about 25 miles north of Jefferson on a boarder town of the park and graduated from Vernon in 2000. I immediately got to talking with him and asked if he knew of it. He said, no, that they just explored and that it was spooky up there at night & off roading, didn't know what all the ruins were from or any story just 10 years later? I thought that was too sad. Had I known whenever I would have gone there to visit, I would have had them take me, in the day, to the road and gone to visit the ruins to have said a prayer for the families. I truly appreciate the beautiful part of NJ you still do not know exists there to this day! I have many more questions! I do believe there are additional people up there that know more about what actually happened. Isn't that always the case? Since we know from your experience I felt your ending kept the known part true and the unk

I don't get the comment "folklore or fake stories." Its a fact a man named Cross lived in that area, on the land that was his, who penned his own grimiore which Tommy and Lance found at the library. History proven is not fake.

This show started off great and had a lot of potential, but the episodes got really repetitive around episode 3 and go way off topic for too long. Also, transition music every 45 seconds? why.

The most disappointing podcast I’ve ever listened to. After starting out with an incredible first episode it went steadily downhill. Could have been a straightforward true crime story but turned into a campfire ghost story. It would be great if someone else would do a podcast about the murder and Tommy but keep it nonfiction.

This podcast makes zero sense. This is all made up? This murder happened but it’s told like we know exactly what Tommy is thinking. Unless this came from a journal, this podcast is bullshit.

I like how he tells this story. A lot of people wouldn't even give the idea of demon possession a chance, just disregard it as silliness, but this guy has the humility to admit what many people who have too much ego to say: that you just cant know for sure .. so why not entertain the possibility? ..he explains this more in the next episode.

Quite verbose. Prefer just the facts for true crime. Host would succeed as a fictional storyteller.

So sick of seeing mental illness, violence, and suicide blamed on bullshit like Satanic possession! A stressed-out religious teen with huge sports and academic pressure weighing on him becomes violent, hears voices, and experiences religious delusions/hallucinations and I'm supposed to believe that this because he summoned a demon? And Satanism also explains why the brother who survived Tommy's crime later killed himself? Fuck off, Wondery, this kind of narrative is so disrespectful towards people with mental illnesses, as well as to this family. This is a real-life crime, not an episode of Ghost Adventures. 1/10 P.S. If you're going to imply that ancient European paganism, 19th century occultism, Satanism, and Native American spiritual beliefs are somehow equatable then at least get your specific facts right.
